I brought my vehicle to the dealership (axis Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram in jersey city, NJ) for open safety recalls. The vehicle has been at the dealership for approximately 3 weeks. I was repeatedly told parts were coming (alternator and brake booster), but the repairs were never completed. I was later told I could pick up the vehicle, but no documentation was provided and I have reason to believe the recall repairs were not performed. This has caused delays, inconvenience, and safety concerns.
The contact owns a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 mph and slowing for traffic, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the brake pedal was firm. The contact stated that added force was needed to depress the brake pedal to slow the vehicle. The contact almost had to pull onto the shoulder since the vehicle was not slowing as needed. The contact stated that word "brakes” in red was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the ready alert braking system had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact was advised by the mechanic that the failure was possibly related to NHTSA campaign number: 14v104000 (service brakes, hydraulic); for the hard brake pedal; however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
Brought my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee in for braking issues, was told abs module has failed. Dealership/mopar does not have a replacement part for the module and no aftermarket support is available. As a father with a 2y/o and a newborn, this seems unacceptable that a critical component such as the abs module is no longer available 10yrs later.
The contact owns a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 15-25 mph and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated before accelerating as intended. The contact stated that the brake pedal resistance increased while depressing the brake pedal, which required the brake pedal to be depressed to the floorboard. The contact stated that the emergency stop brake engaged unexpectedly while the vehicle was idling and while driving at various speeds. A "low battery" message was displayed, and upon inspection, the battery was hot. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who diagnosed failures with the tipm (totally integrated power module) communication and the transmission; however, the vehicle had not been repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously included in unknown recalls and was taken to the dealer where the recall repairs were performed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 14v391000 (electrical system), 19v813000 (electrical system), 17v572000 (service brakes, service brakes, hydraulic) and 17v435000 (electrical system). The contact informed the dealer bert ogden Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (8421 w expy 83, frontage rd, harlingen, TX 78552) of the recall notifications and was told by the dealer that the parts needed to be ordered however, the dealer never called the contact back to schedule a recall repair appointment. The contact stated that the vehicle would not start randomly but was unsure if the failure was related to the recalls. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
Intermittently the brake pedal will be very stiff when starting the vehicle and backing out. After a few miles it will ease up. But if a sudden stop is needed it is hard to push down again. Other times it functions normally. I noticed this on the test drive of the vehicle but the dealer said they didn't see any issues I bought this car around March of 2019. This problem has been ongoing intermittently.
The car has issues starting up and when you try to start the car the brake become stiff and the car will not start but will crank. Also as I was driving the car cuts off without warning or when I stop at the red light the car just cuts off and I have to put it in park turn the car off and wait and restart after 5 minutes and it starts with no issues.

I purchased a used 2013 Jeep 2 years ago at novak motors in farmingdale, NY. They told me I needed to go to a Jeep dealership to get the brake recall taken care of. I tried calling the closest Jeep dealership to my work location at 642 w main street, riverhead, NY and spoke with martha? in the service department today and she said it would be several weeks before the next available appointment. When I asked her if I have warranty work, an open campaign that needed to be fixed, would I be able to get in sooner? the woman then replied to me that they were no longer accepting any new customers at all!.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced failures after it was repaired per NHTSA campaign numbers: 17v572000 (service brakes, service brakes, hydraulic), 15v879000 (electrical system, interior lighting), and 15v115000 (electrical system). The dealer (stevens creek Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram, 4100 stevens creek blvd, san jose, CA 95129, (408) 248-1800) performed the recall repairs. The contact felt that manufacturer campaign number: t-36 and NHTSA campaign number: 17v435000 (electrical system) regarding the alternator assembly failed to provide a permanent solution. The contact heard a ticking noise and a fire occurred within months of the dealer's recall repairs. While pulling into a parking area, there was a strong burning odor and smoke appeared under the hood. The contact parked and exited the vehicle. Upon inspecting under the hood, the contact noticed flames near the alternator assembly. The fire extinguished on its own. Afterwards, the vehicle was unable to be locked electronically, start up, and be driven. The vehicle was towed to huntington Jeep Chrysler Dodge ram (1220 e jericho turnpike, huntington, NY 11743, (631) 673-0270), but they did not inspect the vehicle to determine if the failures were related to any of the recall campaigns. The vehicle was still at the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was not available.

