Headlamps flashing intermitttently while driving at night. Potential accident waiting to happen. Veru distracting to me as well as oncoming traffic.
Hatchback failed to stay opened and slammed on hand. This is the second time this happened with this vehicle. Had hatchback cylinder replaced after first time by dealer. No injury first time. Second time medical expenses. Needs to be replaced again. Vehicle was stationary both times in driveway.
My Jeep jumps to third gear randomly, and it ends up jittering and shaking. My car got stuck so many times and ended up being stalled on a busy highway and almost got into an accident. I was once parked and had shifted to drive but instead the Jeep suddenly jumped to 3rd and my car started to go backwards and ended up hitting another car behind me. I had to pay the guy $500 and also got all the fluids and oils changed in hopes of getting this fixed, but to no avail. Yesterday, I spent $450 on these fluid and oil changes only to have the problem continue. Thousands of people are having the same issues and Jeep has no answers. You guys need to do a total vehicle recall since Jeep has no answers. Many people can die from this defect. I have a video to prove the car jumping to third and all the issues I just described.
The center back seat seatbelt will not come loose. It is tightened and will not retract. I have to put my six year old on the left passenger side because I cannot seat her in the middle. It's concerning in the event of an accident, my child is susceptible to more injuries since I cannot properly seat her in the middle seat in the back. Also, when it rains, the car leaks into the inside. This has been going on for quite sometime. I don't understand it. I spoke with my cousin who also owns a brand new Jeep and even hers does this as well.
My transmission keeps reading over temp but when I check everything on said vehicle there is no known problem. This makes me feel unsafe in my vehicle. Especially with children in it. It happens parked or while driving randomly anywhere.
Door handles on rear doors completely broken off. In an emergency, my child could not get out of the car. The car was parked and the doors would not open from the inside. If the car was in a more serious emergency. . . Flood, fire, crash, anyone in the backseat could not get out of the vehicle.
The key for my vehicle will no longer work. The buttons will not unlock the Jeep. When trying to unlock the vehicle, I have to unlock with the physical key, then experience the alarm going off to get into the car. This has been occurring for over the last year. Changing the battery does not help.
Clicking in dashboard upon start of vehicle for approximately 2 minutes straight. I have been told there are many other Jeep owners dealing with the same issue. It comes from the heater fan area. I was told by a mechanic "its working now, its going to be expensive when it goes, as it's like $1000. 00 to take the dash off".
While driving the vehicle in drive it slips into gear 3 by itself and when I attempt to accelerate its in limp mode. I always have to pull to the side and shut the vehicle on and restart it several times before it actually shift the ( d ) drive.
Takata recall, my car shifts to neutral whenever I'm driving it.
All 4 interior door opening handles breaking/failing: 1 rear door totally inoperable. This is a dangerous safety issue if handles break or are inoperable in certain emergency situations, passengers may not be able to exit the vehicle, causing serious injury or death! manufacturer charge to replace/repair handles is prohibitively expensive.
On 04/23/2016 I took my vehicle for a recall, p41 / NHTSA 14v-438 today is 7/10/2016 and the vehicle has done the same thing twice, all of a sudden all the lights in the dash board go on I loose power and after a while it starts up again. Like I said before this has happen twice now I lost my cruise control and a service electrical brake system is coming on and engine light. I fear that this is going to cause me to have an accident one day and there for I have been using only secondary roads that don't have much traffic.
The speakers are made cheap plastic that the magnet on back falls off. The interior door handles are easily to break due to plastic very brittle all 4 doors are broke making it difficult to open doors. Also the transmission will sputter as if I'm running out of gas. While driving the connection from air control knob has burned out air only blows on high. Also the part that switches form cold to heat ,the plastic gears wore down now will now switch over . . Over all these vehicles are over priced for all the cheap plastic parts that are used. I have read the interior door handles were trying to get on recall list but guess it didn't make it . Unable to select a date this all happened but it been over the years starting in 2007.
