Vehicle will randomly stall while slowing down, brake pedal gets instantly rock hard and steering is next to impossible. Fca claimed if was the fuel pump relay but both fuel pump relay recalls were done and it's even worse now.
Tl the contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While approaching a stop sign, the steering wheel became difficult to turn and the brake pedal was difficult to depress. In addition, the contact depressed the accelerator pedal to the floorboard, but the vehicle seized and the engine shut off. The contact stated that all the indicators were illuminated on the instrument panel, but the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was placed into park and the vehicle started when the push start button was depressed. The vehicle was taken to lithia Chrysler Jeep of reno (located at 3223 mill st, reno, nv 89502) where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump relay needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 102,544.
Vehicle stalled while driving in highway traffic at about 40 mph. Lost ability to steer as power steering quit working. There is a year-old recall to fix fuel pump relay problems but fca, the manufacturer, has yet to provide dealers with the parts needed to fix this problem. This is totally unacceptable as we have continued to drive this vehicle since we do not have, nor can we afford, another vehicle. Please pressure fca/Jeep to provide parts to dealers immediately. Recall # v62/NHTSA 19v-813.
The car stalled and engine shut off while driving, decelerating around a left turning curve. Lost acceleration capability, power steering, brakes, and electrical system (no emergency flashers). Could barely control car and ended driving through curve, off the road, down into small ravine and into field. Were fortunate to avoid road signs and telephone pole. Car restarted after putting gear in park. Very afraid to drive this vehicle anymore. Not able to get appointment with Jeep dealer for another week. Research shows this could be related to faulty tipm. Our service records indicated this Jeep did receive Chrysler group safety recall p54 (NHTSA #14v530) tipm internal fuel pump relay replacement, which states is a potential cause of the car losing power. Seems to have not prevented the moving car from losing power.
My 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland v8 hemi stalls while slowing down to turn onto another road, or going from highway speeds to exiting a ramp. It's been occurring for several years. I've already had the fuel pump relay recall fixed twice, and my Jeep still stalls out almost on a daily basis. It turns out Chrysler issued a recall (t36) for 2012-2014 Jeeps with alternator issues; however the information I have read on the recall sounds a lot like what is happening to my Jeep. 2011 Jeep gc overland should be included in this recall.
Takata recall I just purchased my Jeep back in June and can view the service history. This complaint in particular has to do with extended crank. My Jeep takes awhile to start. I see that there was a fuel pump relay recall. I see in my service history that my Jeep had this part replaced: 02/02/2015 78,423 mi at jt's Chrysler Jeep Dodge fiat. Again, according to the symptom/conditions, I am still experiencing the same issue, and would like this fixed as soon as possible because of safety concerns. I am experiencing or have a symptom/condition of a clunk and/or bump felt through the steering wheel under moderate braking or driving over rough roads (19-003-14) part to fix known issue is (ar) 05057539ad shaft, steering column intermediate. I would like this fixed as soon as possible because of safety concerns. I am experiencing a symptom/condition of a powertrain issue. When accelerating, I feel the transmission slipping and the engine makes very noisy and abrupt vibrations. All lubricant is new. I would like this fixed as soon as possible because of safety concerns. My window washing feature does not spew fluid onto front windows, however, will spew liquid on rear window. I would like this fixed as soon as possible because of safety concerns.
The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee will experience engine stall while the vehicle is in motion, at times in excess of 30 mph. This causes a loss of power steering and power brake functions. It has likewise stalled at stop lights/signals which is equally dangerous when vehicles are approaching from behind at high speeds expecting the vehicle in front to move with the green light. Chrysler issued a recall (p54) related to these issues, however the cheap external fuel pump relay wiring harness fix they employed to remedy the problems can be characterized as insufficient at best. In fact, the issues with our family vehicle have actually worsened since the p54 recall was performed in may of 2015. The vehicle's problems have now progressed to the point where the vehicle will not start: a typical symptom of these dangerous Jeep/Chrysler products. There are literally hundreds of consumer complaints outlining similar issues I. E. , the vehicles being difficult to start or not starting at all, vehicles' power windows not operating properly, door locks opening and locking on their own, horn blaring, the vehicle not recognizing the fob, electronic fuel pumps remaining on after the vehicle is shut off and stalling while the vehicle is in motion. A common theme related to all of these issues seems to be the power distribution center for the vehicles or the tipm (total integrated power module). It seems fiat - Chrysler has been aware of the problems with their oem manufactured tipm parts for some time, since 2007, but took the woefully inadequate route of correcting only a small and less dangerous issue of the manufacturers defect. Hence their court ordered p54 external fuel pump wiring harness, which on a good day will correct the fuel pump run-on. What needs to be addressed is the stalling while in motion issues associated with these vehicles. Please mandate a safety recall.
Serpentine belt failed causing loss of power steering. I did not realize what had broken until I looked later, but I was lucky that I was very close to home as it could have caused major engine failure since the belt also drives the water pump and alternator.
There are three key parts that must work after a car starts, steering, braking and accelerating. The brake booster and power steering pump in my ¿11 Jeep Grand Cherokee need to be replaced. I¿m currently taking all precautions when driving, however this is not nearly enough. I feel that an accident is inevitable. It has now been two weeks waiting for two parts. Facing the worst weather conditions in years I would like to feel safe driving to work and with my family. I understand that certain statistics have to meet before issuing a costly recall, however under these conditions i¿m faced with (backordered parts) I don¿t see why an exception shouldn¿t be issued against Chrysler. If a problem exists you should be able to have the parts available to meet demand. Not being able to meet demand will almost surely provoke a class-action lawsuit. My question is what steps are being taken by the natsa against Jeep/Chrysler? hit the gym and flex your muscles. The worst action is not taking one.
