Radio/screen delimitation. Known issue by Jeep for years now; obvious safety issue, when the screen starts doing phantom touches it is very distracting to the driver. Also, as the glue melts, it leaks onto the wiring of all the components under the screen including the ac, all the parking sensor and traction control off controls. Phantom phone calls/cannot turn on/off heat. Radio does not just power “ radio”. This is a safety issue!.
Uconnect screen with radio/nav/driver controls is delaminating, causing screens to change and overriding all driver selections. Safety issue. Multiple complaints on Jeep forum and class action lawsuit in 2022 which has been closed due to overwhelming number of complaints. It’s a well known issue with fca but they refuse to issue recall. Backup camera freezing and hand free difficult to use. Distracting and unsafe. Fca needs to issue recall!.
The driver's side door lock will no longer operate using the key fob, lock/unlock button inside, or automatically lock when driving. It will only operate to unlock when the handle is pulled. It is available for inspection. It is a safety hazard due to not having a locked door when parked or when driving. The problem has been confirmed by clj in justice. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance. There are no warning lamps or messages.
Yesterday, March 18, 2023, the sunroof in our 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee exploded while we were driving on the highway. The weather was sunny and mild (52 degrees. ) we were driving in an open area (no trees) and we were not close behind a truck or other vehicle. The explosion was extremely loud and terrifying. We initially thought we'd been shot at. The driver (my husband), myself (in the passenger seat) and our dog (in the back seat) were showered with broken glass. The remainder of the glass blew out towards the car traveling behind us. We are fortunate that my husband was able to keep calm and get us safely off of the highway without further incident. As this occurred around 5pm on a Saturday, we will report this issue to our insurance and local Jeep dealership on Monday, March 20. There were no warnings or indication of an issue with the sunroof prior to this incident.
In June 2022, recall z48/NHTSA 22v-426 was announced. The recall impacts the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland we purchased in September 2022. At the time of purchase, a remedy for the recall was anticipated "soon" and "in a timely manner," according to both the manufacturer and dealership. Nearly 6 months since the recall was announced, there is no remedy. Our business prohibits use of any vehicle with an open recall. Efforts to use the vehicle for other purposes, including rental services (such as turo, among others) have failed due to the open recall. We have incurred significant financial loss of income as a direct result. The manufacturer refuses to offer a replacement vehicle, refuses return and will not compensate for losses incurred. The manufacturer and dealership both confirm there is "no remedy expected in the immediate future". The vehicle is financed through the dealership, and ongoing payments are expected from the finance company, even as we cannot use the vehicle for its primary purpose. A remedy has not been provided as required "in a timely manner," and the manufacturer's refusal to compensate or accept a return of the vehicle egregious.
Backup camera sometimes stays on after shifting out of reverse and it takes many tries to turn off. It also sometimes comes on randomly while driving and won’t turn off right away.
Ublock radio information center screen delaminating leading to eventual failure.
Power rear liftgate top attachment stud holding the power drive to the body of the vehicle sheared off, causing the very heavy liftgate to come crashing down. Fortunately I was able to jump back. The liftgate probably weighs about 150 pounds. It seem that a small 1/4" stud that holding this in place is not adequate for the load. There does seem to be some internet discussion of this happening to others. This vehicle only has 40,000 miles on it.
The u connect screen is delaminating! I’m afraid some features may stop working.
The ignition mechanism of my vehicle. The push to start. I was driving and the push to start mechanism just fell inside its housing. I've never seen anything like this. Luckily, I wasn't driving very fast. I was able to slow down and park. However, I could not turn the car off. I had to get out of the car and try to find the ignition button which had apparently fallen out of the housing. After feeling around through a hole underneath the steering wheel I was able to feel the ignition in order to turn it off.
Recall (22v-426) is now 6months old with no solution. Is car really safe to drive? cannot sell it. Isn't 6 months too long?.
Radio screen is DE-laminating (glue failing) and randomly makes calls and mutes calls for hands free. Changes my a/c settings and such. This is a safety issue when I am driving because people are distracted enough that I don’t need to worry about the radio messing up. Not a recall yet but so many people have had issues with this part.
