50 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2011

After viewing some recommendations online about Jeep Liberty crd vehicle fires I decided to check the component listed as having possible issues on my vehicle. The electrical connection for the fuel heater located on the fuel filter assembly was in fact scorched and soaked through with diesel. A fire has not occurred, however I am seriously concerned that it could and that there is not a mandatory recall on this product. I have left the connection unplugged but winter is coming and I live in an area where that heater is necessary.

51 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/16/2011

The Jeep Liberty has regularly "spit" out quantities of gasoline while filling up at gas stations. The quantities range from 1 to 8 ounces, with the quantity that poured out today the largest amount yet. The quantities vary by how fast the pump is pumping and whether the pump is hand operated or on automatic but some quantity of gas comes out almost every time. The spill today left at least 4 to 6 ounces of gasoline on the ground which is both an environmental and safety hazard.

For the last 2 months every time I fill up my Jeep Liberty 2006 gas spills out. This is frustrating especially with the price of gas. I estimate that I lose at least a gallon each time. When I first got the Jeep I noticed that you could not "top off" the gas which each fill. But now it just spills out all over. Help!!.

54 Gasoline Fuel System problem

I have a 2006 Jeep Liberty limited 4x4 with a 3. 7l v6 engine that overflows gas out of the filler neck when refueling no matter how fast the flow of gas is flowing. Vehicle has about 66,000 miles and has only started happening in the last 3,000 miles or so.

56 Gasoline Fuel System problem

2006 Jeep Liberty gas spill when fueling.

57 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/20/2010

Both rear regulators have quit working, leaving my Jeep and myself vulnerable to others being able to easily enter the vehicle. We have replaced one and will be replacing the other next week due to the cost. As if that wasn't enough, the sun roof just quit working and stuck partially open. I hardly ever use it, so it did not break due to use. We took it into the dealership and it will cost $1300. 00 dollars to repair, which we cannot afford. Also, fuel quite often overflows when fueling, spilling gasoline down the side of my Jeep as well as spraying out onto the person fueling. It does not matter how slowly we put the gasoline in, it still overflows.

2006 Jeep Liberty sport (3. 7l gas), spills fuel at every fill up. The pump will click off, and about two seconds later, about a cup of fuel will spill out of the filler tube all over my hands, clothes, and vehicle. Jeep dealer said they've not heard of the problem, even though with 5 minutes of research online, it's very common. This has been a problem since I purchased it as a certified Jeep vehicle with 32,xxx miles.

60 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2009

Hello, I bought a 2006 Jeep cherokee sport in romania kj / le85 (the Liberty 4x4 Jeep for europe), from casa auto romania: / 7 February 2007. My technical problems with this car, still in warranty (2 years warranty in romania) are: -the esp/bas warning lamp comes on continuously with engine running, the light remains on at speeds greater than 30mps. First, this problem was randomly appearing, but now it appears each time I am driving on highway with speeds greater than 30 miles/h . -2 times my engine lost power for no reason; -the fuel consumption urban: CA 17 l / 100 km; -the fuel consumption extra urban: CA 12 / /100 km. My car is for the second time in the service in the last 6 weeks for the same problem ? electronic stability control, the primary safety system of this vehicle. First time, after 3 weeks they said they fixed the problem. I brought it back next day with the same problem. My car is still in service. My great problem is that my authorized dealer is unable or don't want to fix these problems, waiting to expire the warranty of my car ? in few days. They don?t want to offer warranty for the pieces they replaced, they say the warranty of this pieces replaced expires with the warranty of the car. I'm afraid this problem is unsolvable for Chrysler llc, and my car is an unsafe car. Also, I want you to help me with the serial number of the components of my car: wind screen, battery, pistons,?. I found this links on internet with 2006 Liberty Jeep owners with the same unsolvable problem. . Read more...
