2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee has in past revved up and accelerated suddenly. But I was able to stop it with brakes. Today, 8/4, I was parallel parking and went into reverse. When I went into drive, the Jeep revved up and accelerated on its own. I applied brakes but car kept accelerating and tapped car in front of me. Luckily no one was hurt, but easily could have been.

You can see the skid marks from him applying the brakes but it went full throttle and took it into a concrete wall. The Jeep has been totaled. I have been finding a lot on the internet now that shows this has been happening to the Jeeps for some time. I have filed a complaint with Chrysler - have been transferred to several different departments, and am still waiting to see if they will accept any responsibility.

I was braking at a stoplight. And had almost come to a complete stop, when the vehicle suddenly accelerated and shot forward. My foot was on the brake the entire time but it made no difference. What stopped me was the car in front of me. I rear-ended it with enough impact to push that car into the car ahead of it.
