The contact stated that the key had to be turned to the off position then back to the on position in order for the vehicle to start. Once the vehicle was started it would not shift out of the part position unless the ignition was turned to the off position and back to the on position. 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland 5. 7 hemi stalled on freeway. I had to immediately pull over as heavy traffic and vehicle would not restart and I lost all steering/brakes/engine control. I ended up hitting a road cone (no notable damage) as I was pulling into the somewhat small pullover zone (was in highway construction). Vehicle restarted only after being put in park and removing and reinserting the key.

The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact attempted to start the vehicle but it would not crank. Once the contact tried several times, he was able to start it. He was driving approximately 10 mph when the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was towed to a local repair shop where the electronic fuel pump was replaced. The failure occurred intermittently.
