Two problems related to ignition switch have been reported for the 2000 Jeep Laredo. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The key ignition locked up on my Jeep at approximately 37,000 miles. Vehicle transported to dealer and lock system replaced for approximately $190. 00 at 82,000 miles the exact same problem recurred. Same fix for same cost. Mechanic stated he had replaced "hundreds" of ignition locks on the Jeep SUV.
Ignition switch would lock up and the key would not turn without several attempts to turn it including pulling out the key and even turning it over 2-4 times.
