July 31, 2024, purchased a new 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee summitt (hybrid) from local Chrysler/Dodge dealer in las vegas nevada. Keeping this very high level, after the 3rd day the vehicle would not start. The dealer sent technician to our home however finally had to be towed to the dealer. The dealer inspected the vehicle on several occasions while continuing to work directly manufacture, however after weeks had been advised the parts did not fix the issue. Opened case (xxxxxxxx) with parent company of Chrysler (stellantis). Week after week customer service said they are working on the issue. Finally, at around 45 days we had to buy another vehicle based on need for transportation. Along the way we make vehicle & insurance payments every month. Additionally, we received a recall notice that the vehicle was subject to a fire. Do not park in or around buildings. At the 80-day mark we advised the dealer to get us out of this vehicle. Dealer said the vehicle is now a used car so must face deprecation plus loss of down payment. Based on no fix to original problem and risk of fire. Stellantis advised now that we do not own the Jeep, we are not eligible for any assistance or compensation for loss and thus cased closed.

Vehicle has a system to diagnose if the connected trailer has an inoperative bulb. The system is incorrectly assessing that the thule epos bike racks break lights and turn signal lamps are working, resulting in constant driver distractions from the warning lights. Every brake or turn the system beeps and illuminates warning lights when in fact there is no problems with the lights. Jeep refuses to address the issue as the bike rack is a "third party" accessory and thule says their system is working so it's a Jeep issue. Warning system is a nuisance causing distractions while driving.

My vehicle displayed a awd service indicator - took in replaced a module. Same indicator came on 3 months later and needed a front axle disconnect replaced. I only do normal street driving and my vehicle has under 30k miles. All repairs including recalls done at Jeep dealer 5 including recalls.

On 7/9/24 I was driving on the highway and Jeep began to lose power and speed. I was unable to accelerate to maintain speed or safely pull to the shoulder. Jeep completely lost power and stopped in the middle of the highway and I had to wait with hazards until I could successfully turn on the car and drive again. This exact thing happened again today on 7/16/24 it was very dangerous and scary especially since I was almost rear ended.

We were in a serious car accident. We were t-boned and rolled two or three times. We had to be pulled from the upside down Grand Cherokee. Our complaint is the fuel fill line broke and poured 23 gallons of raw gasoline into the car. My husband was overcome by the gas and and to be revived twice. I had blacked out due to the force of the air bags. We were okay with now, we were removed before the car exploded. The gas should have never entered the cabin!!! if our experience could help someone else we would be relieved.

The software controlling the driver information system on this vehicle is continually having issues. Randomly, the system will stop working with system rebooting while driving. Normal features like hands free phone calls and navigation will stop responding. This leads to driver confusion and takes attention away from driving the vehicle. Also randomly, chimes will bong with no indication of what is happening on the dash or vehicle display. Attempts have been made for an "over the air" software update via WI-fi per the owner's manual, but the owner's manual doesn't accurately describe the navigation and software options of the system (menus incorrect, options are non-existent, etc). This car can be frightening when it suddenly acts up in traffic and there is no indication as to what is happening. This has all randomly happened since the car was new and continues to happen. The date below is just an arbitrary date since it happens consistently since new. This has occurred at any speed or mileage.

Stellantis case # 90177098 travelers insurance case # i4v3783 without warning, the wheel collapsed and the vehicle rolled. Two other vehicles were involved in the accident. The Jeep was a total loss with driver injuries and alleged injuries from an individual in another vehicle involved in the accident. Vehicle is currently under investigation by insurance representatives, private investigators engaged by the insurance company, owner counsel, and now investigators by stellantis have been engaged. Suspected causation: 24v-132.

On 03/24/2023 at 1:30pm I was driving to work on the local streets when multiple warning lights came up on the dashboard. I immediately pulled over on the side of the road to see what was the problem. I decided to look under the hood and noticed the coolant reservoir was empty. I continued checking the engine compartment and noticed one of the hose that leads to the radiator had become disconnected. This was a dangerous situation because if I was on the highway,I probably would not have been able to pull over immediately and the vehicle might have shut down on the highway which could’ve resulted in an accident. I contacted my local Jeep dealer on 03/25/2024 and explained to them what happened. The earliest appointment I was given to have the vehicle inspected was 03/28/2023.

There is no heat in truck. It has something to do with the 2 way control valve. When driving you cannot defrost the front window when it fogs up and sometime freezes. Very dangerous to drive since it is winter here in NJ. Brought up to dealer months ago. Trying to deal with it but hard to drive in cold. Said it wasn't under warranty but it started before warranty was up. I see this as a safety hazard and there should be a recall on these.