After getting new tires my vehicle becan to have issues shifting at times mimicking a stall or stutter at times. I didn’t not having any vehicle warning lights. Because of new models of Jeeps that have an “automatic”’ feature that can not be adjusted manually. I took the vehicle in for service to the local Jeep dealership. Upon their running diagnostics they determined a needed a new driveshaft because the vehicle was istuck in low drive. This is a design and safety flaw.
I have a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee trailhawk currently around 33,500 miles. I bought this vehicle new and have been having issues with it since I got it. I hear electrical crackling and popping throughout the cabin, mostly in the dashboard. I thought at first it was the adaptive cruise or forward braking system engaging, but the sound seems to be completely random. A common symptom is the speakers, microphones, and speaker-based safety alerts are completely cut out. If I'm on a call, the person on the other end will not be able to hear me until the speakers come back. Some of the systems that do not work as intended include: -- radio/siriusxm/apple carplay/android auto (no sound) -- uconnect voice command (no sound/mic) -- parking sensors (no proximity alerts) -- usb ports (slow charge and do not recognize phones) -- forward collison alerts (no sound) -- navigation alerts (no sound) -- blind spot alerts (no sound) I've tried the system with the following phones (with oem and high-quality aftermarket wires) on at&t, verizon, mint: -- iphone xs -- iphone 12 -- iphone 13 pro max -- samsung galaxy note 8 -- samsung galaxy note 20 -- samsung galaxy note 22 -- samsung z flip my Jeep has the panasonic uconnect system. I've attached pictures of the type & imei etc. This issue causes a direct safety concern when an alert doesn't activate or a when the loud electronic distortion comes through the speakers that will cannot be turned off—causing me to have to pull over and turn the car off for the sake of my hearing.
I was driving my 10 year old son to school. We hopped in our Jeep in the garage. Pushed the start button and my son smelled something that was burning. I backed out of the driveway and then my son said there is smoke coming out of the center counsel. I pulled over and looked in the counsel and saw a fire. Ran to the house and got a fire extinguisher to put it out. Fire was out out for a short time, but then burst into an all out fire. The car burnt to the ground. Nothing remained. So far the insurance company and Chrysler cannot pinpoint what caused the fire. It is a total loss and the damage was too extensive to determine the cause. My son and I are very lucky we got out of the vehicle in time and everyone was safe. The vehicle was a lease and had only been serviced for oil changes by our Chrysler dealer. No alarms or visual indicators forewarned us that anything like this was going to happen. The vehicle is a total loss and we don't know why it caught on fire. Chrysler denies any form of responsibility. Just looking for answers and hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.
Experiencing transmission problems. Vehicle stuck in third gear - safety mainly at highways - can coase crash. And/or make harsh jerks at reverse gear - very dangerous. Confirmed by local central Jeep garage. Warning lamps first appear at June 2022, problem appeared at winter 2022 (Jan-Apr. 2022).
The infotainment screen is faulty, it is delaminating and causing a lot of distracting and dangerous driving issues: - rear camera and warnings do not work correctly - screen flickers, and changes screen which is very distracting while driving. - screen will randomly turn on or off and change settings. It has been ongoing since December 2021, I took it to the dealer who told me it was just a software issue and it would update and fix it. It never did. I took it back (now out of warranty) told me they would fix it and ordered the part. After trying to contact them, 6 weeks later, they are now refusing to fix it. Jeep are telling me the same thing.
Uconnect gps not showing correct location uconnect screen delamination.
I noticed that when it rains water leak in my truck on the driver side from the brake pedal. I has soaked the carpet and mat several time and also caused mewdow problems the vehicle was stationary at the time in sumter SC at my home.
While driving down a road, at 30mph, it all of a sudden stalled out. Power steering stopped working, engine was dead, it said on dash to "shift into park". I managed to pull into a parking lot. Put it in park. Turned it off, then attempted to restart, it wouldn't start (sounded like engine trying, then not turning over. I then turned it off again, and tried, and it turned on. I was able to make it home, but a car shouldn't stall while driving at 30mph down a road.
