Recall v62/NHTSA 19v-813. Fuel pump relay recall. Responded to the recall and a new wiring harness was installed. This has not fixed the problem. While stationary, vehicle has false starts almost on a daily basis. By false I mean car will crank but does not start. At times while in motion, vehicle will run sluggish and check engine light comes on. This is the second replacement harness installed .
Jeep and fca refuse to fix the fuel pump relay on my Jeep. They claim they only get one part per month and cannot fix my Jeep. I have called 5 different Jeep dealerships and fca us corporate office and was told the same thing. How is this legal? they won't even tell me the name of the part so I can replace it myself. I have been trying ti get it replaced for half a year.
Recalls 19v-913 and 15v-115 around the 28th day of December, 2020, I was in public street on my way to my mother's home at night in my vehicle. The vehicle began to slow down. I began to push the engine pedal and it didn't reacted. It was difficult to push the break. I was near the entrance of the community gate and, because I was driving slowly, I was able to put the car on neutro and managed to enter the community and left the car inside the gate community because was not able to reach my mother's house. It was very scary and dangerous situation, because I could have been hit by a car by the sudden slowing of car velocity and while turning left to the community gate in neutro. Called Chrysler dealer to inform them that the same stalling situation that occurred the several times they inspected my car for previously, happened again. They told me that the soonest appointment they can give me is in the 18th of January of 2021. The car is stationed waiting to be towed to the dealer. This would be at least the 6th time the car had this problem, and the third that I have to tow it. The first time the car was towed was in April of 2018; that time they replace the fuel pump/module. In September of 2018, the external fuel pump relay was replaced. The car was brought to the dealer again in March and November of 2019 for the same problem but they alleged nothing was found. The last time was in the 11th of August of 2020, when the car was towed to the dealer because it stalled and could not be turn on; the fuel pump relay control circuit overlay harness was replaced, (according to work order). Just after four months, the car stalled while moving in the middle of a transited public street at night. This happened previously, but the car manage to recover quickly while driving. This is why I began to drive slowly. More than two years and still the safety issue persists.
Received recall notice 12 months ago - v62/NHTSA 19v-813, fuel pump relay. A engine stall while driving can cause vehicle crash without prior warning. Vehicle has been in shop 2 times in last week with issues with the etc (electronic throttle control) caused by the fuel pump. Failure to start from a cold and a warm start has happened 6 times. First repair cost $553. 66 and today's repair of the fuel pump while covered under warranty (since the first recall part failed) doesn't help fix the problem. Should not take 12 months to resolve an issue of this magnatude. It is very stressful driving this vehicle with the knowledge that it is having issues and could fail and cause a crash. How soon will this recall be rectified?11.
The car has shut off while driving due to the fuel pump relay issue. We have taken it in to the dealership to repair; however, they state it could take a year or more due to limited supply of the parts required. The car is inoperable, but Chrysler is refusing to provide a rental car or offer a reasonable purchase price. Please help or let me know who can!.
I had to replace the alternator and wasn't aware of recall t36 and now my fuel pump went out (recall v62). My truck was stalling at first, now it won't run at all. When I called the dealer and they said there were no replacement parts in stock. The cost to repair out of pocket is $1450. 00. Additional information, is available upon request. Thank you!.
A recall was issued November 14, 2019 to replace a fuel pump relay that can result in a no-start condition or an engine stall if the vehicle is running. A vehicle engine stall while driving can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. This recall was issued almost a year ago and has not yet been resolved. I am concerned about the safety of driving this vehicle. I contacted the fca and they suggested that I take the vehicle into my Jeep dealer to have it analyzed to see if there if anything wrong with the relay that is currently installed. I took my vehicle into the Jeep dealer and they told me that putting it on the analyzer would do not good. I want to know when this recall will be resolved.
