1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/12/2026

While driving the breaks faultered and I had to slam on the break. I had to press all the way down on the break pedal to slow down or stop. Also when stopped at a light the car turns off and puts itself in park. I had to turn the car off and back on again to fix it. My safety and the safety of others was at risk due to chance of a significant car crash due to faulty break system. I had a near miss accident due to this reason. I will be calling the car dealership to tow the car to have it inspected. The abs light came on as well as check engine light. Service power steering light also came on.

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2026

Unknown what actually occurs but the entire car shuts off while driving. It has happened to me twice in traffic. Once no warnings, the second time the tire pressure sensor fault flashed went away and then the entire car just shut down while I was driving. I had my child with me and was a scary moment could’ve cause a serious accident or potential death. Car was stuck in the road for over 30min before I could get it to restart and move to a safer location.

Dear sir or madam, I am writing to report serious safety concerns regarding my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee, VIN [xxx] , which still has 11 months remaining on the lease. During the two years of this lease, the vehicle has had several recalls and repeated mechanical problems every 2–3 months, including a recent transmission replacement. The vehicle is currently affected by recall 68c. I have maintained the vehicle responsibly and completed oil changes on time. Recently, while driving on the freeway, the dashboard began flashing red warnings and the vehicle lost power, forcing me to slow down in traffic. With help from highway service patrol, I managed to move the car off the freeway. The vehicle would not restart properly and required several attempts before it began working again. I scheduled an appointment with the dealership for the recall repair and oil change. However, after one of the case managers informed me that my vehicle appeared eligible for the buy back program, my recall repair appointment was canceled. Later, my case was reviewed by mrs. Khushbu (customer retention specialist), who informed me that the vehicle was not eligible for buyback and closed my case (#[xxx]) without clearly explaining the reason. As a single working mother, I depend on reliable transportation. I now experience anxiety every time I drive this vehicle due to safety concerns. Two days ago, the same issue occurred again on the freeway — the dashboard flashed red, the gas pedal became unresponsive, and the vehicle stopped, taking 20–30 minutes to restart. Because of these repeated failures and safety risks, I no longer feel safe driving this vehicle. I respectfully request that stellantis/Jeep review this matter and provide a fair resolution. I am not interested in replacing this vehicle with another Jeep, as I have lost confidence in this model. Given the circumstances, this situation may fall thank you for your attention. I look forward to your response. Sincerely information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/16/2026

Dealer reported the incorrect mileage on my vehicle when I took it in for service. Now today when I came in 02/16/2026, they told me about this issue and it affected my warranty and also affected my car fax record for my vehicle.

5 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/27/2026

Traveling 66 miles an hour, using cruise control, car shutdown completely lost power. Went from 60 to 0 very fast. Stuck on the side of the expressway. Early morning freeway. Little to know traffic. Was able to maneuver thru 3 lanes to make it to the shoulder before going 0. Message displayed to park vehicle, wait until vehicle can restart.

Our Jeep has a nation wide battery recall (2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe) and we brought it in to be fixed. They said that it will take 6 weeks - months (they dont know) when the updated battery will be ready. They are saying we need to rent our own car as we wait, and we shouldn't take it home to drive because it's too unsafe and a liability. We have spent hours on the phone with Chrysler, Jeep, etc. To address this and they keep just bouncing us around or hanging up on us. In addition, we received a notice from Chrysler a few weeks ago that asked to ensure we had updated our deductibles and coverage specific to fire. It is clear that they are trying to cover their end of the liability of this massive safety recall that needs to be addressed. The dangers of driving our children in this car, along with the lack of trying to help resolve this issue is unacceptable and an example of corporate malfeasance.

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/17/2025

On December 17, 2025, I brought my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (30th anniversary edition) to los angeles Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram for safety recall 68c involving the high-voltage (hv) battery. The dealer performed the required recall software update/flash and diagnostic and confirmed the vehicle failed 68c, meaning the hv traction battery pack requires replacement. The vehicle remains at the dealer and is available for inspection. I cannot take the vehicle home even if I tried: per the recall process it must remain at the dealer once it fails, and the software flash/diagnostic effectively “bricked” the vehicle, rendering it undriveable until the hv battery is replaced. This defect involves the hv battery, a critical energy-storage component with serious safety implications. The problem has been confirmed by an authorized dealer; no police/insurance inspection. The dealer initially stated the battery would arrive around January 12, 2026, but it did not. At ~4 weeks out of service I called the dealer for an update—no eta, status, or tracking. The dealer has never proactively contacted me. At ~8 weeks I called Jeep cares—no eta, tracking, or meaningful update; they only contacted the dealer. I am still making payments on a vehicle immobilized at the dealer for ~9 weeks due to the recall remedy delay. I also did not receive the $100 recall compensation gift cards and Jeep cares has not resolved that. I am filing this complaint because the recall remedy is not being provided within a reasonable time, leaving me without transportation and without any timeline for a critical safety-recall repair.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2025