So for a couple of months when the vehicle is in drive, it will spit when it's in gear. Like I'll push on the gas and it will go but sometimes it will stall and then go again. It stopped doing that for a couple of weeks but today I was reversing out of my driveway and it said shift to p before putting in gear (keep in mind the car was in reverse). And the car was spitting as I was in reverse. I checked to make sure it was completely in the reverse gear and it was. So I put it in park and then reverse and it was fine after that. But I saw this post on facebook not long ago, a women had I believe a 2017 Jeep cherokee, she was driving on the highway and her car popped up a notification shift to p. Right after that her car automatically stopped and she wrecked. My car said the same thing to me this morning while I was in reverse. There is no recall on my vehicle as of now, and I am scared for mine and my families safety. Please investigate this.
I was driving home and the Jeep switched to neutral on its own and flashed "shift to park" on the screen. I had to roll to the side of the road, put it in park and turn it off. I am scared to drive it. I have kids. If this happens on the highway we will be hurt.
When we put the car in reverse the back up camera comes on but once we put it into drive the back up camera stays on for quite sometime. . . Dealership in carson city nv could not duplicate it so we are stuck.
Hello. I have found many issues with my uconnect system and what appears to have been compromised (hacked). I have reported this to Jeep and the sirius/cm system. 1 occasion my sos/assist feature was deactivated while I was in the car. Another time light changed from red to green on another occasion without touching it. 2 system was reset and showing phones being connected that had been totally removed from uconnect system. 3 on more then one occasion my uconnect links/apps were not loaded. . . Totally disappeared after being there and car was on for more then an hour. 4 settings button/ option to adjust important information sometimes not on screen. 5 map navigation giving misdirection and had me driving in circles back to my starting point. 6 screen freezing and not allowing me to disconnect phone/change screens. . . Also had issues where my screens would jump from one thing to the next without touching anything. Do not know if my uconnect was accessed during the time period my phone was hacked into and I hooked it up through carplay or if a "lock link " was used. I've done my research because I thought all these were odd and it is not uncommon for "low lifes" to get into these computer systems. I have been working with phone company, Jeep fca case management, apple on the issues of my hacked phone and uconnect system.
I purchased the vehicle new last week and the collision avoidance system doesn't work. I returned the car to colonial Dodge-Jeep in hudson, MA yesterday with 130 miles on the car they verified that doesn't work, but do not have any 'fix' for it.
While waiting stationary to turn on a city street, the car was in the auto start/stop mode. As soon as I took my foot of the brake to begin turning, the car completely shut off and started flashing warnging lights and cycling through several warnings like fcw indicator disabled. The car also told me the lane departure sensor was turned off as well. The car continued to flash these lights and cycle through multiple other warnings and refused to shut off. At one point the car even turned on the windshield wiper blades by itself.
Took my car to the dealer because the sunroof is leaking they tried to fix it twice failed the second time I took it the complete drivers side floor of my vehicle was wet they said the reason why it was wet because it the sunroof bolts had rusted it is less than a year old and already has rust .
The ac does not stay cold. It cycles from cold to like warm and humid several times per minute. I have taken the vehicle in to the dealer several times. They have drained and recharged the ac to no avail. They have told me other customers complain of the same thing in the 2019s. It happens while the vehicle is stationary and in motion. This is a known issue that no fix has been established for.
Serious safety defect that has remains unremedied since recall z48 (fca 22v?426) issued in 2022. This defect, addressed again in recall 94b (fca 24v?838), continues to disable the electronic stability control, making the vehicle unsafe to operate. Fca has had considerable time for the opportunity to fix since the first recall, and defective conditions were not repaired and still exist. Fca has been very dismissive with the several complaints I’ve field. I’ve been promised call backs every step of the way, even specific time frames and still have had to chase them down when I am not responded to. Fca issued “do not sell” orders on November?14,?2024, preventing me from trading or selling the vehicle without significant financial loss. I cannot accept any further proposed fixes, since no effective repair exists, and the vehicle remains dangerous.
94b - 3rd complaint 14 months with no fix. Car actively malfunctions since Jan 2025 e. G. Disabled esc. Federally non complaint. Unsafe. It has now been a year since my vehicle started experiencing symptoms. Fca us llc refuses to communicate with me. Took to dealer 12/16 and now the part is available after a year of nothing available and needs to be ordered supposedly. A month later and I have still not received an appt for the parts that should have come in. Againnlwaving me in a federally non compliant vehicle for a year. Fca has not contacted me “. I’ve called sent certified letters etc.
