1 Warning problem of the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 03/20/2026

My son’s car drifted to the right past the white line and he ended up hitting a hydrant and continued at least 100 ft before stopping. Our dash cam showed a slow smooth drift to the right without any lane assist being activated to pull the car back. All safety features were activated and turned on the day we bought the car for him. It was the main reason we chose this model. He is very lucky to be alive. After the impact, the car just barely missed a business sign, a telephone pole and a tree. The car was declared totaled. Unfortunately, the total amount the insurance is offering is about 4k short of what we still owe. Words cannot express how lucky we are that our son is okay, but we are very angry that the features we bought the car for, failed him.

3 Warning problem of the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/09/2025

The active lane management (alm) system shuts itself off which the displays a warning on the the instrument panel to indicate it has been disabled. If you try to turn it back on manually, it gives a warning that the system is unavailable and service is required. It will not allow you to manually turn the alm system back on. I've taken it back to the dealership (9/7/25 repair ticket attached) where it was purchased but there were no computer codes shown to indicate what the problem was. They did an system update which did not fix the problem. Shutting off the engine and re-starting will clear this issue and you don't know when it may reappear (it could be the same day or possibly several weeks before it does it again). The service department has suggested I not shut off the engine but immediately bring it to them to see when this happens so they can run a scan for potential code(s) but they're an hour away and not always open when this occurs. My vehicle was purchased January, 2025 and has 10,300 miles on it now. I have a photo of the service required notification from September 4, 2025 showing mileage of 7,988 (attached). It had been doing this for approximately a month before I was able to get the photo. It continues to be an intermittent problem resulting in the loss of a safety feature of this vehicle.

4 Warning problem of the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 04/17/2025

The active lane management {alm} disengages and will not come back on unless you shut the car off. Took to dealer. Showed him picture of problem. Dealer could not get it to do it and said there were no fault codes showing. It has done this numerous times.

5 Warning problem of the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 03/24/2025

Aeb light comes on saying limited functionality service required. We have taken it to the dealer and they service department said no codes for that problem showed up and said if it did it again pull into any dealership and have them check it. It happens constantly so it happened right when in front of one of their dealership so we pulled in and they checked again and it did come up showing an electrical issue. They saw our pictures I was continuing to take of the dash showing how often it comes up. So I did just that and had a photo book, the size of a wedding album showing how it went off sometimes every two hours. *then the lane depart doesn't work, it will not vibrate, which we have all the settings on and set to the highest setting. Warning for cross traffic when in reverse doesn't always work sometimes it won't even go off when someone walks close to the back of vehicle. * on just a few occasion the rear door will not close when button is pushed, we have to physically close it. *sometimes it will continually slam on the breaks when we try to back out of our garage, taken several times of me putting in park and trying again. *also sometimes when backing out it won't drive when I put in drive, I have to put in park, then move it to drive. Is currently in the dealership, they have had it for 4 days and cannot figure it out but acknowledge it is happening.

6 Warning problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 03/01/2025

Airbags failed to deploy in a front crash. Passenger side curtain air bags deployed, but none of the others deployed. The lane departure or lane keeping assistance did not work. The vehicle slowly swerved off of the highway with no safety features kicking in to help keep it on the road. No automatic emergency braking started. The vehicle was still going with the cruise control on following the collision. As of 3/20/2025 the vehicle is still available for inspection. This is the first report of this malfunction. The local sheriff was contacted following the accident. I do not have knowledge of who all has inspected the vehicle. There were no warnings or messages that the safety systems were not working. Yes, our safety was at risk. As the driver of the vehicle, I have broken my c2 vertebrae in my neck.

7 Warning problem of the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 02/14/2025

The vehicle has ongoing electrical and battery system problems that cause safety and driver-assistance systems to malfunction or shut off unexpectedly. The vehicle has repeatedly been found dead after short periods of non-use, requiring jump starts and battery replacement. These electrical issues appear to affect multiple vehicle systems simultaneously. While driving, advanced safety features such as lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and proximity-based warning systems shut off, become unavailable, or behave inconsistently without warning. In some cases, warning messages appear and then clear on their own, while the affected safety systems remain disabled. At other times, the systems deactivate without any clear alert. The manufacturer and dealer have acknowledged battery drain and electrical instability, but instead of permanently repairing the underlying problem, certain features were disabled to reduce battery draw. These include proximity-related features and other driver alerts. Disabling safety and warning systems does not correct the defect and creates an unsafe condition where the driver cannot rely on the vehicle’s advertised safety features to function consistently. Because these systems disable themselves or are intentionally disabled due to unresolved electrical issues, the vehicle cannot be relied upon to provide continuous lane-keeping assistance, collision warnings, or adaptive cruise functions. The failures are unpredictable and occur during normal operation, creating a safety risk to occupants and other drivers.