New vehicle with under 4,000 miles was being driven on a busy parkway when the engine suddenly stalled and would not restart. No visible warning lights prior to stall. Incident occurred just past the top of a hill, creating the potential for a rear-end collision. A police officer was called and arrived, parking behind the stalled vehicle with emergency lights flashing in order to prevent a collision. The driver of the vehicle tried repeatedly, 5 or 6 times to use the vehicle's built-in roadside assistance to get help but got disconnected every time before a tow truck could be dispatched. Vehicle was in the middle of the highway for over 20 minutes. Dealer confirmed engine has seized and has to be replaced.

I was driving on a major interstate and my car suddenly stopped shifting the gears to allow for faster speed. Rpm's were going up to 6 and 7 and the fastest I could go was 30mph. I confirmed my vehicle was only in drive, and was not in a "sport mode that allows for manua shifting". Was able to safely get off the interstate and pull over, this could have caused a accident. Shut down vehicle and restarted and then performed correctly. Called dealership and they stated they wouldn't be able to get me in for 3 weeks and if the vehicle is now not doing it and issue can not be duplicated there wouldn't be anything they can do.

New vehicle within 30 days of purchase date. Vehicle had just turned a corner and went a few more feet driving approximately 5 mph on a flat asphalt rd. The rear end suddenly shook violently, making loud clunking noises and shut off. Vehicle put itself into park. Tried to restart the car and it would only flash all the warning lights. Tow truck took it to landmark Dodge Jeep in independence, mo. The shop determined right rear rotor broke in half, and caliper broke off. The rotor breaking cracked inside of wheel. No damage to wheel well, fender, under carriage or body of auto in any way. Turned in the issue to Jeep as defective. They refused to fix it stating turn it into auto insurance. We refused to turn into insurance as it is defective parts. We asked Jeep for a black box report. Jeep refused to run it, so we hired a forensic company to take the black box reading which confirms no possible collision incident. Both black box report specialist and landmark repair technicians note defective parts are a serious concern on this auto. This could be a larger issue for Jeep. If rotor had broken at a higher speed would have been very serious situation. We are concerned that other 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee owners could be at risk. Jeep has still not responded to our escalation request. They keep advising someone will call us, but it has been over 45 days with no assistance from Jeep in any way. Car is still sitting unrepaired awaiting Jeep wave escalation to contact us. We do not know if this situation is solely related to the rotor as it could be a larger issue with the vehicle traction control or drive line. We can provide the semke forensic investigative report findings done by a licensed senior mechanical engineer with NHTSA but ask NHTSA to independently investigate. This is a serious safety concern. Jeep has completely failed to respond or protect us as customers.

The radio, which included hands free calling, has been having issues of locking up, connecting calls but the caller not being able to hear the person in the vehicle. In order to correct the issue it requires the driver to reset the radio. This involved multiple choices on the interface to get to the radio reset option. This causes a major safety concern if done while driving. I have taken the vehicle to the service department at the dealer 4 times and been provided a star online publication (s238a000026 rev. A) dated October 2023 which states "intermittent radio concerns will be corrected in the 4th quarter radio software enhancement, updates over the air. " I is now the 2nd quarter of 2024 and the issues have not been corrected and this star online publication has not been updated.

The problem happens intermittently and not all the time. I will be driving on the highway or in the city and sometimes when I barely touch the gas pedal my car will accelerate at high speeds, and the rpm gauge will go all the way into the seven mark and it turns red and it starts beeping and the only way to get that off is for me to let off the gas pedal and come to a stop and then shift it from drive to park and then that’ll usually fix the problem. And other times when I’m on the highway. I will barely touch the gas pedal and it’ll accelerate at high speeds and I’ll have to go from the gas pedal to having to slam my brakes on to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of me. A friend of mine who had driven my vehicle, called me and asked me if I noticed that it was doing that as well and I explained to her that I I was aware. I have not taken it to the dealership yet for that problem yet however, I do have an appointment made. I’m just waiting on them to find me a loaner vehicle that will seat my six person family because I cannot drive a different vehicle that does not fit my whole family .

The system's failure to recognize voice commands and manage remote commands compromises the vehicle's safety features, including hands-free calling and potentially emergency assistance services. This issue is covered under warranty, yet despite repeated attempts to have it addressed by Jeep, there has been no resolution. The malfunctioning uconnect system, crucial for safe vehicle operation by minimizing driver distraction, is not responding correctly, indicating a possible hardware or software failure. Given the importance of such systems for vehicle safety and the refusal of the manufacturer to correct the problem under warranty, I am seeking your intervention to ensure the issue is adequately addressed. I believe this could represent a broader safety issue that may affect other drivers and request that the NHTSA investigate the matter further to ensure vehicle safety is not compromised. We are not sure if this is an electrical problem. But we reported issues that seemed unrelated up until now whereas a strange smell and electrical malfunctions existed from the moment we purchased the vehicle brand new. It is odd that only select services requiring telecommunications don't work, but they do seem to work to contact Jeep. We mentioned this smell as exhaust or burning smells in the vehicle but were told this is normal essentially and have still not gotten a response from a technical team that either doesn't exist or is nor actively addressing the issue. It seems to be electronics involved and uconnect may be tertiary to the issue.

