While driving the transmission will go into neutral without warning. I have to coast to a spot I can pull over then put into park then back into drive again and vehicle will go . It has done this three times.
Ignition system was repaired under recall in 2016. The cars ignition system continues to have issues and will shut off and cause the car not to restart. Very dangerous to be driving and have the engine fail. This happened on the highway recently. Chrysler says there is nothing they can do. Car has been looked at by independent mechanics and I have notified the dealership. They say it is my responsibility now.
The fuel tank skid plate has completely rusted and has broken off. My tank (that has a date of 2004 stamped on it) is completely exposed. I am afraid that my tank is going to fall off and cause harm to myself or the driver/vehicle behind me. The vehicle is mostly city street / highway driving… no off road driving. I am concerned of the considerable amount of pot holes ??? in my area that damage can be done based on the area I live in. Southwestern pennsylvania has a lot of pot holes.
The ecm in trans has defect which can throw Jeep into another gear. Electrical issues confuses trans module check engine light us on. . Differential is loose now. Unsafe to drive gears could shift causing a crash . Vehicle has been diagnosed at mr transmission. 773-768 7676. For full report!+=.
The blend air doors break or fall apart and no longer work! always heat! blend doors are crap. This is something!.
Shudders when in stationary position.
The undercarriage has practically dissolved. The metal is too thin or it should of had a protective coating. Perhaps both.
The door handles on the interior of my Jeep are very brittle. 2 out of 4 handles are currently broken as they are made only of plastic. This is a major issue with my vehicle as it poses a safety risk. Many people online have this same issue, this needs to be looked into, I am fearful for myself and my families safety in this car.
Driver's side interior door handle is broken and does not work.
First off the transmission wasn't shifting right. I was like it was getting stuck in 2nd gear or something. The rpms were raising high before it was shifting. Then my check engine came on, took it in to get a the code read code was p0700 and p0562 and p0750 so we changed the battery, the throttle body and had the transmission fluid and filters changed. Still same problem. Check engine light is still on with the same code . Took it to a transmission shop they said it is the solenoid pack. Now I have read a lot of the Jeep Chrysler forums and a whole lot of these Jeeps have had the same issue with the transmission. So I want to know how you can sell such an expensive vehicle with so many transmission issues. And why there has not been a recall on these transmissions. This is a big safety issue!! I think you need to fix or replace the transmissions in these Jeeps!! a recall should be done ASAP on these transmissions!!! I am extremely disappointed in Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep. I have not seen a recall as of yet on these transmissions. Yet there are so many people who have the same issues with these transmissions. I called Chrysler and they said there were no recalls yet on this transmission. I expect a call or email about this concern ASAP. Thank you, mrs. Mattle.
Takata recall.
Took vehicle to pep boys to check due to the fact I was having trouble turning key in the ignition and it continued to give me problems then the key became stuck in the ignition. A locksmith had to be called to pep boys to fix the ignition. I had to pay $200. Then it was told to me that I needed a starter, which totaled $644. Wanted to know if I get this money refunded to me. I have receipts. And also a repair done about 2 years ago related to the recall.
"takata recall" all 4 of my doors have broken handles to let you open the door from the inside. All plastic has broken. It started about a month ago one at a time. It's a huge safety issue do to the fact than a passenger or all passengers may not be able to exit do to the faulty plastic. Fire, accident or whatever the reason I'm not comfortable letting my friends ride in my car as well as myself. This should have a recall because I'm seeing many Jeep owners with the same problem. *lease make this a recall do to safety issues. Thanks.
While driving all the instrument / gage lights came on then went off several times, while this was going on the vehicle speedometer and tachometer went to zero stayed for a few seconds , long enough for me to pull to the side of the road, then resumed operating. Not sure if direction lighting was responding on exterior of vehicle at the time. Or head lights, as it was daytime. I had difficulty getting people to acknowledge as it's generally a very busy road traveled. Meridian rd puyallup wa.
As I was leaving a shopping center about 40 miles away from my house my Jeep and as I entered onto the interstate the Jeep acted like I was having a flat tire with the steering wheel shaking and giving me a lot of vibration and the flop flop sound you get from a flat tire. I stopped and got out but no flat tire, loose lug nuts or anything I could find. Put flashers on and headed up the road slowly not going over 45 mph. It finally quit and I was able to increase speed. It continues to have this wobble sound along with the steering wheel shaking off and on. I did some research and the only thing matched what happen was the Jeep death wobble. Some vehicles have had a recall on this but I don't see any for my year.
Driving down the road, the and and traction control lights come on while driving and tranny doesn't shift causing loss of brakes and revving of engine.
The skid plate that holds the gas tank is rusted thru and need replaced. This seems to be a common design flaw.
Brake booster fail and, I have replace. This cost me part only $219 plus labor $180. 00. This should be considered as recall since is not brake pads issue.
While driving my Jeep the engine light came on. I immediately pulled over and telephoned my mechanic not sure if I should continue driving it. My mechanic thought that it would be okay to drive it the short distance I had left and to bring in into his garage. My mechanic checked out the vehicle at length and could not find anything. When he thought he had it fixed the engine light came back on. My mechanic brought it to the dealer in norwich,, NY and they determined it was part of the computer system. I just got my Jeep back after a $972. 00 bill. Is this something that typically goes wrong; have others had issues with this; was it safe etc. ?.
All 4 interior door opening handles breaking/failing: 1 rear door totally inoperable. ***this is a dangerous safety issue if handles break or are inoperable in certain emergency situations, passengers may not be able to exit the vehicle, causing serious injury or death!*** manufacturer charge to replace/repair handles is prohibitively expensive: in my case, the cost of eight (8) monthly car payments! manufacturer safety recall warranted!.
