Hybrid battery system, still don't have heat after 2 years of car ownership. Not to mention the hybrid battery failure rate, I've driven several times and the vehicle will just have no power. I bring it to the dealership almost monthly and they always have some excuse. The vehicle's lane assist is also a hazard. I'll just be driving down highway and it'll just jerk the wheel randomly.
Randomly, and without warning, the instruments, gauges, and displays will switch into a language I do not speak or understand (italian). Coinciding with the switch to italian language, cluster and radio display settings revert back to default settings, auto door locks and paddle shifter becomes inoperative (with no menu to enable), pedestrian emergency brake (peb) lamp or forward collision warning (fcw) lamp turns on with no way to disable, units of measurement including speed, temperature, etc. All change, and many other random settings change as well. ***this is clearly a dangerous situation because of all the functions and gauges that change, and the fact it is difficult if not impossible to recover from this due to the language of the setting menus, and the complexity of discovering and navigating through all these changes. I have taken it to the dealer twice, and they say there is nothing they can do and to wait for a possible software update, but none has come and it has been over a year. When this happens, even if one is able to wade through all the settings menus and change setting back, some items cannot be reset (like the fca off lamp). Almost caused crash twice!!!.
While driving on a local neighborhood street at approximately 38 miles per hour, ( cruise control possibly engaged) , all the lights on my dashboard suddenly illuminated. A messages appeared stating that service was required for every guidance and braking system. At that moment I became concerned, so I attempted to use the brake. Despite pressing the brake pedal as hard as I could, the car did not slow down. I cannot remember if I downshifted using the paddle shifters on the steering wheel, but I was able to coast to a manageable speed and pull into a parking lot. I then turned the vehicle off and on again, but all the warning lights remained on the dashboard. After waiting for about five minutes, the vehicle was restarted, and this time none of the warning lights were on. Since I was very close to home, I drove the rest of the way very slowly. Later, I searched online and discovered that other people have experienced this same problem. Some of the information I read suggested that water can get into a component, and it had been raining on the day of the incident and the day before. My primary safety concern is what would have happened if I had been approaching a stoplight or driving on a freeway where I needed to stop suddenly. I am confident that I would not have been able to stop in time to avoid a crash. It is frightening to think of what could happen if a child were to run into the street and this happening. I immediately made an appointment with my local Jeep dealership. The dealer has since driven the vehicle 98 miles but has not yet been able to replicate the issue.
The adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking have not worked properly for over a year. Sometimes I get a message that the aeb/acc is not working and to see the dealer other times I have a light lit showing it is not working. On some occasions there are no signs of it not working but ate acc works like the regular cruise control and does not slow the car down unless you apply the brake. The car has been to the dealer 2 pervious times with no long term fix it is now there again out of warrantee waiting to be fixed. Last time was 05/06/24.
2022 Jeep grand wagoneer series ii. Thia whole vehicle is a death trap!! since owning this vehicle it's been one issue after another with one dealership visit "repair" after another. With each repair the vehicle gets worse and the problems aren't fixed. My vehicle has been in & our of service over 20 times in the passed year. We even had it in for a 10 hour repair, where they said they fixed "all the technology". But that still doesn't work. We had it upgraded, but that doesn't to make anything better. . . It's slower than molasses & freezes - but that is the least of my issues. . . It seems like the dealership is doing nothing to help me & just putting band-aids on these issues, so I've finally decided to open my mouth. Not only are "minor issues" such as the radio not getting fixed, there are issues like my check engine light constantly coming on, my power steering going while driving, heating/cooling seats turning on and off whenever they feel like through out the drive & the adaptive cruise control frequently decides not to work. This vehicle is going to kill me and my family because everyone is downplaying how serious everything is, mind you the power steering went out while I was drving my soon to football. This whole vehicle should be recalled. I thought I was going to love this car, but it has been nothing but a nightmare! my Jeep is back in service for the power steering issue. Who knows how long it will be there. Or they may give it back and say "hey, it's good. " like they've been doing. Buyer beware. If you're thinking a grand wagoneer. . Think again!!.
