The speed o meter comes on and off several times and now it is completely blan. Took it to have it fixed at least three times, it worked for a fe miles then it went off again. The engine light comes on each time to indicate something is wrong. Now it has stopped working over six months costing me several hundred dollars.
I'm writing a fallow up concerning a important safety recall I received about middle of January stating that the fuel tank on my vehicle has a small chance of experiencing a fuel leak during certain types of rear end collisions. Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source can result in an underbody fire. Also said that I need to wait for a follow up notice in the mail, but so far I got nothing. Waiting this long is normal for this kind of safety recall?? I haven't have any incidents but I wrote and incident date as today because if not it wouldn't let me submit this. Thank you and hope to hear from someone soon.
I had just picked my 5 year old daughter up from school and we was on our way home; we went to turn the corner and it felt like that back of my Jeep was falling off. I lost control and went off the road a bit. Regained control and got the vehicle stopped. Shortly after I got ahold of my step dad and we managed to get the Jeep to the dealership and come to find out my rear control arms broke. Out of nowhere I had no warning or anything I know there is usually some sort of warning when the control arms are about to break.
I received notification about 4-5 months ago of a recall on my vehicles fuel tank saying that in a crash it may catch fire and that a hitch is to be installed, the notice states I would receive a follow up contact to notify me when these parts became available and I have heard nothing.
There is a recall on this vehicle that causes fire when hit from behind. Jeep/Chrysler has approved this recall, and sent letters out five months ago. They still have not moved forward with fixing any Jeeps.
Called Jeep and still no answer as to when they are going to comply with government safety regulations. I'm still waiting on a hitch for my Jeep. At this point if I do have a accident and an incident occurs I'm sure this would be considered a non comply to government regulations. All I'm asking for is either they fix the issue or give me ftv on my Jeep so I can buy a safer car. Sorry to say this is the type of issues that cause me not to want to get another Jeep. Ford or chevy next time. .
I called Chrysler regarding recall 13v252000, as listed on this site. I was advised that my 2004 Jeep Liberty was not part of the recall. When asked what was different about my 2004 Jeep Liberty versus those involved in the recall I was told that they didn't know, just that the VIN number wasn't included in the recall.
Ignition switch failed without warning while transporting disabled person. Again!!!!! this is the 2nd time this same part has failed on this vehicle - it is a tiny, small "pot metal"/nylon part that is a weak link in this supposedly otherwise sturdy rig, and the only fix after all this time of repeated failures is to replace the entire steering column, rather than only the offending part, again. This year, the part lasted for far less time than the original part - for only 4 years and 48,000 mi. It is a dangerous situation when a careful and conscientious driver is unable to rely on a vehicle used to transport a wheelchair-bound person. This Jeep is a one-owner vehicle and is regularly maintained and cared for by the dealership and other authorized service centers. (in 2009, it took months to get the part) this issue should be considered for recall. The thing is not going to explode and kill someone, but leaving occupants vulnerable (with no warning) is still a serious security issue.
I received a safety recall notice approximately 6 months ago for "rear structure reinforcement". I have been to the Jeep dealer in my area (milton ruben chrylser Jeep, 3516 washington road, martinez, GA 30907, 706-868-5454) 3 times and each time I am told they will call me when there is a part to fix my automobile. If this is a safety recall they are not taking it seriously, they are very dismissive when I talk to them.
2004 Jeep Liberty. Consumer writes in regards to unsatisfactory customer service at dealership and seeks reimbursement. The consumer stated after purchasing the vehicle, he was advised by the local dealership not to install a trailer hitch, as Chrysler would install it in the beginning of July 2013. The consumer is disabled and he needed to relocate and needed a trailer to pull a u-hall to move. After repeated attempts with Jeep/Chrysler, he was turned down with a variety of excuses. The consumer was finally forced to have a hitch professionally installed.
In March I tried to roll up my front passenger window and it made an awful sound and then dropped all the way down. I took it to the dealership and they said the cable broke and it cost me $300! a month later the same thing happened with my back drivers side window and another $300! last night I was pulling into my garage and went to roll up the front drivers side window and wouldn't you know. . . The same thing happened! 3 windows in 6 months is absolutely ridiculous! Jeep needs to recall this and fix it and I need my money back! I have been reading reviews and this is a common problem with Jeep Liberty's. I guess they used cheap parts and break all the time according to other Jeep owners. Please have them fix this issue ASAP!.
January 8, 2013 good morning. It was very annoying when my passenger's front window dropped inside the door. It was and wasn't okay when the problem first arose. I was very concerned. I immediately took it to my dad to see what he knew about it or could do. He went to the pick and pull junkyard and got a plastic replacement window to hold me over until I could get if fixed, which I did about 3 weeks after the problem occurred. The problem occurred on January 8, 2013 and I got it fixed on January 29th, only for the opposite front drivers window to do the exact same thing two days after I got it out the shop. Well this time, my dad placed a 2 by 4 to hold it in place. And now only about 2 months later March 28, 2013 my back passenger window has suffered the same faith. Back on February 5, 2013 I took my car into the Chrysler dealer because they contacted me about a recall, and at this time I explained my incident to them; they stated they had maybe a few concerns about the window regulator, but that it wasn't enough to raise an eyebrow about. I understand why that would not be an eyebrow raiser. In less than 3 months, I have had 3 of my car window to just drop inside the door of my vehicle and the dealer doesn't think that this is call for a recall, or send out notices to Jeep dealer and work on the responses received to then determine if this is a major issue or not? very costly, and inconvenient especially when the incidents occur at different times. I would like to get some feed back, answers, shares on this matter, anybody? I have also been browsing the internet to find out if anyone else has experienced what I have, to see what their outcome was. Stressed out consumer. . .
The first incident, I got into my car and the front passenger window was down. I tried to let it back up without success. I took it to the shop and had it replaced. A week later that I was driving, and started to hear air around me, and noticed my front drivers window was slowing dropping into the door. I had that fixed and a few months later it dropped again. I had it fixed by means of having a 2 by 4 placed under the window becasue I could not afford a shop. Now, back here at the end of October, my back passenger window has dropped in and I now have it boarded up.
I have a 2004 Jeep Liberty in which 3 of the window regulators have went out. The reason this is an issue is driving down the freeway my driver window regulator quit working, the window fell down into the door. I almost wrecked because of the distraction and sound of my window falling.
My spouse was driving on the highway when the left window fell into the door of our 2004 Jeep Liberty. On further research I became suprised to find hundreds of complaints about the same problem. The costs for repair are nuts and unwarented because of poor design by Chrysler. How is it that the ones to pay for all the mistakes created by manufactures ends up being the consumer. We have done enough for the big corporations it is time to do something for the people. I'm going to recommend to all that I know not to purchase Chrysler products.