It sounds like the body of my car is detaching from the frame. Like my coil springs are loose or coming out.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2025

My family went on a weekend trip the day we left town the heat was working great. The next day we noticed that the heat was on but the air coming out of the vents was not as hot as the day before. We attempted to turn the heat off and back on still blowing warm to cool air. The heating system blows cool air at times. I took the vehicle into the dealer and they said the reason we didn't have heat was due to the electric battery needed to be charged. We could not understand why the car had to be charged in order to have heat. The problem has not been reproduced by a dealer. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/31/2025

My Jeep hybrid is under an active safety recall with no available remedy. The manufacturer has instructed owners not to charge the hybrid battery system, which means the vehicle cannot be used as designed. I am continuing to make loan payments on a vehicle whose primary advertised functionality has been disabled due to a safety defect. I have contacted Jeep/stellantis repeatedly through their recall assistance lines and have been transferred, disconnected, or told to call numbers that do not resolve the issue. No timeline or interim remedy has been provided. The vehicle is materially impaired, and the lack of a fix poses safety concerns and financial harm to owners. I am requesting NHTSA intervention due to the absence of any manufacturer solution or support.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2025

This vehicle can create a fire. My home is at risk, other cars/structures parked near it, and people who drive the vehicle are at risk of fire. This is the 2nd time we have received notice of fire hazard for this make/model. The dealership is aware of the problems. Check engine light stays on and nobody can figure out why. I cannot charge my car, park near anyone/anything, and constant fear of my car setting fire while driving it.

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/19/2025

Vehicle recall but manufacturer does not have a remedy and this is my only vehicle. My hybrid light came on and flashed off. Stellantis (fca us, llc) is recalling approximately 91,787 units of its 2022 to 2026 Jeep® Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (phev) due to a software error within the hybrid control processor that may result in a loss of drive power. An unexpected loss of propulsion could cause a vehicle crash without prior warning.

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/20/2025

I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the safety of my Jeep. My vehicle has been to the Jeep dealership approximately five times for the recurring service hybrid system error. Most recently, in August 2025, I received this error again along with a check engine light. Each time this error occurs, I notice that my Jeep drives differently, which raises concerns about its reliability and safety. At present, my Jeep has been at the dealership for approximately 25 days. The dealership has indicated that the issue is related to the 73c code. Despite repeated visits, the problem has not been permanently resolved. I am very concerned about my own safety, as well as the safety of others on the road, particularly because I have been informed that my Jeep is part of the 1% recall group. The ongoing malfunction makes me uneasy about driving the vehicle, and I strongly believe this presents a potential hazard. I respectfully request urgent attention to this matter and a clear resolution to ensure the vehicle is safe to operate.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/16/2025

While driving, vehicle begins shifting down and jerking to stop. Emergency brake engages while driving.

15 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/07/2025

Vehicle was parked and unoccupied and it exploded.

16 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/09/2025

My 2023 Jeep gc overland 4xe was at the Jeep service center for the same issue in a week. I get a service throttle control warning, cel, then every warning light on the dashboard lit up. It happened on my driveway the other day and I would not drive. I had Jeep roadside tow it to a Jeep service center. On 7/9/2025 I picked up the Jeep. Service tec said no open recalls, no software updates and the throttle body module was reprogrammed. A 14-mile test drive was done and the codes did not return. Shortly after pickup, while driving at 65 mph on the thruway, I got the same error message, service throttle control along with a check engine light and all warning lights again lit up. The Jeep displayed a reduced power warning, and many other warning but I didn’t have time to look at the dashboard. The vehicle slowed to a crawl in limp mode at 23 mph, the steering became very heavy and slow to respond. I was able to quickly move over to the shoulder, and I was almost rear ended by a tracker trailer. I got off the thruway, shut the engine off, then back on and was able to get full power back. I immediately drove it to the dealership service center. This is not safe vehicle to be in and there are many other reports of this happening.