On September 1, 2020 shortly after starting the vehicle and while in motion, the engine stopped causing loss of control of the vehicle. I was able to bring the vehicle to stop in roadway with hard pressure on brakes. Fortunately, no contact was made with person or property. I attempted to re-start the vehicle but it would only crank and not start. Several minutes later was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle has had trouble starting on many occasions prior but this was the first time it stopped while driving. The only indication the vehicle had lost power was when I attempted to slow the vehicle and turn the wheel. Prior to this the dealership has examined the issue on at least four separate occasions spanning years. I have been told the fuel pump relay has been replaced twice on this vehicle. After both of these alleged repairs the vehicle has exhibited the same symptoms and returned to the dealership. In the last visit with the dealership on June 23, 2020 and phone call with fca us llc's customer service on September 1, 2020 I was directly informed that no solution exists. There is no advanced notice to the driver as this does not occur each time the vehicle is driven. When the vehicle does lose power while driving, no noticeable indication of this danger can be quickly observed by the driver. It was only noticed when I attempted to maneuver the brakes or steering wheel. This is a known and hazardous condition created by fca us llc. Which they have not adequately addressed.
While driving on a major highway in newington,va, my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo suddenly lost power. I lost acceleration, power steering and power brakes. This is the second time in a month that this vehicle lost power and reacted in this manner. The vehicle was towed to a dealer and two days later was repaired. This vehicle is under a v62 safety recall for a defective fuel pump relay. The repair was a temporary fix until Jeep comes out with a permanent fix. In 2015 this vehicle was recalled under r09 for the same fuel pump relay problem. Dodge durango vehicles have the same problem. Fiat/Chrysler/Jeep corp. Has known about this defective fuel pump relay since 2011 and have yet to come up with a permanent fix. There are thousands of these vehicles on the road and they are all death traps. Please put some pressure on Jeep corp. To fix this deadly defect in their vehicles. Peoples lives are at stake!! the worst part is that car dealerships can resell these used vehicles knowing there is an open safety recall that has not been permanently fixed. The uninformed consumer is buying a vehicle that will kill them. For god's sake do something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
11/13/19 failed fuel pump relay car would crank no start 1/23/20 failed fuel pump relay car would crank no start 7/17/20 failed fuel pump relay car stalled while driving on city street.
I keep experiencing the same issue -- vehicle won't start after long extended crank and then shuts off. Approximately two years ago the entire fuel pump was replaced, yet the same issue has reoccurred. This time it was diagnosed as a wiring issue to the fuel pump relay. Fiat Chrysler automobiles (fca) refused to reimburse January 2018 and again July 2020. There is currently an open recall (v62 / NHTSA 19v-813 and r09 / NHTSA 14v-115) with no remedy related to the fuel pump that renders the vehicle unsafe to drive. I have requested they replace or refund the vehicle.
March 2020, I went to a Chrysler dealership to have a recall repaired on my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee, due to issue with my car starting. I contacted mopar regarding the procedure to repair the fuel pump relay recall. I was advised no parts were available yet, and the dealership should use a replacement part to temporarily repair the recall. Recall v62 was repaired, along with 2 other recalls, stated by the service department in March 2020. June 8, 2020 my vehicle stalled while driving, I immediately informed the dealership, and I was told the repair never was completed. After speaking with mopar and representatives at the dealership, the dealership failed to submit the correct documentation to mopar, also gave me misinformation, and the temporary fix failed. The vehicle had been hesitating to start after several times for a week and a half. The vehicle then shut off at a stop light. I was able to start the car after several attempts, and it then stalled while driving in a busy area on June 8, 2020. I contacted and opened a case through mopar regarding the recall procedures after my car has stalled, and there is still no resolution to fix the vehicle. The representative informed me to "drive safe" and unfortunately there was no solution or timeline for the final recall repair. The representative stated that until my car has further issues, I would not be able to get a case manager. This policy is hazardous and causing a safety issue to me due to the already failed attempt to repair the recall, and no immediate or foreseeable resolution to the problem.
There is a long standing recall on the subject vehicle fuel pump relay. However, Jeep is unable to supply a suitbale replacement part. Unanticipated failure of this part can lead to immediate engine stoppage. Fca is unable to give a date when the replacement may be available.