The forward collision warning light comes on display cluster during start indicating it is turned off. Adaptive cruise control does not appear to be working because it doesn't give warning upon closing in on the vehicle in front of my vehicle and I have had to react by tapping brake to turn the cruise off. Parking collision warning works intermittently. These problems showed up after a software update done at dealership. When I took it in recently was told they could not find any problems.
While traveling/driving with the adas on, the brakes slam on detecting a front end impact. The dash board disappears and the word brake in all red capital lettering with a very loud beeping coming through the speakers happens. The first time it happened was in oct of 2023 and has happened every time I travel using the adas. I have made an appt every time I’ve gotten back to town after traveling to have it looked at. #1 I’ve been told they can’t find a problem with it, #2 it’s been recalibrated 3 times and the service manager even asked for my permission to take my vehicle to his personal home for the weekend so that he could follow the fca guidelines after it was recalibrated because it had to sit for a time period before it was drove. My Jeep app can show the history of its location. While traveling home the weekend of April 26, 2024 the brakes slammed on 3 times simultaneously causing all traffic behind me to lock up their brakes. Had I gotten hit I would’ve become a human pin ball across 3 lanes of interstate 80/90. When I pulled off on the side of road so did the vehicle who almost hit me, I was so shook up I was in tears #3 I got told to not use the feature since I knew there was a problem, #4 I asked if there was something they could install to record what’s going on #5 they finally installed an “in flight recording module” the time before I drove home but upon return saying it recorded information but that they don’t know the reason why it’s doing it or how to fix it. I’ve never received a single invoice from the dealership when I’ve taken it in for this ever!!!! I’ve only been told they have “star cases” on it and that is enough to prove its a “buy back or lemon”, the last message I received from a service rep at the dealership was from Jul 25, 2024 about seeking a buy back. I sent a message today (Aug 25, 2024) asking for a plan or solution to this problem. I’ve heard nothing yet again from anyone!!!!!! I’m beyond frustrated!!!!!!!!!.
Lower control arm bracket failed. Yes available for inspection. The adaptive cruse lane assist function malfunctioned. Yes available for inspection. I was injured. Police inspected the wheel and called it into question a manufacture defect in the police report. Manufacture (Jeep) acknowledges it but has been unresponsive. No warning when the wheel assembly disengaged (wheel, brake, tie rod, control arm, stub axel from the vehicle) traveling at 67 mph prior to crashing into a barrier.
Ac/hvac: experienced multiple occasion where the system (front and rear) turns on and quickly varies between settings with no way to override. Engine: when speeds are in excess of 80mph front passenger vent makes excessive noise in line with engine rpm’s “auto drove” ineffective due to lane departure inop, after service for above incidents radio is extremely intermittent.
This is my personal assessment: my vehicle didn't visit the dealer yet and there are no warning lights of any kind and the answer to all the above bullets is no. Two main issues, 1) intermittently, when press the gas pedal from idle stop @ traffic light, you will the engine revs but the vehicle either doesn't move or move very slow. In either case, relasing gas and pressing again remediate the situation. This occasional can produce a dangeourous situation and put lives to risk. 2) the second issue is regarding active driving assist system adas, also occasionally when the system is all green, steering wheel and all, and ahead of me there is 1/4 of a mile to red traffic light and the road is open for me. I am driving about 50 miles, now approaching the stopped traffic, and suddenly the vehicle start to speed up when it was slowing down for the traffic a moment ago. Something very unusual, I abruptly press the brake to force manual stop. The car then doesn't show this symptom for a few days but occasionally it comes back again.
Shortly after purchasing the vehicle I engaged the adaptive cruise control. It worked fine until such time as I attempted to pass a large vehicle such as a semi truck. When I would get along side of the truck the brakes violently slammed on without warning. The vehicle has been taken back to the selling dealer for repair and they were not able to fix it. (see uploaded repair order). I then called Jeep customer care who then sent me to another dealer for a second opinion. This dealer attempted repairs twice, both without success. When I took it back again a dealership employee rode with me and took a video of what happens when passing a truck with the adaptive cruise engaged. This dealer now has it for the third time and so far the vehicle has been there for about 9 days with no indication of any progress. Even if they "fix" it I am not confident of the safety of the vehicle as it would be very easy to be hit in the rear end by a following vehicle should this happen again.
