1 Front Seat Heater/cooler problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2010

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee - heater core leakage led us to take up carpet - both driver's side and passenger side holes in the frame which hold the seats down to the body, were rusted through. Cause - water trap (design flaw) in design of the unibody, and no undercoating to help prevent such occurrence. Frame metal is approx. 1/8th inch thick. Areas affected were cut out and new metal welded in (by private party - not dealer. I do have the pieces which were cut out. ) should there have been a collision, the seats would have broken loose from the frame and serious injuries would have occurred. Other comments made on this same vehicle, to include ours, relate how the actual seat frame breaks. Metal found when this occurred is weakened - not re-enforced to prevent breakage.

2 Front Seat Heater/cooler problem

Failure Date: 11/22/2008

The contact owns a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. On more than ten occasions, the contact stated that the seat heater on the driver's side would become so hot that the occupant in the seat would be burned. When he turned off the seat heater, it remained activated. He had to turn off the vehicle in order to turn off the heater. He never smelled anything burning. The vehicle has not been taken to the dealer and the manufacturer has not been notified. The current mileage was 121,230 and failure mileage was approximately 117,000.

3 Front Seat Heater/cooler problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2006

My ventilation system is in the process of failing. I have a loud creating sound coming from underside my dash. When I turn on the system, it doesn't always heat/cool the way it is supposed to. Sometimes the heat comes on, sometimes the cool comes on when the other is chosen. Sometimes if it's supposed to be on the floor its on the defroster. Also, the drivers side seat heater acts up but mostly it doesn't work.