Front panel of the panoramic sunroof spontaneously shattered with no visible causes, warnings, etc. Safety risks included potential glass being introduced to the cab of the vehicle had the headliner panel been open for natural lighting. Other risks include damaged headliner and electrical components depending on where the glass traveled. Dealership claims this is not an ongoing issue though multiple forums talk about this happening as well for the same style vehicle. We will be dropping car off at the dealership for evaluation as the car is covered under bumper to bumper warranty.

This is a new 2023 grand Jeep wagoneer series iii l with an inline six ho engine that seats eight passengers. After about 500 miles or less, we noticed the vehicle shaking at highway speeds. Since it has only worsened, it has been to the dealership four times for a fix, without a solution. They exchanged the pirelli tires for a michelin, which did not fix this vibration error. While at highway speeds, everything shakes; the front headrest visibility shakes a lot, and the water in water bottles in the center console has a funnel effect, which clearly shows it’s a vibration issue, not a bumpy road issue, also, while seated, the floorboard and the seats, motorist, and passenger you can noticeably feel the vehicle shaking; at one point, my wife started to feel sick. As a result, now she only rides in the back seat. This ultra-luxury vehicle has an intense vibration issue while at highway speeds; the roads are smooth, and we tested it across three states while doing a family trip; it's clearly something with the engine mounts, suspension, or a drive shaft that is not well balanced. The dealership told us that they could not do anything because they did not know how to fix it as they drove other vehicles, and some shook too, even worse at around 40mph. They stated this is normal for the vehicle. Well, it’s not normal for a vehicle, but it might be for this model because of poor engineering or qa parts issues. Either way, my vehicle is not safe to drive; with this vibration only getting worse, I fear it will cause a serious accident or damage the vehicle, shortening its life span, and at 120k, this should not be the case. We want what we paid for and want this issue fixed ASAP.

Since leasing my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe in July 2023, I’ve encountered severe and ongoing safety, quality, and performance issues that remain unresolved despite multiple service visits and direct contact with Chrysler customer care. The vehicle has consistently proven unreliable and unsafe, posing risks to my family and others. Key safety concerns include: trunk liftgate malfunction: the liftgate closes on its own, even with foot control disabled, failing to stop when obstructed, causing injuries to my [xxx] son and me. Proximity sensor failures: the sensors randomly lock the brakes with no obstacles and fail to warn of actual hazards. Steering wheel adjustment failure: the steering wheel became stuck in the highest position and couldn’t be readjusted. Gear shifting issues: in esave mode, gears fail to shift above 40 mph, and at times, the vehicle won’t shift out of park without multiple restarts. Defective environmental controls: the heater once failed during a 20°f drive, blowing only cold air for nearly two hours. Electronic malfunctions: random driver profile resets, faulty tire pressure sensors, unreliable remote start, bluetooth/auxiliary port failures, and phantom bluetooth devices. These issues put my family in direct harm and have not been resolved despite dealer inspections. Warning lights, alerts, and system failures occur intermittently, often without prior notice. I have extensive documentation, videos, and service records confirming these ongoing issues. Given the persistent safety hazards and failed repair attempts, I believe this vehicle is fundamentally unsafe and unfit for use. Despite nearly two months without the vehicle due to service visits, the problems persist, leaving me paying for an unsafe, unreliable car. I am seeking a resolution, including lease termination, to ensure my family’s safety. The spring coil has been recalled. Took vehicle to interstate Dodge in west monroe, la and they stated they are only allowed to order one coil at a time per week, so it will take 3 to 4 weeks to get the parts. I need both coils replaced. This is unacceptable and puts me in danger every day I have to drive it to work or store. I’m suppose to drive 9 hours away in 3 weeks to take care of my elderly parents.

Our 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee was recall due to the coil springs. I was in the shop being repaired for two weeks. They called us and told us that the problem was taken care of and it was repaired and ready. 20 minutes after we picked it up the coil spring flew off the car as well as other parts almost causing us to get into an accident. The parts flew out and behind us and then into traffic behind us causing other cars to swerve out of the way. Again, this occurred after they said, they fixed the very doing/coil that came out of our car. Very dangerous. We hv pictures of our son with the parts in his hand after looking and then grabbing them from side of road . We left the parts with hero dealership we hope they don’t try to re use them.

Airbag requiring service light came on at 100 miles. Then the sos call button was stuck lit up with an error message on the touch screen every time vehicle was started. Then the aeb system went off while driving (not in danger of being in a crash) and brought the vehicle to a stop and put itself in park and shut off. Vehicle would not start again after that. Had to get it towed.