While driving my car in the city, I experienced a sudden engine shutdown, and entirely lost control over the car (steering, breaks etc. ) the car was towed to Chrysler's certified garage, where the malfunction was identified as a failure of the fuel pump relay (the same relay which was already been replaced, as part of recall r09). The garage also re-confirmed that this relay has been replaced under the recall, in 2015. The meaning of this failure demonstrates that practically, replacing the unit under recall r09 has not solved the problem and the risk is still there! I have reported this incident to fca in europe, and was responded that this failure "could happen in 5 years old car" and therefore, there is no safety issue that requires them to warn other owners. However, I have found on-line lots of similar complaints, most of them in the us, indicating that the failure of the replaced fuel relay is common, and that fca do not take responsibility. . 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Consumer writes in regards to brake booster water shield amd alternator diode thermal fatigue safety recalls. The consumer requested information on having the safety recall completed. The vehicle had been transported to ghana, where it will remain.
I have called Jeep dealership 3 times to get these two safety recalls fixed. Each time they say one of the recall parts is not available and wait until we can do both at same time.

Have tried 3 times to take the car to a Jeep dealer and they are unable to do the recall repair due to lack of qualified mechanics to do the recall. One dealer gave me a confirmed appointment and after waiting 3 hours for my vehicle, they said they didn't have enough mechanics to repair it that day. I had to leave with the car in the same condition I brought it in. I cannot afford to loose any more work and they tell me they don't give loaner cars for recalls. I will never buy a Jeep again. Their dealers are very unreliable and don't honor their service appointments even when you are waiting 3 hours for the car. My vehicle's recalls are a safety concern. I still have to pay the bank my monthly installment even if the car is not safe because I must honor my contract with the bank. How about Jeep dealers honoring their contracts with the factory.

When pulling out of driveway, foot brake was applied but accelerator revved up and car lurched forward into traffic. . Barely avoided an accident. This is a serious safety issue. Contacted original dealer who said this was not a recall item and was dismissive. I requested that my complaint be put on file.
On Saturday 3/11/2017 I attempted to back my Jeep down and out of my driveway. I immediately noticed that the brakes felt strange, and that as I depressed the pedal the Jeep was not stopping. Confused, I hit the e-brake to stop the Jeep and attempted to pump the brake pedal several times to see if there was resistance. The pedal felt better, but I could hear a hising sound, like a vacuum leak. I went on line and saw that there was a recall for the brake system for my vehicle, which coincidentally was the same problem I had experienced. What caught my attention was that the recall mentioned water intrusion into the brake booster and the potential for freezing and reducing the braking effectiveness. I live in pittsburgh, PA, and for 3 days prior to my brake issue it had been rainy, and mild. Friday night 3/10, the temperature dropped and Saturday morning 3/11 it was 20 deg f. I cant help but think the temperature, and moisture played a role in this incident. I'm just glad it happened right away instead of once I got out into traffic. The Jeep is currently at Jeep in moon township, PA for troubleshooting.
My vehicle is equipped with Chrysler's ready alert braking system (rab) which Chrysler says is not installed on my vehicle according to it's VIN. The rab system on my vehicle (which was recalled under your campaign 14v104000) caused an accident with injuries exactly you described as the reason for your recall campaign in the first place. Chrysler refuses to acknowledge vehicle is equipped with the system. I have owned the vehicle from new and the rab system was even demonstrated to me by the dealership salesperson during my original test drive. In addition to accident/medical reports, the broken ankle bones could only have come from unforgiving hard brake pedal, during the crash as our vehicle failed to stop.
Plain and simple, I bought my Jeep new in 2014. It was equipped with ready alert braking (rab). In 2016 it failed to stop causing an accident and injuring my wife. Then recently I discovered the rab system on my car had been recalled (14v104000) back in 2014 and I had never been notified. As I reviewed the recall campaign it was abundantly clear it had caused my wife's 2016 accident and injuries. I contact Jeep's hotline relating in an odd quirk I had received written proof in an unrelated correspondence from Chrysler that my 2013 was built with the rab system included. Instead of trying to remedy the recall oversight they told me to "contact my insurance company. " a week later I tried to re-explain the fault was with their factory installed and recalled ready alert brake system on my vehicle. Because they won't bother to review the proof I hold nor believe their build (VIN) data is wrong I have no place to turn except you or a legal remedy. I hope you can motivate Jeep to do the right thing. Thank you.
My Jeep has stalled twice while I was making a left turn. Both times it stalled without warning and I lost all power steering + power brakes. Both times I had about 1/4 tank of gas. The first time I was able to restart my car right away. The 2nd time it took me a few tries to get it restarted. The dealership claims they can't find anything wrong with it. I've opened a case with Jeep.
Dealer requires that I leave the vehicle at the dealer's repair shop for an entire day and that I pay them a rental fee for a loaner car during that period. I will not pay to have these manufacturer defects corrected. There are currently four (4) outstanding recall notices on this vehicle and they will not fix any of them without compensation.
