Car was travelling on a rural road and driver fell asleep at the wheel. Hit an electrical power pole approximately 12 inches inside the drivers side head lamp at speeds approximately at 40 -45 mph. Car then proceeded to travel another approximate 25-30 yards before turning 90 degrees and crashing the rear of the car into the corner of a block building. The driver was unhurt however the air bags failed to deploy to protect the driver.

Air bag failed to deploy when my wife hit a deer at 70mph,it hit dead center of the bumper. There was $5473. 84 dollars of damage. The absorber for the bumper and bumper and bumper parts. The grill,radiator,hood,all brkts and related parts. After getting the car back every thing on the car failed. They replaced steering module at a cost of $716. 17 and the is still not right,it's going back in the shop 8/26/15.

4 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2014

The contact owns a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while parking with the brakes engaged, the vehicle erroneously accelerated and traveled over a bush, a hill, crossed a four lane road and then crashed into a tree. The contact indicated that the air bags failed to deploy and the engine continued to rev after the contact exited the vehicle. The contact then removed the key to shut off the engine. The contact suffered a bruised chest during the incident but did not require medical treatment. A police report was taken at the scene. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 53,500.
