1. Fuel tank started leaking on the top. 2. Middle backseat belt was stuck. It would not pull out. No matter what we tried it just got tighter and tighter, had to cut it. 3. Can't use seat warmer on passenger side because it will burn the person sitting there because the seat tore.
I am 6'4" tall. The seat in the limited edition 5. 7 l has insufficient travel in the vertical direction. My head rests against the ceiling under normal driving conditions unless I slouch a lot or put the seat back way back at which point I can no longer grip the steering wheel well.
The contact owns a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving approximately 35 mph on normal conditions, the front driver's side seat support bracket failed unexpectedly. The driver's seat wobbled and moved slightly backwards. The failure occurred without warning. The contact is in the process of taking the vehicle to an authorized dealer for repair. Currently, the vehicle is able to be driven. He stated that the failure was related to a manufacturer design flaw. The contact was concerned of the safety risk involved. The VIN was unknown. The failure and current mileages were 160,000.
Upholstery fabric is highly susceptible to staining!!! it does not clean when shampooed. Stains remain & actually become worse with cleaning. Even rain drops stain the fabric. This is absolutely unacceptable!!! I can see why Chrysler introduced "yes" fabric in 2007. I wish I had it. The only solution is re-upholstery. I have considered having leather installed but decided it was too costly. Had I known the upholstery would stain so easily I would not have bought cloth interior!!!!!!.
: the contact stated while changing the gear from drive to reverse there was a clicking noise. This occurred intermittently. While attempting to apply pressure to the accelerator pedal the engine made a roaring noise and the vehicle failed to pick up speed. The dealership rebuilt the transmission, however no other repairs have been made. The manufacturer has been alerted. Updated 6/27/2006 - the vehicle battery would not hold a charge. The headliner had to be replaced because it was unraveling. . The sunroof motor had to be replaced. The transmission was rebuilt on 2-27-06 with on 90000 miles. The memory seat did not move back at times when the key was removed from the ignition. The tire pressure monitoring system was inoperative. The power steering pump was binding and had to be replaced. The air bag light illuminated on the dash. The rear windshield wipers were not flush with the windshield.
Upholstery fabric is highly susceptible to staining!!! it does not clean when shampooed. Even rain drops stain the fabric. I have shampooed and even had the fabric scotch-guarded on 4 separate occasions, yet it still stains, even by rain drops. I have complained to the dealers service department but to no avail. I won't purchase another Jeep due to this frustration. I take pride in keeping my vehicle clean and like new. I am very embarrassed to have passengers ride in my Jeep. It gives them a bad impression of me as well as Chrysler! I really regret purchasing this Jeep.
I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee with cloth seats. I don't know what the material is made of, and really don't care. Water will stain the cloth immediately and is unable to be cleaned. I have tried everything, however all cleaners have water in them. Maybe I could take it to the dry cleaners. I think Chrysler should go to the cleaners!!!.
