Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph without notice, the vehicle would fail to accelerate as if the brake pedal is being depressed. This happens while the accelerator is being depressed. The contact also stated that there was a grinding noise coming from the vehicle also. The vehicle was eventually able to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the anti lock control unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired, however, the failure recurred. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14v438000 (electrical) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 45,000. Ed.
