The above checked and visibility wiper and auto emergency braking lights come on occasionally for no reason while driving the touchscreen can get very hot and go blank at times the electric battery is not able to be utilized in cold or hot outdoor temperatures the heating system on highest temp occasionally blows cool air -not warm/hot the engine light came on last week and the electrical power system will not engage even with full charge.
So we where never notified of the recalls on are vehicle, we found out for are selves. Dealership never notified us of them at the last oil change, and now we are trying to get out of the vehicle.
Incident: frontal collision with a boulder at 30 mph. 1. Component/system failure & inspection availability the primary failure was the supplemental restraint system (srs); the driver’s frontal airbag failed to deploy during a high-energy frontal impact. Additionally, advanced driver assistance systems (adas)—specifically forward collision warning (fcw) and lane departure warning (ldw)—failed to provide alerts or initiate emergency braking prior to impact. 2. Safety risk the failure created a life-threatening risk. Striking a boulder at 30 mph caused substantial structural damage, requiring total replacement of the front-right and rear-right suspension assemblies. Despite the severity of the impact, the airbag remained dormant. The lack of fcw/ldw intervention meant zero mitigation was provided to prevent the roadway departure or collision, rendering primary safety features non-functional. 3. Confirmation of problem the fact that the airbags did not deploy was confirmed by independent inspection following the collision. Assessment of the vehicle damage shows that impact forces were clearly sufficient to trigger the srs, yet the system failed to activate. While adas failure is a dynamic event, the total absence of system logs or alerts during the crash sequence confirms the electronic malfunction. 4. Inspections performed the vehicle was inspected by an insurance adjuster and collision repair professionals. These inspections documented that the impact was severe enough to cause significant mechanical failure, yet no airbag deployment occurred. The manufacturer (stellantis/Jeep) has not yet performed a formal data download (edr) or physical inspection. 5. Warning lamps & prior symptoms no warning lamps, srs/airbag indicator lights, or "service" messages appeared prior to the failure. The diagnostic interface indicated all systems were "normal," pointing to a catastrophic "silent failure" of the sensors or the steering column control module.
On several occasions, fcw activated unexpectedly in low risk situations (in driveway, pulling into neighborhood) may 2024 & Nov 2024. While driving 60mhp on a 4 lane highway during rush hour on may 19, fcw activated unexpectedly; immediately taking me down to 20mhp. The “brake” warning and beeping remained with the brakes activated for 30-60 seconds. I was unable to accelerate. Vehicles behind me had to swerve to avoid impact. As I was pulling off the highway immediately following, fcw activated again and I was nearly rear-ended. There were no vehicles in front of me for a least a mile during these incidents. Vehicle has been inspected by 3 separate certified Jeep mechanic. All claim they cannot identify an issue with the vehicle as there are no active codes in the system. The dealer has not been able to reproduce the concern. It appears to happen every couple thousand miles. My safety and my family’s safety and other drivers are at risk if this vehicle remains on the road unfixed. The sudden braking could cause a major accident. Jeep refuses to address the issue. The dealer insists nothing is wrong because the issue is not found.
When driving down interstate five in san diego, my vehicle decided that it wanted to come to a screeching halt suddenly as the forward collision system activated randomly, causing my neck to jolt and a distill in pain. I had no idea what was going on, but in order to try to get out of the way of traffic, I quickly tried to override what the system was doing after coming to a complete stop, then the accelerator stuck getting the vehicle going over 100 mph. The hybrid system only shut down the gas engine, but the electric was still propelling the vehicle to go forward. I had to hit the button to turn the vehicle to gas only and shift into neutral in order for the vehicle to finally stop getting below 100 miles per hour to where I could safely pull over to the side of the road. I called Jeep and they laughed.
The system does not work in my 2024 Grand Cherokee. My dealer agreed to take me out for a drive and after several attempts to get the system to engage (straight on rear end, corner of a stopped vehicle, corner of an exiting vehicle) nothing! no audible, visual or brake jerk. The technician was an awesome driver because he scared the ---- out of us trying to get the system to engage. Service advisor had the tech take out another 2024 gc to perform the same test. We went with him. Same thing. . . . . Nothing. In both suvs multiple tests at varying distance setting were performed. They tried to tell us that nothing is wrong because when diagnostics were run there were no codes, no error messages so no problem. Told them that isn't good enough. They finally agreed to open a "star" (I think) report with corporate and I will be taking my gc into the shop on September 11th through the 13th. There are many other Jeep owners stating the same thing. Effects multiple models and multiple model years. [xxx] has threads that are discussing the problem and Jeep cares is a member of that forum. I have also seen complaints on a Jeep compass owners site. I believe Jeep is fully aware but many owners may not be familiar with how the system works. Dealerships are telling customers that they can't fix the system because the diagnostics aren't registering a fault. I had three incidents where I was cutoff by other drivers and the system did not engage. The system is supposed to work at 3 miles per hour or greater, but it doesn't work at all. Fca pushed an involuntary software update to our car on August 6, 2024. It completed about 75% of the update and froze, rendering our display and systems unusable. Our back-up camera only works intermittently as does many of the adas safety features. We have no temperature controls or radio either. We have been to the dealer multiple times and they are being told by fca that the entire unit needs to be replaced. A search of social media (reddit) shows that others may be having the same safety issue. The dealer says they have had four more incidents come into their shop.