Recall NHTSA campaign number: 19v813000 remedy says that we will receive a second notice when final remedy becomes available. It notes that vehicles experiencing a fuel pump failure will receive an interim repair. I have been to 2 dealerships and called fca multiple times to talk about this recall's interim repair and have been sent around with no answer. They seem to be purposely dodging any accountability for this interim repair they have promised. My vehicle has stalled multiple times on streets and highways.
Fuel pump delay. Car acts in start mood but does not do complete start. Delayed mood. This happens in park mood. Has not happened while I'm driving. . . Yet. When will a repair become available?.
My wife kendra was driving the said vehicle which is her every day vehicle to a doctors appointment on Feb. 7, 2020 and the fuel pump relay switch shut the fuel off causing 5he vehicle to stall as wife was attempting to drive through a 6 lane busy intersection. Wife was terrified because she couldn't maneuver vehicle to safety leaving her stuck with cars traveling at 45-50 mph through the intersection and she couldn't safely exit the vehicle. She called me for help and as I was on the phone with her two barely missed her with screeching brakes and her screaming. I was 2 minutes from her and as I was approaching the vehicle started. We brought the vehicle home and I immediately called Chrysler about the issue because I had already attempted to get the recall fixed but they (rockwall Dodge) said the recall part isn't available prior to this incident. Chrysler said I could take the vehicle to rockwall Dodge where they could do a temporary fix, whatever that is. That was Feb 7 2020 and I'm in a rental with no fix or temporary fix, that I call bs. This very dangerous for vehicle owners and may cause a death or serious injury to motorists. My wife has to drive over a 4 mile bridge 4 lanes east and 4 lanes west with only an outside shoulder between rowlett and rockwall TX with speed that vary between 70-90 mph, if it was to stall there she's very likely to be hurt bad or killed. To this date no temporary fix and now Chrysler and rockwall Dodge are trying to make me pay for a rental. Please put pressure on them to resolve this before there is loss of life.
Fuel pump relay - my car stalls when it wants and takes off really fast when it wants, and starts when it wants to transmission. - I am told there has been a recall on the transmission my car is slipping gears.
I had the original recall done for the fuel pump relay, after just over 2 years it stopped working and when it doesn't work the car can't start. They told me that I had the recall done and it was more than 2 years, I was no longer covered. I have replaced it twice already since then. I just received a letter from Jeep and they have put a second recall on this part. However they don't have the part which is about $10 and the car will not start without it. I called the dealership and main company and was told if I have a problem starting or stall while driving I am to have it towed to the nearest dealership and they will look at it and evaluate the problem and if the relay is the problem they will repair it with an over the counter part and will call me when the dealership part comes in. I asked how long it would take to evaluate my car if it was towed in to be fixed. No one could give me an answer. Only saying once they look at it and figure out the problem then I would be notified. Here is a quote from the letter they sent me a vehicle engine stall while driving can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning . So my question is, is this car safe to drive as is, and if not what are my choices. They have no answer for this. I am informing you of this problem, they didn't offer a rental car when I said what do I do with this situation. A $10 part and they don't have any, I keep 2 replacements in the glove box in case my car doesn't start but I didn't know the car can just stall while driving. That is very dangerous for everyone that owns one of these vehicles and the cars around them. It's a disgrace and I think they knew about this problem and didn't prepare to have the parts ready for this problem. I just hope no one dies.
Vehicle would not start on 06 Dec 2019; was attempting to start but kept making sputtering and scratching noises. Ac power works. Towed to dealership and decoded as a fuel pump relay (as stated in recall we just received!!) dealership refused to fix per recall.
