general problems of the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee - part 2

While driving my car on the highway the battery light came on. After a few minutes all of the other lights, seatbelt, engine, etc. Started to flash. Then my air conditioning turned off, my brakes stopped working and my power steering went out. Luckily I was pulling off of an exit. After finding out that there were 5 recalls, I took the Jeep to a dealership to have them fix it. I picked it up a few days later after they said it was ready. The day after picking it up. . . I was again driving down the highway and the Jeep did the exact same thing!!! again luckily I knew the signs and pulled over quickly but still lost control of the vehicle because power steering and brakes went out.

My 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo 4x4 has randomly but continuously stalled or hasn't started up successfully for the past year that I have owned it. This has caused much stress, anxiety, and inconvenience for me, my wife and young daughter. We live with the constant fear of being left stranded throughout or own city or worst yet stranded out of town during family road trips. This is completely unacceptable and undesirable as loyal Jeep vehicle owners of several different Jeep models including two Jeep patriots and one Jeep liberty. This past Friday I was unable to start up my Jeep to go to work and was left stranded in my garage. I had to miss work that day and have the Jeep towed to a local authorized dealership where it is still parked four days later unable to start up and is undiagnosed or repaired. This is causing me and my family much financial hardship due to my wife and I having to alternate missing work or trying to borrow a spare vehicle from other family members. I hope to have a remedy as soon as possible by the manufacturer as this issue and subsequent recall has been in effect since last year 2019. I hope that this complaint does not fall on deaf ears and that a solution is developed and provided to me and my family right away.

My vehicle is already part of a recall issued 11/14/2019. The company still has no repair for this recall, I have a hard time figuring out how this is reasonable for a company to take this long to solve a problem do I have any recourse in this issue?.

Vehicle does not start as it should consistently. Vehicle has an inconsistent delay in moving forward after stopping at a red light and will have a jerk/jumping feeling in the transmission after the delay/stall from moving forward. This has been an ongoing issue since December 2019 when I initially took the vehicle to get looked at and the dealership states they do not have parts to fix the issue as of September 2020!.

We purchased a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Nov of 2018. There was a safety recall (v62) Nov of 2019. The malfunction causes the car to stall. There has yet to be a repair for the recall. It is now sept of 2020 and our car is still stalling and unsafe due to an unfixed recall that is nearly a year old. We still must drive the car which is a hazard to ourselves and others because no remedy or replacement is available. This is irresponsible and dangerous.

I heard about this recall in 2019, according to NHTSA website, the recall is from November 2019. I have checked month after month with the dealer I purchased the vehicle from and no word on any parts or fixes. It's now July 2020 and still nothing has changed. I'm getting worried more and more daily about the problems that could happen if the recall issue is not taken care of. It will be 1 year within only a few short months.

I was driving on the capital beltway 495 in maryland when all the lights in my car came on and then turned off. After that my car completely stopped accelerating, my check engine light came on as well as the abs light and a lightning bolt light where my speed is displayed started flashing. I was able to get to the shoulder of the road after almost getting rear ended. When I tried to turn my car back on all of the lights kept flashing and the engine wouldn't turn over. After about 30 minutes all the lights went out and my car was finally able to start. Off and on my car keeps telling my to check my gas cap even though I've replaced it and it's always on there tightly.

There is an open recall on this vehicle since 11/2019 which states that the vehicle may stall while driving. I have been waiting to get the vehicle in but the dealership says there has been no fix given by fiat/Chrysler and I have to just wait. They have a list of other vehicles/owners waiting as well. The vehicle has stalled out twice while operating as well as numerous problems starting the vehicle (also part of the recall issue).

Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19v813000 (electrical system). The contact stated while driving 70 mph, the rpm starts to rise but the vehicle begins to decelerate. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated the vehicle would come to a stop and he would have to restart the ignition but it would hesitate and continue to experience the failure. The vehicle was taken to local dealer larry h. Miller casa Chrysler Jeep located at 9733 coors blvd NW, albuquerque, nm 87114, exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer had not been informed of failure. The part was not available for the repair. Parts distribution disconnect. The failure mileage was 60,000. Dp.

Existing recall has not been resolved.

Car shut down/would only crank would not start. No fuel to engine. Car shut down at street light. Tapped on relays in relay box under hood the vehicle started.

The vehicle stalls and loses power while driving without warning (or warning lights) happened multiple times. Restarts after 15-20 minutes.

Having issues with previous recall r09. The problem has resurface again. Just took the vehicle for repairs. Are others having similar issues with this repair.

Cranks and dosen't start.

The vehicle continues to die within seconds when the start engine button is initially pushed. Frequently have to to push engine start button again w/o pressing brake to turn power completely off, then push engine start button again w/brake to obtain full power of vehicle. This problem has been reported to Jeep on several occasions and has occurred for a couple of years. I have completed all recalls on file hoping this problem would be addressed. However, it appears to be worsening this summer, where almost daily I have to attempt to restart my car to gain full power.