17 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/29/2025

Unsafe, defective vehicle & refusal to remedy vehicle: 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe overlander VIN: [xxx] purchase date: [xxx] dealership: route 18 Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram, east brunswick, NJ I purchased this vehicle new in June 2023. From the first weeks, it has displayed severe, life-threatening defects that make it unsafe and undriveable. Despite presenting it to seven authorized Jeep service stations and contacting both the dealership and Jeep/stellantis repeatedly, no effective repair, replacement, or buyback has been provided. The SUV has just 1,000 miles yet has been out of service for over two years, resulting in substantial financial loss and hardship. Safety defects hvac/defrost failure: after 20–30 miles, the a/c stops cooling and blows only hot air. The blower often shuts off completely, fogging the windshield and reducing visibility to zero. Jeep has acknowledged this defect under NHTSA recall 24v111 (manufacturer code 04b), but no remedy has been made available. Hud mirror glare: the head-up display mirror is misaligned and reflects light from headlights, streetlights, and sunlight across the windshield, producing blinding glare and making safe driving impossible. Failed remedy attempts seven Jeep service centers refused long test drives, logging less than 5 miles even though the hvac issue occurs after 30–50 miles. Route 18 staff admitted seeing the hud glare but told me to “tint the windshield. ” management was dismissive, and Jeep/stellantis corporate has ignored all follow-ups for over two years. Impact and remedy requested I have paid tens of thousands in loans, insurance, towing, storage, and rentals for a vehicle I cannot safely drive. I request an immediate buyback or full refund, or replacement with a safe, defect-free vehicle, plus reimbursement of all related costs. This Jeep is unsafe and abandoned by dealer and manufacturer. Regulators must act now before more consumers are harmed. – [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552.

18 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/22/2025

While driving I received a pop-up message on the head unit advertising sirius xm. I had to clear this pop-up message while driving in order to continue using my map. I need to be very clear that I was driving at speed with a navigation route set and the map was obstructed by an advertisement that I had to touch the screen with one hand left on the wheel to click a pop-up ad. This was not a message from any attached devices. This was a system message from the infotainment unit.

19 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/05/2025

Monday 4/28, as I was driving at approx. 35-38 mph the vehicle came to an abrupt and hard stop, like someone just pounded on the brakes, the engine ceased running. A large red wrench looking icon and something about the battery flashed very quickly on the screen. After a matter of time (please note this was very frightening,, and am unsure of the elapsed time) the car restarted and I continued very slowly to a corner where I could pull off the road and contact the dealership. At the rate of speed I was traveling I was forcefully slammed into the steering wheel, there were cars behind me and in the adjacent lane. My dog in the rear compartment and in her kennel was also forcefully thrown. This vehicle has had on going battery issues and many others as well. This is not the first report I have filed. Vehicle has been at the dealership for one week, I had to insist upon a loaner which they could not provide. Jeep has a program for a comparable vehicle which they set up and which has not provided a comparable auto. I have had no word from the dealership as to repair and issue found. The ongoing safety issues with this vehicle and it's battery system are totoally unacceptable for me. The Jeep has spent 3. 5 months from 10/14-mid 01/15 parked due to fire or explosion possibility. It has been in the shop repeatedly for up to two weeks at a time with heating and cooling issues. This latest is just another in a long stream of problems unaddressed proprerly by the Jeep corporation. As the vehicle is still in the shop at the dealership I have no items to download at this time.

20 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2025

[xxx]. . . While driving the vehicle on the [xxx] the vehicle stopped and would not move. . . All systems failed. Warning lights, (flashers) would not work. Cause of failure was later determined to be a malfunction in the electrical system. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

21 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/10/2025

I started with the 95b recall when car owners were instructed to not plug in their vehicles or park near any other structures for about 4 months until a fix was released. Then my car experienced multiple service hybrid sysytem errors. The car physically shut down on two separate occasions, both while I was transporting my child, putting us at extreme risk for an accident. It has been at the dealership since July 2025 with the mechanic receiving a digital crash code. His attempts to talk with someone at Jeep/stelantis have gone unanswered. The vehicle is currently located at the Jeep dealership in los cabos, baja California sur, mexico and is available for inspection upon request.

22 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2025

While idling (vehicle running in electric mode) in park, for approximately 10 minutes we attempted to put the car in drive. The vehicle acted as if it needed to be turned on, displaying the message "press brake and push button to start" while also displaying a red battery light. Different warning messages came up showing traffic sign assist unavailable and others. We could not turn the vehicle off even with holding down the start/stop button, were unable to shift the vehicle either. Finally after ten minutes of pressing the start/stop button the vehicle finally shut off and we were able to restart it with no issues. The next week as I was driving, I would randomly get a warning light with a red wrench and a message that said service hybrid system. Both instances have happen two additional times. The vehicle is now sitting at the dealership and they are unable to diagnose the problem. This all has occurred after the 95b recall work was completed. This is a safety issue as the vehicle will not shut off and won't shift. So if the vehicle is parked inside of a garage and idles and then doesn't shut off that will lead to carbon monoxide leaking into the houses. Or being stranded somewhere unable to move your vehicle.