Rear passenger side door handle no longer opens the door from the inside. Door handle is loosely flopping around. The door must be opened from the outside. This was first found when the stopped and my son couldn't get the door open.
Ok I'm fully aware my vehicle is under 3 recalls well technically speaking 2 cause ones a recall on the recall waiting for that recall to be recalled. This whole process is insane my vehicle has turned off while driving has unparked itself shifted on its own had the lights flicker I have even been pulled over mutiple times for these problems twice when the Jeep decided it was gonna stop accelerating 3 times because the lights start flickering sometime just inside sometimes just the outside and most recently all the lights just stopped working vehicle still running made it about 10 feet after the lights went out and sure enough before I could even pull of tbe road blue lights I've had the vehicle less then 60 days it's stalled while sitting still it's stalled while driving it's shut off while idle and while driving. Its shifted on its own while driving and idle most recently I was checking the transmission fluid with the car in park in my driveway the support arms are dead so I used my handy dandy block o wood to hold it open well I pull the dipstick from the transmisson it was a little low so I turn around to grab my funnel and a bottle of fluid and I before I can even turn all the way around my parked car is rolling towards me and so I didnt get pinned between my Jeep and my shed I tired to step into the vehicle to prevent my legs from getting stuck well I'm pretty tall and my head hit he hood witch lifted it slightly and my block o wood fell out witch lead to the hood pushing my face into the running car luckily a busted flip and a slight burn to my neck was all that happened now I understand that a block o wood is not standard safety equipment and I understand that a car rolling in netural a couple feet will more then likely not pin anyone but all I knew was the parked car was moving I didn't know if it was gonna speed up or what I need more room.
The interior door handles on both driver side are broken. The back driver passenger door handle finally broke. The driver door interior handle is going to go next. Im just worried about what would happen if it breaks if I get into an accident or if my car catches fire. Its a hazard and safety issue that needs to be addressed. I was im my driveway when it broke.
Rear support beams splitting welds.
P41 ignition switch recall was completed on my vehicle 11/2015. Prior to receiving recall notification I experienced no problems with accidently hitting the key while driving. Now I am experiencing great difficulty turning the ignition switch. One of my vehicle keys broke off while trying to turn the car on to drive. Most times I get in the car to go somewhere there is always an issue getting the key to turn allowing the car to turn on. The warranty for the recall has expired and I am very upset that there is nothing that can be done to rectify this problem without having out of pocket expenses. This is very frustrating and I am afraid my last key is going to break off while trying to start vehicle.
Interior door handles are broken and you cannot get out of car. Car was in driveway. This is an one going issue with Jeep and they are not doing a safty recall.
On10-20-2017 drop my bady off on the east side of st paul on the way back to the house this car just started on fire just purchased on 10-14-2017 6days I dont know if the dealer knew something and did not tell me. I paid 5,000 for a car that burn up in six days iam just trying to get a car or my money back.
I purchased a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee on 10/14/2017 and on 10/20/2017 on my way from droping my kid off ,coming home my car started to run sluggish so getting off the highway it caught on fire. Was there ever a recall on this car, so I look on the internet and found out that a recall involves 2005 . That the transmission fluid will get too hot cause it boil and eject some of the fluid could come into contact with a hot part of the exhaust and cause an engine according to Jeep recall Grand Cherokee over fire danger web site.
A lot of owners of the Jeep Grand Cherokee are experiencing the same problem with the dim head lights and trouble starting the car . The car simply won't start you have to crank it about 20 times . The car will sometimes turn off while driving in the road.
Multiple times a day, the vehicle is shutting off while driving! the speedometer randomly drops to zero and the steering wheel locks up and the car shuts off! for this reason, I am scared to drive on the highway in fear that it will cause a major accident. Also, it will not turn back on immediately. I have to let it sit for around 5 minutes before it will turn back on.
Door handles have crumbled into nothing, every door won't open from inside this is ridiculously an emergency exit problem, just like old refridgerator doors and kids getting locked inside, just think if a child crawaled into the Jeep on a 90-100 degree day , this is criminal negligence, how can you make such a passenger death trap , and not fix this , there is over 1million Jeeps with this problem , yea how do you escape a fire , or flood, thought Jeep was american made , best of the best, get you there and back safely, guess just not in or out like the back seat of a cop car , or your families tomb.
All door panel are broken (front and rear) and it's difficult and hard for a driver and passengers to open in case of an emergency.
Indoor handles are all broken. Safety issue can't get out of the car from the inside.
Door handles on all interior doors have broken and become un-useable and very dangerous as passengers have to be let out or open windows and try to open door from outside , if there was a fire or water hazard there would be no way to escape as electrics wouldnt allow winows to open , im afraid to travel with my kids and price to fix is over $3000. 00 and no one wants to fix them , even if I say ill pay its rediculous, dangerous and out right fraud . Jeep needs to do a recall and fix this issue as the danger to life is massive and there is 100,000 vechiles with this problem. Just the broken parts can cut people, not relizing it . Happened by normal use actually less than normal use as rear passanger doors failed faster then front and over the years had 3/4 less usage than front as I use it everday.
My interior handles on 3 of the 4 doors have broken and I cannot open my doors from the inside. The plastic that was utilized in the design and making of the handle became brittle and now has broken. This started to occur years ago with the passenger front and back interior handle and most recently with the driver side front which now I have to wind the window down to open the door from the outside which is a huge safety issue if I should get into a car wreck or something of this nature. The cost in getting this issue fixed is unaffordable to me.