Stalling and failing to start (starter keeps cranking but never turns over)leaving me stranded.

Multiple episodes of extended crank without start. Also several episodes of stalling without warning while driving - 1x in drive but another time on highway at night in traffic. All episodes have happened in 2017 staring August through 'now'. Car has been to dealer service 4 x without resolution. Currently with dealer being operated with a "flight recorder" as they did experience problem but couldn't identify the mechanical source - they contacted "Chrysler" for advice. I'm lucky, I'm driving a loaner for 3 weeks now from my dealership.

Will not start. Keep pressing and trying and finally will start after a couple of tries. Does attempt to turn over but will not start. Dealership cannot find anything wrong. Car was always in park and stationary. Seems to happen after trying to restart after short periods of time.

Dash indicator lights and wipers come on randomly while driving. Vehicle won't start on multiple occasions after shutting off. Tachometer and analog temp gauge are approx. 90 degrees off.

Vehicle either does not start or starts and turns off right away or randomly shuts down.

I am afraid to drive my vehicle. The first issue happened a few months ago, the car refused to start and had to be towed to the dealership to get fixed. There was an electrical fault, and could have happened at any point. Currently the vehicle has been at the dealership since November 10th. The vehicle hesitates before moving forward when I step on the gas, then something engages and it jumps forward. Sometimes it comes to a stop before it rapidly accelerates. The Jeep has been at atlantic Jeep for almost four weeks and the dealer has not been forthcoming in explaining what is going on. They can't seem to figure it out themselves and I am in fear of driving this car in the future if the same problems occur. There seems to be a big risk of having a crash with the issues described above. This happened on highways, streets, slow or fast didn't seem to have an affect. This has been a major issue, and is very scary for me as a driver.

Dealer requires that I leave the vehicle at the dealer's repair shop for an entire day and that I pay them a rental fee for a loaner car during that period. I will not pay to have these manufacturer defects corrected. There are currently four (4) outstanding recall notices on this vehicle and they will not fix any of them without compensation.

Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph the vehicle suddenly stalled and shut off the vehicle was towed to the local dealer lustine Dodge located at 14211 jefferson davis hwy, woodbridge va. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The contact indicated that the vehicle was previously serviced under the NHTSA recall 19v813000(electrical system) and 15v115000(electrical system) but the failure continued to occur. The failure mileage was 50,000. Jft.

This is my second recall for this problem dealer never has parts to repair also I have a recall for p60 that was never repaired.

Check engine light came on and was followed by loss of power while accellerating from stop light.

After driving to work 29 miles while waiting for day shift to get out so I can get a parking spot while in park with the engine running for around 15 minutes I then put it in drive with my foot pressed very hard on the break pedal the engine revs up to a very high rpms and my Jeep moves forward even though I have all my pressure on the brake and I am a male at 210 pounds. This has happened over a dozen times since I have owned this vehicle. I bought this vehicle brand new and the dealer I bought it from says they can not find anything wrong. It is going back to the dealer Monday 2/23/2015 again for this problem and to replace a shock. The last time they said all they could find was that the trany fluid was low not shure what that has to do with my problem. Anyway I really love my Jeep however this is a very dangers problem. I work at Chrysler second shift and when day shift lets out there are over 100 workers leaving and if my foot was not pressed firmly on the brake I could have hit one of them. I have the 5. 7 hemmi engine and personally I think it is a computer issue however I am not a mechanic so like I say that's just my personal thinking. The vehicle mileage I gave you is a close guess I am not able to get the exact mileage at the time I am sending this to you. Should be give or take around 100 miles. I received a safety recall for my Jeep Grand Cherokee limited sometime early January 2015 (r09), and was told that that the parts were not available for repair at that time. To date I have yet to receive any word from Jeep as to when this repair will be started or completed. Why is it taking so long for a safety issue to be resolved?.

In general, the car would not start when brake was pressed and the start button was pushed. This happened six times. First four times the engine would just turn over but not start. Last two times, the engine started for about two to three seconds then died. Attempting to start it again resulted in the engine turning over but not starting. During all of the six attempts the engine only started and stayed running after three or four attempts. When I've taken the vehicle to the dealer I was told that there may be a bad win module, which was supposedly replaced. When asked about the tipm I was told that they have to begin diagnosis starting with other parts.

I was driving home from a ski weekend in upstate NY in January and traveling on the interstate at approximately 65mph, the temperature outside was below freezing and I went to apply the brakes to slow down for upcoming traffic and the pedal was hard and the brakes did not engage, I pumped the pedal and remained calm and hoped that the power would come back to the pedal and luckily it did after a 3 pumps to the pedal and took about 5 seconds. We avoided a near fatal collision if it wasn't for my quick thinking and remaining calm. I brought the car into westbury Jeep who told me nothing was wrong with the brakes and returned the car to me, I then continued to have the problem reoccur on cold days when the temperature was below freezing. The dealership did nothing and now a recall was issued for the exact issue I described and the dealership still refuses to repair it because they don't have the part. I want the repair done ASAP!.