23 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2025

In February I had the 95b recall completed and a short time afterwards started getting a service hybrid vehicle system light and even a check engine light at one point. One of those instances with the service hybrid vehicle system light my car just turned off while I was driving it with my children in the back seat and cars behind me. I lost all control of the steering and vehicles power except it switched to the accessory. I tried to restart but it would not. I had to come to a complete stop, place in park, turn off the accessory and then restart the vehicle. The vehicle was seen promptly following the incident where I was told to drive it on esave and they would try ordering a part that could possibly be a fix. While waiting for the part the vehicle was seen at another dealership that recommended not replacing that part that there was no issue with the vehicle and to drive it on e save or make sure the battery had a charge while driving in hybrid mode. Which is not a solution. Since then I have had several instances of the service hybrid vehicle system warning lights and that includes while driving it on e save which is gas only. Unfortunately the warning comes and goes quickly while driving so it’s not always easy to take a photo while driving although I do have a few to attach.

24 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/06/2025

A known issue by Jeep affecting many Grand Cherokee phev hybrids, all following the 95 b recall. The recall repair 95 b is attributed to be causing red flag dashboard warnings to "service hybrid system". Dealer computer scans document these incidents as a "digital crash" of the vehicle's onboard computer. Multiple incidents for me have been transitory but for others, these digital crashes are causing engine shut downs on the highway -- see the attachments for 4 such cases downloaded from the Jeep website. Obviously crazy things can happen when a car's computer shuts down while driving -- no one knows if my next digital crash could shut down my engine when I am in a multi-car passing situation on a 2 lane highway at 70 mph and yet that scenario is happening to others. I have seen 3 Jeep dealers and have documentation on those digital scans for my vehicle-- Jeep is aware of the problem but they have no-fix. There are over 500 complaints on the public Jeep 4xe website across multiple conversation threads of people having this exact problem. You can see from the attachment that the dealers are telling owners that the cars are 'unsafe to drive' because they do recognize that the next digital crash of the computer will be a fatal accident. None of these problems existed before that recall was available in January. Something in that NHTSA 95 b recall for the Grand Cherokee phev was defective and is causing these digital crashes -- Jeep does not dispute that, at least from what I have been told. Jeep has to be required to do another recall to fix the earlier 95 b recall. It has been close to 6 months now without a fix and nothing is happening. It is probably a software fix, but it needs to be done and at this point it appears that they must be forced to do so by NHTSA. Please see the 4 attachments of what others have encountered. < on your below questions -- multiple incidents, multiple dates, multiple speeds for me>.

25 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/03/2025

Vehicle: 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee trailhawk 4xe problem description: while driving at highway speeds, the vehicle suddenly loses all propulsion and displays a message stating: “put in park before restarting. ” this happens without warning, creating an immediate safety risk in traffic. The engine shuts down, and I am forced to stop in the middle of the road, shift to park, and manually restart the vehicle. This has occurred multiple times. The dealership and Jeep customer service acknowledges the issue but says no repair is available and has not resolved it. I’ve also been without a reliable vehicle since February 2025. I am aware of NHTSA complaints #11579877 and #11576290 describing identical problems in the same make/model/year. I believe this defect is related to the battery or hybrid powertrain system and poses a serious safety hazard to myself and others. I am also aware of NHTSA recall 24v720000 related to battery issues, which may be linked to this sudden power loss. Symptoms: •sudden loss of drive power •“put in park to restart” message •dash warnings (wrench/lightning bolt/hybrid system fault) •must restart car to regain function date problem began: [Feb 2025] mileage: [17000] vehicle still unrepaired and unsafe to drive.

26 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/02/2025

On Sunday, February 2nd we were driving down the highway when the front sunroof on my wagoneer spontaneously exploded. Thankfully I had the shade closed, so it caught the broken glass. Had it been open, who knows what would've happened. There were no other cars around, no overpass. . . Just us on the highway. The dealer has the vehicle now, but it doesn't sound like it will be covered under our warranty. However, when I google "my wagoneer sunroof exploded," there are tons of results of people having the same experience.

27 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/21/2025

I have an on going unrepaired recall on the electrical system, charging system and possibly the battery. When apply the brake to start my Jeep the brakes sometimes are locked up and I have to push the start button a few times to release them. I was told that was normal at the dealership.

