My airbags did not deploy and I believe my seatbelt also did not work properly. I was struck head on (front end to front end) inside a tunnel by a pickup truck (ram 3500) going appx. 40mph and my air bags did not deploy and my head hit my windshield so I’m unsure if seatbelts worked properly as I was using mine. My insurance company is storing it now for me as it is most likely totaled. My insurance is handling my property damage case, as far as I know it has not been to any dealer/mechanic and again is most likely beyond repair unfortunately. Colorado state patrol inspected both vehicles involved, I know my insurance is holding the vehicle now, I’m not sure about the other driver as I am struggling to find help with litigation. I had no warning from my car nor otherr driver, not sure if this is because I was entering the single lane tunnel. He did not use horn flash light anything like that, I laid on my horn and cut my wheel right but being in a tunnel with a wall of rock/mountain, there’s was no avoiding him.

The contact stated that a police report was not filed due to the police department not showing up. The vehicle was towed to the residence by the contact's spouse. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 106,000.
Clockspring malfunction causing horn, cruise control, and air bag not functioning.
My husband was involved in a serious collision with another vehicle on July 20, 2023 and he sustained serious injuries because the airbags never deployed.
Airbag light came on and I took it to my mechanic and he stated the the buckle attached to the seat is throwing a code which disables my passenger airbag. The part is on national back order. Is what our local dealer said and we will not be getting a part for a very long time.
Airbag warning light flashes on and off at random times, whether care is moving or not. Noticeably more frequent when driving and breaks are applied.
The entire leather dash has become the delaminated they had issued a recall on us for a six-month period in early 2020 they kept pushing back saying they didn’t have the parts and six months lapsed I am just worried if I were to get into an accident that the airbags on the passenger side would not operate properly due to the fact that all the leather has sagged and become unglued how can a manufacturer only make a safety recall good for six months the mechanic told me it’s because they only have a certain amount of budget on labor and parts to do safety recalls and that the shops don’t want their time taken up because it is such a time extensive process there were thousands of vehicle’s affected and a lot of them were unable to be fixed because of part shortage and the six-month timeframe they gave everyone how do I get this fixed without paying $3000.
There is a failure in the driver seat belt system resulting in the car not knowing if the driver is buckled. This affects the function of the airbag system in the vehicle. The sensor in the seat belt restraint buckle assembly (p/n 1gq92dx9ac) that is responsible for reporting if the buckle is fastened has failed resulting in 2 error lights on the dashboard: seat belt and airbag. When evaluating the codes stored in the ecu, I found code b1b51, "active 1st row driver seat belt sensor circuit high", was triggered. This is indicating a failure of the sensor or harness in the buckle assemble attached to the drivers seat. I am unable to source a replacement part 1gq92dx9ac since they seem to be backordered everywhere. I've contacted several dealers and parts distributers. This means my vehicle is currently stuck in an unsafe condition. I'm unsure about the affect that this failure has on the airbag system but since the airbag error light is illuminated on the dashboard, I'm worried that the system is disabled since the vehicle doesn't know if the driver is buckled. I've researched this issue on various forums and this isn't an uncommon issue. There are many posts about people trying to diagnose and repair this. This same part number is shared between the wk2 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the corresponding Dodge durango sharing the same model years. I have not brought the vehicle to a dealer to confirm my diagnosis. I'm a mechanical engineer and typically maintain and repair my own vehicles.
The contact owns a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph when traffic began to back up. When the contact was attempting to get into the left lane when the vehicle's ahead suddenly stopped. The contact pressed the brake pedal, however, the vehicle suddenly accelerated forward causing them to rear -end the vehicle in front of them. The air bags did not deploy. There was damage to the vehicle in front where their entire rear end was crushed inward. The contact's vehicle was towed. A police report was made. There were no injuries. There was no medical attention needed. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware. The approximate failure mileage was 131,000.
The activated headrest on the passenger side deployed while driving. No accident occurred and this problem appears to be an issue on similar vehicles. There was also a class action lawsuit about this so there should be a recall issued due to the plastic piece inside wearing down. This could easily cause a wreck or kill somebody!.
The contact owns a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the passenger's side front headrest air bag deployed independently. Ron lewis Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram waynesburg (1625 e high st, waynesburg, PA 15370) was contacted and provided an appointment for the contact. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 215,000.
On or about December 15 2020 my wife was on her way to work and hit a water puddle and hydroplaned at 60 miles per hour and lost control and hit the wall head on at 55 mph and no airbags deployed I have the car in my front yard.
Jeep turns off and won't turn on for hours then it trued on.
The covering in the dash is coming up that may prevent the air bag from deploying.
Vehicle struggles to start when starter button engaged.
Takata recall the airbag does not work got into an accident and airbag did not pop out. The light for the airbag comes on and off.
Hello, my dashboard continues to warp and I'm concerned this is causing impairment of my defrost and possibly my airbag. As you can see this is an ongoing problem with Jeep according to numerous threads on Jeep forums. Also, a news story is provided here: https://youtu. Be/le_4rvabook.
Concerned with proper deployment of passenger airbag. Leather dash coming loose with significant wrinkles and distortion. Will affect passenger airbag deployment per design intent due to deviation in tear seam geometry. (worked previously as seatbelt & airbag engineer and have witnessed effect of tear seam deviation. Pictures attached are not from my vehicle, but show onset of wrinkle condition and a deployed airbag for tear seam location reference. ).
Leather on dash started wrinkling/bubbling then just peeled back (leather dash has delaminated). I am being told the wrinkles in the leather dash could cause an irregular passenger airbag deployment. Dealership rick hendrick of charleston and hoover of summerville only concerned with proper deployment of passenger airbag. Leather dash coming loose with significant wrinkles and distortion. Will affect passenger airbag deployment per design intent due to deviation in tear seam geometry. Research states the dash problem is a result of a supplier not performing the correct application of adhesive and cure procedures.
The leather dashboard is shrinking and coming unglued from the dashboard frame. The defroster vents are now affected and being pulled by the disintegrating leather. I am concerned that since the dashboard coating is no longer affixed to the car, the dashboard will be ripped off and become a projectile if the airbags inflate. The problem exists all the time but the threat exists most when car is in motion.

On June 2 after cleaning the car at the car wash (manually) on the way back to our home all the lights of the dashboard lit up for all services to be done and the wipers activated by themselves. The safety belts are no longer working and the lights of the car are not functional. You do not have blinkers, seat belts or brake lights. The rpm needle goes up and down randomly and the engine continues to rev up and down. The brakes feel as if they are not working to full strength, car was turned off and restarted to see if problem with dashboard still exist. Car started with the same problems, but was unable to shift into gear. Car was towed to dealership for service. The car was serviced at brigham-gill dealership (original sales dealer) on 03-June-2013 giving it back to me with the reset of all modules and deemed ok at that point. On 08-June-2013 the same exact problem happened while drivng to virginia beach. Car started same problems experienced on 03-June-2013. Car is at new jersey dealership for repairs. Car dealer in NJ noted that there was a new computer module replacement to said vehicle in January timeframe. Each time the car has this problem, you are not able to either start the vehicle or move car out of park position.
