While driving, the vehicle sends a message that the automatic cruise control has shut down, the car starts slowing down and doesn't respond to pressing on the gas. Only recourse is to move off to the side of the road, shut everything down and turn it back on. The batteries show two miles left on the electric system. This is the second occurrence. Both have occurred at highway speed.
We have a recently purchased Jeep l with 5200 miles on it. Never off road, just a family commuter. Today my wife was driving the car for the second time and the power steering went out completely and it was very hard to turn the wheel. A bunch of other likes came on like the adaptive cruise and active lane management and front collision icons. The dash was lit up with warning including a large steering wheel icon in red. We shut the car down and restarted multiple times and the issue was still there. After 15 minutes of being on the phone to get it towed to the dealer, the issue went away on the next start with just a check engine light remaining.
While driving the vehicle on two different occasions. One was out of town and the screens and dash board going black. I tried turning off the vehicle and back on to reset it. It did not work! then on another occasion the screen went black would not power off. The dash screen read alm and cruise control unavailable needs service. I drove straight to the dealership and showed them. They scheduled service the next day. Got a call one of the service technicians was aware of the situation and stated Chrysler needed to provide a recall on the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee or create an update for the software system. Vehicle is still not fixed. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle.
When ever I try to charge my Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe summit reserve it fails to charge on a level 1 or level 2 charger and then they check engine light comes on and a electrical burning smell from the hybrid battery and says service charging system. When ever you bring it to the dealer they just reset the code and says it works only for the problem to come back it also affects how the Jeep drives when this happens the Jeep doesn't want to accelerate properly and has other electric system issues like the wipers coming on randomly and the massage seats coming on randomly as well which can distract someone when they are not expecting that to happen the Jeep doesn't want to drive. I brought it to the dealer 3 times now and all they keep doing is resetting the code and stating its fine only for it to come back and this is a major problem and needs to be fixed as this is going to cause a major accident or fire since it has to do with the hybrid battery system.
