1 Brake Sensor problem

Failure Date: 10/13/2020

The forward collisin control was turned on. It started beeping when no one was near me at all from any side of vehicle. Then the brakes slammed like it was preventing a rear end collisin by my vehicle. My car slid to a stop at approximately 40 miles an hour. It scared the crap out of me and I have had that safety sensor option turned to off ever since this incident.

2 Brake Sensor problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2020

The Jeep randomly won't start and brake pedal is firm this stranded me 6 times and dealer can't figure out because nothing displays and then it works I have heard sensors and brake boosters but neither are on recalls.

3 Brake Sensor problem

Failure Date: 08/20/2018

My 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee ,shut down while I was driving in the issaquah fall city road . Steering wheels locked and brakes failed and everything shut down. I barely made it to the walgreens parking lot where the vehicle completely died to the point where even the keys wouldn't work . I barely made it alive . I am glad I didn't crash into anyone . I had to tow the vehicle later in the day to the dealership . They asked me to drop it off at their garage . Today they got back to me saying , there was an open recall on the vehicle and that caused the alternator to fail and shut down everything . They said because it's an open recall they would fix it themselves as it's covered under some warranty . But they also told me that there is an issue with some oil pressure sensor and the awd system is stuck in awd and they will have to fix it and have me a parts and labor charge of 2000 usd which I have to bear . Is this normal practice . I don't know how the awd system suddenly got into this state . If it's a result of the alternator issue caused by the open recall , wouldn't they manufacturer/dealer have to bear it . . Thanks !!.

4 Brake Sensor problem

Failure Date: 11/05/2016

Multiple problems with the forward collision warning (fcw) and adaptive cruise control (acc) systems 1) system will issue false brake warnings (and apply brakes if enabled) on clear straight roads with no other cars or obstructions. 2) system will disable itself at random intervals disable itself for a period of time (10-20 minutes). Only notification is brief "fcw/acc system disabled" notification in gauge cluster - no audio warning that important safety system disabled itself. 3) when using acc, when vehicle resumes set speed after autonomous braking, vehicle will accelerate into back of next vehicle ahead - have to manually intervene and apply brakes to prevent collision. Note that this vehicle uses a bosch lrr3 radar sensor system for the fcw and acc features. Vehicle has been into Jeep dealers for service for this issue five times, and even after opening star case with Jeep/Chrysler fca, still no fix for this serious safety issue.

5 Brake Sensor problem

Failure Date: 02/18/2015

I was driving approximately 40 mph on w. Maple rd in troy, mi in the middle of the afternoon on February 18, 2015. There was minimal traffic on the road and no one in front of me in my lane or the lane next to me. Suddenly, my dash lit up to brake and the car started braking on it's own. It happened so quickly that I wasn't even sure what it was. It happened again about a mile down the road. Again the system applied the brakes and the warning word brake flashed on my dashboard when there was nothing near me. It happened quickly and then the car went back to normal without me doing or changing anything in the car. I brought it to the suburban Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram dealership in troy and they said they were not able to recreate. No codes were activated in the computer and there were no service bulletins about it so there was nothing they could do. I took the car home and the same thing happened again to me five days later driving at approximately the same speed. This time the dealership kept the car longer, drove it 119 miles, used the miller tool kit to align the camera and still found nothing wrong. The following week, it happened again and I returned to the dealership. This time they replaced the front sensor and bubble aligned. The only thing that the dealership found was that on one of the test drives they couldn't get the acc system to work at all and still no reports showed up on the computer. The next test drive all systems were working, again no report on the computer of the change. The dealership still could not duplicate the problem but they thought that they fixed it. In may, it happened again. It occurred while I was merging onto the expressway traveling at 63mph. I returned the car to the same dealership and again it was returned to me without being able to diagnose or fix the problem.

6 Brake Sensor problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2014

1) driving ~ 45 mph. 2) parking/crash detection sensor on the front driver side makes audible noise for 2 seconds, then noise ceases - this parking/crash detection issue was reported to the dealership 3 days prior. 3) all consoles go blank, to include speedometer (which is digital), temperature, navigation, etc. (driver & center consoles) - hands free phone call linked within the vehicle disconnects midway through call at this time as well. 4) engine appears operational, but seems to be in a lower gear and acceleration is problematic, brakes are sluggish. 5) electrical system in the vehicle reboots while driving ~10 seconds later, displaying multiple warning messages (check engine light, low battery voltage, no abs, suspension system, etc. ). 6) pulled the car over at the first safe location ~1/4 mile. 7) vehicle would not go into park, applied emergency brake and turned vehicle off. 8) restarted vehicle, check engine and low battery voltage light remains on, but vehicle appears stable enough to drive ~2 miles home.