Frequently all lights go on while driving check engine goes on here and there on the highway. Loud noise when you start the car and continues for about 2 min after the car is turned off as well. . 10 Warning problem of the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 04/24/2024

Purchased used 2020 Grand Cherokee at christmas time 2023. Vehicle had 25640 miles on it. On April 24, 2024 while driving home maybe 2 miles from home, I was lucky not to crash when losing steering response. A warning message appeared on the speedo, stating, “power steering unavailable service required “. 28k miles is about 2,400 miles driven to date. I drove straight home and made an appointment for service. Koons Chevrolet where I bought the car performed diagnostic testing to determine replacement of the steering gear rack and pinion would require replacement and the repair $5800 parts and labor. The module is internal and not serviceable therefore the whole steering gear must be replaced. Cost is prohibitive for a fairly new vehicle.

11 Warning problem of the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 04/01/2024

When crossing the border into mexico the aeb module falsely reports it has malfunctioned due to "Geo fence" limitations. At least that is the cause of the issue per the service department. This causes the aeb system to stay offline and inoperable which also affects the lane departure warning system as well as prevents the use of adaptive cruise control. Supposedly there will be a "software update" coming--it was supposed to happen in q4 of 2023 and now they say q1 2024 which has ended and no update. The safety of the vehicle is compromised as key safety features are offline.

Today my wife was driving the car for the second time and the power steering went out completely and it was very hard to turn the wheel. A bunch of other likes came on like the adaptive cruise and active lane management and front collision icons. The dash was lit up with warning including a large steering wheel icon in red. I was driving and when I was trying to turn I would have to turn the wheel almost 360°! there was no issues or warnings lights prior to this happening. 20 Warning problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 07/25/2022

From around 100 miles the active lane management started to fail. After few visits to dealer and attempts to calibrate front cam, problem persists, so Chrysler didn’t know how to fix it. After a month waiting for a “tool” to fix it, power steering disconnect. Car back to dealer to avoid a safety accident. After a month I was advised that both failures were cause by a damage rack and pinion that needs to be replaced and test to see if that’s the reason for the failure as explained by the service advisor from autocentro Chrysler at caguas puerto rico. Iam still waiting.

21 Warning problem of the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Two issues: power steering warning with no fix. Light remains illuminated. Second: alm (active lane management) will turn off sporadically and not turn back on. Sometimes takes a few stop and restart of the engine for the ability to turn back on.

After driving around for about 30 mins and then turning it off and going into a store I css as me out turned in the vehicle and all was fine again. The lane departure icon also said it was unavailable. This seems to happen when the temperature is cold outside. There was also a yellow icon that looked like a car crash that lit up on another night and said to bring in for service emergency braking was unavailable. These is quite unnerving gvyo happen in a brand new vehicle. I have read of many others having similar issues with their Grand Cherokee l.

25 Warning problem of the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 11/20/2021

My power steering doesn't work. It happens when immediately turning the vehicle on. It makes it very difficult to turn the wheel when driving. I have tried to turn the vehicle off then restart but it stays on. The power steering light turns on and off as it pleases throughout the days/weeks. The vehicle has been inspected three times by the certified dealership. It first appeared in November 2021. Lane departure warning light comes in periodically causing the feature to not work.

26 Warning problem of the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 11/15/2021

When I turn on my vehicle, the error message power steering unavailable will come on. Once the error message occurs, I can barely turn the steering wheel when I am driving my car. Most times after my car has sat (while I am work), the message will clear and power steering will be available again. On average this has been occurring every other day. The Jeep dealership where I bought my car has deemed it undrivable and taken it off the road until the problem has been corrected. Also when this light comes on, the active lane management warning light will come on and doesn't work either.

27 Warning problem of the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 11/01/2021

Vehicle locks are not working safely. When locking doors on the vehicle the doors are easily opened when you pull the handle while sitting in the vehicle. All doors will open which is very dangerous especially since my grandkids sit in the back and can open the doors while the vehicle is in motion. I have a video showing the doors locked and I am able to open the doors when the vehicle is driving down the road.

28 Warning problem of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 08/17/2021

The uconnect system laminate bubbles and as such, the system has a phantom buttom touch every few seconds. While driving, this results in an audible ding, the navagation no longer is visible, you are unable to use the backup cameras. I have also been in a situation where it turned on the seat and steering wheel heating and I was unable to turn it off. This is a very wide spread issue and is an incredible safety hazard when driving. It effectively makes it not possible to control the electronics of the vehicle while driving. I urge anyone reading this who does not think this is a huge issue to try driving one of these vehicles while this is happening. I used to drive over 20k miles a year with my previous vehicle. This issue started a month after I bought this vehicle from vroom. As such, I have driven less than 1,200 miles in 18 months. I am incredibly surprised that this has not been recalled yet. I am trying to upload a video of it but it will not let me. This is a major problem.