28 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/20/2025

Vehicle shut down completely while in the left lane of the highway. Thankfully she was able to maneuver it to the shoulder and started it back up and continued on. At 4 am. Another four days later, the Jeep failed to start in the parking lot of work. Threw every code, including the "red wrench"- service hybrid electric vehicle system, check engine light and other others. We abandoned it in the parking lot and checked the next morning. It started on a whim still with every light on. We were able to get it to the dealership where it has been since January 24. When we went to pick it up today, they told us it was ready to go and it road tested good with no lights on. When we got in it to leave, the red wrench and check engine light went back on. They don't know what the problem is. This was replicated by the dealership and the invoice states: "vehicle will not move. Pushed into shop".

29 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2024

Recall # 95b/NHTSA 24v-720 involves a critical fire risk associated with the vehicle’s battery, rendering the vehicle inoperable. I have been unable to use the vehicle for its intended purpose for over 60+ days due to this unresolved high risk issue. Moreover, I am unable to park the vehicle near my home or garage due to the fire hazard, which poses serious safety concerns.

30 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/16/2024

My camera system does not send the camera views from any of the 4 camera locations to my radio screen. Rear camera including when I put in reverse, front view and 360 degree view all do not report to the radio screen, it is black with the parking assist lines.

31 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/02/2024

Jeep cannot tell us when a test will be available to check the ev battery for us. They have no clue when a remedy will be available for this situation. This is unacceptable. They say drive with gas. This car always has some type of electrical charge even without hooking up to charge it. The system creates a charge to the braking system. It always has a small electrical charge so there is a risk of fire in this situation if we have bad battery cells. They are putting people at risk and need to be investigated. Jeep 4xe owners need to be assisted with tests now and repairs now or we need to have our leases and cars bought back. If these were faulty appliances or store bought products they would be returnable.

32 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2024

Rear tailgate will periodically just close. When this occurs, it is just after reaching full open. At times it takes extreme force to halt it in its travels. I have brought it to the Jeep dealer but it did not repeat while they were checking it, so they said there is nothing that can be done. I am reporting this in event it is more wide spread, as I picture a child getting hurt by this (needless to say, I do not let my grandchildren near this!).

33 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/21/2024

Open 95b recall. High voltage battery safety issue, can cause fire. Advised not to charge, not to park indoors, and away from structures. There is no root cause, no parts, no firm timeline and I the manufacturer has been unresponsive. Initial contact was 10/31, and I have not yet received any follow-up from them (though I have contacted them proactively 3+ times). This is a leased vehicle with 13k miles and the dealer is not helpful, the manufacturer is not helpful, and quite frankly this level of concern is unnerving, and escalated in terms of anxiety and fear for what 'could or might happen'. To top it off not only do we have one of these vehicles, but two of them, both impacted.

34 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2024

95b recall for fire hazard and told to park aware from structures and outdoors. I have to park in a parking garage. I have contacted Jeep multiple times about breaking a lease with no avail.

35 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/25/2024

My vehicle has two issues. One is the heating/cooling components. The car requires the heat to be set at above 75 to obtain any heat, most often it blows very cool or even cold air. It has been in the shop several times, for days at a time with no fix. Picked it up yesterday, they had it set at 77, blew cold air on the drive home, approx. 5 miles. The second and most alarming issue is the 95b recall for Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have had no vehicle for 3. 5 months following the recall. Although it did not state no driving, I have felt unsafe doing so. I have had to park in my drive, less than 20 feet from my own home and others while it could take fire even while parked. 1/2/24 I had the prescribed 'fix', a computer reset with no battery replacement warranted. My vehicle has had two battery recalls and one other incident wherein it just completely stopped working. I am no longer able to transport my grand children whose carseats sit over the defective battery. I have had to cease running parts for our self owned business. I have had to pay for a vehicle to drive including gas I would not have needed to purchase. The dealership where purchased would not keep the vehicle on its lot during the recall, they would not provide an alternate vehicle therefore I have lost valuable work and family time due to safety of the car. They also did not want to inspect the car during this time. Also winter on the street parking is not allowed in my community so again I was forced to put myself and others at risk parking near homes. I am seeking total reimbursment as I cannot safely drive. I purchased the car because I wanted to save on gas. Instead I cannot any longer us e the car for my intended purposes. I would appreciate hearing back. I have done all the required work, making the required calls to the manufacturer, receiving never a call back or any assistance there. I have followed up with the dealership, no help there either. Delivery date 2/4/23, milage is 22,533. Thanks.