Tried to start my Jeep it wouldn't start. I used the push button. I waited a few hrs and tried again. Same issue. Tried my remote start. Started up. Next day used the push start, started up no problem, on the highway (95) the truck was hesitating when going up an incline. Next day push start won't work, the engine would turn over as usual but wouldn't start. Remote start and it started up. Son took it and put it on the diagnosis machine and said there weren't any codes. Researching a hard starting problem I've read tons of posts very similar to what I have experienced. I called the dealer to make an appointment. Asked could it possibly be the same issue that my truck was re called on already. He said might be r09 fuel relay recall, timp problem, (recall was a temporary solution to install a fuel pump harness bypass so that the fuel pump turns off) but that if it is, the dealer said they already replaced that and will not do again unless it is pd for, after they put the Jeep on their diagnosis machine at $175. 00 per hr. So after they completed the 9th recall I pick up my Jeep with hopes that I could do more research. I also called Jeep. The lady was very nice but they will do nothing except add my complaint to their system. I found out that many people had the same problem as I do! Jeep/Chrysler have put faulty timp in these cars and do not want to put a recall out on them. Many cars with my model have had the same complaints. The faulty timp has the fuel pump running constantly which drains the battery it runs when the car is off. Now if I try to start the vehicle it smells like something is burning. After researching this problem I found the issue to be a timp problem and now am aware that I am not alone. There are hundreds if not more Jeep owners that are having the same issue.
Faulty fuel pump relay and tipm. Car will crank but not start. If the car starts it will stall.
About a month ago from this date, I remote started the vehicle before leaving my home, opened the house door and it wasnt running. I entered the vehicle and tried to start it with the key fob. Nothing happened other than the vehicle turning over without starting. Been this way since. It will start after many, many attempts by turning the key and eventually starting. There is no fuel pump noise when the key is cycled numerous time from acc to on position.
I had a recall on the fuel pump relay, I had it fixed on February 24,2015, today I had to replace it again, my car stalled 2x while driving,it also wouldn't start several times, would crank but not start. I called mopar and went to Jeep dealership and both refused to replace for free. I keep a spare with me now in case I have the same problem again. I don't want to be stuck in no mans land late at night. I have aaa also. I just hope this isn't going to be a constant problem.
A fuel pump relay failure can result in a stall condition if the vehicle is running or a no-start condition if not running. I use currently my car for works matter. I was very kind and I am very afraid to use the car and this prevented me from being late in my personal affairs ann I am emotionally affected because up to the mopars does not have solution.
Fuel pump relay recall completed over a year ago and fuel pump still quit on me 30nov2018 while driving over a bridge. Car will not currently start due to fuel system.
Fuel pump relay: our Jeep Grand Cherokee has been hard to start for some time. It just turns over as normal but doesn't start. The fuel pump relay has supposedly been fixed but it is acting as before the relay repair. Since the relay recall has been 'fixed', I put in a new fuel pump. It did not fix the problem. Jeep needs to step up and fix these!.
While driving, fuel pump quit working. After stopping, car would not start.
I was driving my Jeep Grand Cherokee on the street, turning the corner at an intersection, the engine lost all power, turned off, and I lost control of the power steering and vehicle in general. I almost hit a pedestrian that was walking on the sidewalk. This was a city street, the vehicle was in motion, and I was turning left. I have called the Jeep dealership repeatedly telling them about this symptom of my vehicle. I also have a problem with the vehicle not starting when try to turn it on, the engine will turn over repeatedly but not fire up. After several attempts, it sometimes will start. It is an intermittent issue. Other times I need to call a tow truck. I feel this is directly related to recall r09, even though this recall was performed on my vehicle, these are the same symptoms described, so I think the problem is back even after the recall. It is a safety issue and needs to be addressed by Chrysler/Jeep. I have contacted the dealership at river oaks Jeep/Chrysler on 4807 kirby drive in houston TX, 77098, and paid for a diagnostic. They initially were not able to identify the problem. After a couple days they said the fuel pump was not holding pressure and would cost $2000 to replace. I can not afford that right now, and I declined repairs. I called the headquarters for Chrysler/Jeep dealership and asked for them to pay for the repairs as this is a safety issue and a malfunctioning part related to a recall, and they refused. This is documented under case #34923344. I feel Chrysler Jeep should either replace my fuel pump relay again, even after it was already done once under recall r09, or they should pay to replace the entire fuel pump, as they are not able to diagnose the source of the problem with 100% certainty. This is a safety issue related to the engineering of their vehicles.
Engine stalls without warning while driving. No warning lights or check engine lights are present. Car refuses to start immediately after, but after repeated tries it starts again. Fuel pump relay of the tipm was replaced 30k miles ago by safety recall but problem has resurfaced.
