Power Steering Pump problems of the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Sudden loss of power steering fluid. Reservoir empty and no warning indicator lights on. Fluid all around bottom area of engine compartment around the power steering pump.

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving at an unknown speed, the steering lost power without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the electric power steering pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was in the process of being towed to zeigler Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (847-565-2442, located at 208 w golf rd, schaumburg, IL 60195) for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided case number: 68248550. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.

Takata recall as I was driving on a street and was trying to turn, my steering wheel stopped working. It wouldn't turn at all so I had to pull over and call for help. I got it to a shop and the electric power steering pump went out.

Steering wheel locked up while driving, was told by mechanic it is the electric power steering pump. Also a week before the drivers headrest suddenly deployed while driving (Jeep has never been into a car accident & I am the original owner to this 2014) was told it will be at least $2000 with all parts & labor. This is very serious and dangerous and I have read the steering wheel has locked up on hundreds of others while driving. The Jeep did not turn off when the steering wheel locked up. While driving to get out of the road the engine revved up at 20 mph and the Jeep did not want to go- had to switch into sport mode to continue to drive out of the road way and the engine revving calmed down. The head rest is broke and can not go into its regular position. Did not get a price estimate on that yet. This should be fixed by Jeep!!!.