I have a 2005 Grand Cherokee I bought it new and it have 48575 mile this vehicle has problem since I bought it when it rain the water come in the driver side I make many complain to Jeep about it an they are not fixing the problem now all my door panel were the handle is are broken and Jeep don't want to fix it . The cost on me to replace the panel for each door are about seven hundred dollars each panel and that is some bullshit . Never buy a Jeep the service suck and the are made of cheap material. Someone need to do an investigation on this.
Brought vehicle in for oil change (only oil change). Jeep dealer gave back vehicle back with a new ignition stating there was a recall on it without me asking or authorizing them to do so. Now I have a new ignition that is not flush with the dash (sticks out about half an inch) and does not work properly with my original keys. My keys are extremely difficult to go in and out of the ignition and on 2 separate occasions the key was unable to be removed from the ignition resulting in the acc being left on overnight and being forced to take vehicle to dealer in the morning with a dead battery. Dealer states I need to purchase a new key because my keys are original and the ignition they replaced is brand new and are not synced up. The service manager told me it is my problem to purchase new keys for the Jeep that had no issues prior to them replacing the ignition. Called Jeep customer service and they told me I would be given a new key but than put me on hold for 20 minutes and told me it is actually my responsibility to purchase a new key after they changed out my ignition.
All 4 of my indoor door handed are broken!!!.
Interior door handles are made of cheep plastic and prematurely wearing out causing them to shatter making them inoperable so that occupants are unable to exit the vehicle in case of emergency.
Takata recall. Headlights randomly flicker or shut off while driving on highway.
Recall for ignition switch was completed unsatisfactorily by the dealer. 1) it is extremely difficult to get the key to turn. The new design takes excessive force to push the key in and then turn, and, again, excessive force to push the key in and remove the key. This repaid is totally unacceptable to me, 2) new key barrel, or whatever they installed in the steering column, does not align up in the hole in the dashboard and is immediately noticeable looking at the dash board. This, too, is not acceptable. 3) a goofy looking sticker was attached to the dashboard next to the steering column key how. Is that part of the "recall"? are we supposed to keep post-it type notes on our dash for safety? you've got to be kidding me. Tightness in getting key to tun on or off is occurring at all times, every time.
I also have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee lmtd and the driver's side interior door panel is broken around the door handle. The door handle is hanging on by the cables. I have been dealing with this for over 2 years. The only reason the other door interior panels haven't broken yet is probably because they are rarely used. I do not know why Jeep has not been supportive enough to have a recall to replace all 4 door panels since they are aware of the cheap plastic that was used. This is a safety hazard. I don't even know if I could get my door open in a crash.
I called the recall center multiple times speaking with briana, tiffany and shelena (supervisor) regarding recall p41. All of them stated and have documented that I would be receiving 2 new keys when they fix my recall. The dealership is refusing to give me new keys. I think it is unprofessional to misinform your customers and not hold true to your word. I have been expecting new keys because I am having issues with mine and now they are refusing to replace it. I have been waiting for over a year for a solution for this recall and now this.
I received safety recall p41 concerning the ignition switch. I have been waiting for over a year for my dealer to receive the required part and they still don't have it. Why can't Chrysler provide the part for this safety recall?????.
To this day my 4 wheel drive has not worked and the dealer that I took it to just said that this wasn't covered under the recall, I think they still got paid by doing nothing to it and now I get another recall for something I haven't had problems which then I'll take it in for them to do nothing to it and still get paid for fixing nothing, what I would really want is for them to fix my 4 wheel drive, I could never get it to work when I needed to use it in the snow, it would just keep sliding and would never change to 4 wheel drive, thank you.
Notice is for p41 / NHTSA 14v-438 - fiat claims they don't know when the part will ever come in and the dealer says the same thing. The recall seems pretty serious says vehichle can cause a crash from the ignition - what do I do??.