Please reference my previous complaint 11114071 and 11114079 for exact dates of failure for July 2018. The primary and secondary fuel pumps were both replaced and the Jeep was returned to me on 8/4/18. I drove it on 8/5/18 once and then twice in the morning on 8/6/18. It sat in the parking lot at my work from 8:30 to 12:30 pm on 08/6/18. At 12:30 pm, the exact same symptoms of starting failure were happening. It started with turnover then immediately died. Then turned on after a 2nd attempt. Then at the restaurant I went to at approximately 55 pm, the Jeep completely failed to start. I have video recording of the failure and can produce that for reference. The vehicle is not starting and staying on consistently. The start results in immediately dying and then after a couple attempts like that, it eventually it just cranks and cranks until you shut off the vehicle. It's being towed a second time to the dealer service department. Additionally, a dome light in the front of the vehicle wouldn't shut off since it was returned to me on 8/4/18. It was never a problem before 8/4/18. This is a tipm problem and it needs to be recalled. The 3rd picture I've uploaded is a screen shot from the video I have of the vehicle not starting but cranking and cranking. The other two are captioned. I have this video and can send it.
Motor cranks and cranks without starting,,,heard there were recall on fuel pump relay. Why not 2013. This may be the fault.
During the week of July 1st, 2018 the vehicle died while driving at 30 mph. During the week of July 8th it cranked without turnover multiple times in the am, eventually starting and also during that week of July 8th, 2018, once while driving it died while traveling at 30 mph. On July 16th, 2018 vehicle cranked without turnover multiple times in the am, eventually starting. On July 17th, 2018 it started in the am but in the evening, cranked multiple times with no turnover and would not start again. On July 18th, I went back to where the car was left the evening before to attempt starting again. It was cranking without starting multiple times that day and never started. Had to be towed to dealership for service on July 19th. Service department replaced the primary fuel pump on July 23rd, 2018 after parts came in. I picked up the vehicle on the evening of July 23rd, 2018. Approximately 6 hours after getting the vehicle, it cranked for at least 10 seconds, twice, then started. And the following evening approximately 5 pm, July 24th, 2018, it started and ran for about 5-10 seconds and died. Vehicle started on the next attempt and I took it back to the dealership service department at 5:30 pm on July 24, 2018. The dealer claims it cranked on July 25, 2018 in the morning and then continued to start throughout the day. I am going to go back to the dealership to request the other fuel pump get tested. I am very aware that there have been multiple recalls on this model's fuel pump system. Recalls 14v-530 and 15v-115 do not include my VIN number and should because it was manufactured during the dates of . And further, the center for auto safety's petition against the NHTSA dated on July 15, 2015 (80 fr 45578) (document number 2015-18672) against Chrysler for the tipm failure should be reconsidered!!.
Per my previous complaint (number 11114071) I stated my VIN was not included in Chrysler recall 15v-115. That was incorrect. My VIN was included in Chrysler recall 15v-115. And the recall was completed. Meaning: the fuel pump was already replaced. So my previous complaint with fuel pump failure and cranking is a persistent and unacceptable issue that is deductively reasoned to be due to tipm failure. This failure needs to be addressed by the NHTSA.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland. The contact stated that while driving 35 mph the vehicle stalled out completely. The vehicle was towed to the dealer griffin hub Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram 5700 s 27th st, milwaukee, WI 53221 (414) 325-3333. They stated that the external fuel pump relay that was replaced from an internal fuel pump relay from an earlier recall repair was no longer covered by a warranty. The manufacturer was contacted and they verified the recall parts were covered by warranty for ten years but then refused to cover the fuel pump relay because it was again now external. The manufacturer will have their warranty department look into the repair request and call the contact back. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 110,000. Tf.
When you push the ignition button, the engine cranks but it won't start. It takes a few attempts before the vehicle actually starts. After it starts you start to drive it and the it stalls as you are driving it. This happens mostly when the engine is cold (mornings or after it hasn't been used for several hours). After researching it there is a fuel pump relay recall on same model and year as mine. The recall is for the fuel pump relay. . This is very dangerous when driving the hehe vehicle as it stalls at any given moment.