This past week, two of the 4 interior door handles have broken. These are doors that are seldom used. It is only a matter of time that the remaining doors will be affected. This is a safety issue because you cannot exit the vehicle. I have researched this issue on the internet and youtube and it is a very common complaint. Chrysler should recall this defective part - the cheep plastic they decided to use just crumbled in the door. Instead they want me to pay $340. 00 for parts only for "one" door and this does not include installation.
Door handles to exit the vehicle from inside break under normal conditions. All four door handle are brittle and can break under normal opening. This can be a hazard if needed to get out of the vehicle.
On 6/30/2015 I took my vehicle in for p73 warranty recall. On7/12/2015 , when I was backing out of my driveway, my 2005 Jeep shifted into low 4 wheel drive , without any touching of the lever to shift into 4 wheel drive. It took a couple blocks driving very slow to disengage from the 4 wheel drive low. I have an appt. To return to the dealer who performed the service, to have it checked. Right now I am hesitant to drive this vehicle, for fear it will shift into 4 wheel drive again, without my doing anything, which could do serious damage to the vehicle at the very least. I am reporting this so others might be informed that there could be a problem with the reprogram of the final drive control module.
Door handles / door panel falling/ breaking apart on 2 doors.
Chrysler has a recall on my Jeep since 2014, that hasn't been fix or done. I'm having problems (cuts off and all lights comes on). Took to the Jeep place and they state; OH no! this isn't because of the recall. Wrong answer. They were wanting me to spend thousands of dollars to fix things not wrong with my car. No warranty with what they were gone to fix. Took it somewhere else and they found the problem. "the recall". . . No part to be found. They did the best they could until Chrysler gets me a part. I'm driving my car that cuts off on me. I don't have another car, I'm a widow. How can I get my money back that I have spend and get my car fix?.
Car did not turn on. Ignition switch.
Out of the 4 interior door panels, 3 of them are broken! my vehicle is not under warranty anymore and the price to get this fixed is ridiculous! I've been told by several other Jeep owners that the same thing has happened to them. My main concern is that this is a safety hazard because if something were to happen they person/persons in the front passenger and/or both rear doors couldn't get out. I drive my Jeep everyday and the only interior door knob that isn't broken is the drivers side! I rarely have others in my vehicle, but yet the other 3 door knobs are broken?!?!?! please do something about this. I've contacted the Chrysler corporation and they were very rude about the situation.
My sons vehicle will randomly shift out of drive into third gear causing serious safety concerns. If you turn the car off and turn the car back on it resets but the problem can reoccur at any time while driving. We have taken to a Jeep dealership and they reloaded some software but that did not fix the problem. This is a known problem as an internet search reveals many people with the same problem.
Problem with broken door handles 1front passenger 2rear passenger doors all broken which causes a safety hazard for my kids and others who ride in the vehicle. Rather expense to replace and should be recalled by Chrysler.
I was driving down a local freeway. Had just merged on and began to accelerate. Once reaching 65 mph the vehicle felt liken it slammed on the brakes while my foot was on the accelerator. Only lasted for a second then returned to normal. 1/3 mile later is happened again. It has been going on for about a week now. Have come to realize that it is most likely a torque converter or transmission. There is recalls on the vehicle for ignition also. Which Chrysler has yet to resolve. Have they really fixed the transmission issue on this vehicle? or not? this vehicle apparently has caused many people problems and I myself have had two of these exact Jeeps. Both have been complete catastrophes. This problem is very scary and very unsafe for any driver. I have no money to fix the problem nor will the dealer or Chrysler help with the issue. I hope you can somehow help me. I'm begging you. Please do something about this. So everyone can have a safe experience on the roadways.
I received an important safety recall notice p41/NHTSA 14v-438 in sept. 2014. As of April 17, more than six months later, Chrysler has not remedied this defect. I am concerned that this is not important to them.
