2 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/13/2021

I have a 2010 Jeep Liberty sport and it's headlights continue to go off on me while on the highway and it's only noticeable at night in which is not safe. I've changed both light bulbs in which worked and then went out within 20 mins agai at night on the highway. Then I changed the 30amp/relay. Then I changed the dimmer switch. All of this did not work. Then the dealer changed the windshield that is located on the right hand side and it worked for about a week with the passenger side light going out but working when I shimmy the cord of conductor. But like it did previously it's now not just the passenger light as both lights are again not working. And they are starting to flicker then just goes out altogether to where now the shimmy is no longer effective. Now I've done all I can do on the electrical realm but it seems as though everything I've attempted is just temporary or does not work at all. What is the problem. Please help!.

5 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/05/2018

While my son was driving the car just shut off. Mid drive, which was very unsafe. It stopped in the middle of the road rounding a curve. Attempted to jump the car with no success. Had the car towed to a local garage. They state it an electrical issue that it will be pretty costly. Explained it to me as the motherboard basically for the car. After reading up seems this is a common issue. I would think Jeep would fix this common and costly issue. I will never buy another Jeep.

6 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2018

1. Seat belt will not latch in rear driver seat to properly restrain child. Chrysler will not cover so child is being latch with a rear driver side shoulder belt connected to the middle seat latch. 2. Wheel speed sensor has been replaced twice, causes abs, esc and 4wd to stop working. This happens typically while driving either residential or highway roads, random times, temperatures and speeds. 3. Door lock actuator has stopped working for the forth time which prevents child safety lock from working. The door cannot lock/unlock other than manually compressing the lock from the inside of the door therefore I have to climb in the back seat to unlock the door or risk my child opening the door while driving. The other three door lock actuators have been replaced, not covered by warranty. 4. The clock loses a minute to two minutes a week. 5. When the car is in off position and keys removed from ignition, the vehicle has electrical surges through the console after sitting for several minutes. The battery has not been run down, I'm not sure where the power is coming from. 6. The vehicle started to lose power on highway and stopped shifting from park to drive, at 80,000 transmission work had to be performed to properly run without risk.

7 Electrical System problem

Tipm failure. The car has shut down multiple times while driving. It has happened while driving in city streets and on highways. The 2010 Jeep Liberty lost all power had to steer to the side to avoid causing any accidents. Pretty scary experience especially when you are pregnant and cares are zooming by 80 miles per hour.

Car was in motion when the transmission went out-2015 door locks stopped working-2017 driving in the rain when washer fluid stopped working-tipm went out-2017 driving down the highway when the back glass on lift gate was falling off-hinge bolt on the back glass is deteriorated. -2017.

9 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2017

"gate" light comes on dash and lights inside vehicle stay on, draining battery and if you lock your vehicle the alarm will go off. It is all caused by water getting into the back window which has bad seals and causes switch to go bad. Replaced year ago and now have to replace again. This is a common issue many Jeep Liberty owners complain. Fix the problem or I will never buy another Jeep.

10 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/03/2017

My panic alarm went off by itself when I was in the store. I shut it off but now I have a message reading gate ajar and all my interior lights are on. It drained my battery and it would not take a charge. I needed to get a new battery. I am still getting the gate ajar reading and lights stay on. I disconnect my battery when I go to work. I have been reading online and apparently this is an ongoing problem with the Jeep Liberty and not just the 2010.

I was driving home from the convenience store in my town when the headlights just stopped working. The only lights I had were the parking lights. Car were flashing me to tell me to turn my lights on but they would not come on. I have found out by researching on line that there is a defect with the totally integrated power module. Driving on I-75 my engine light came on. When I got home I called southfield Chrysler and they said if it was not blinking, not a big deal just get it checked out. This was a holiday weekend and I did not want to wait. I went to a mechanic in lake orion and some wires had burned through, cylinders were misfiring and I was lucky the engine did not catch in fire there is probably nothing you can do at this late date but I wanted to file a complaint anyway.

On 4 seperate occassions while driving my vehicle the abs system on the Jeep turns on and my car comes to a stop. I am unable to move the car and I have had it towed to the Jeep dealership to be looked at. My car has been in their shop 4 times for service. Each time I am told the problem has been fixed and each time it occurs again. This issue is an extremely dangerous sitaution as my car literally is unable to move and comes to a complete hault. It has occured while driving on the highway , at an intesection, and driving up hill. The dealership is unsympathetic and I am unaware as how to proceed. Thank you.

24 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/07/2011

2010 Jeep Liberty sky slider leaking +unsafe roof+ leaking water into vehicle wetting floor and saturating carpets causing slippery feet on gas and break peddles. Water eroding electrical panel where the skyslider power button is. . . . . Very dangerous and could cause electrical shock. Leaking skyslider failed repairs at ed voyles Jeep dealership with over 75 service records over 4 replaced skyslider attempts & headliner replaced, I paid for replaced carpet due to deterioration and smell. Chyrlser llc has had many chances to remedy problem @ 101,000 mile repair & made no offer to buy back / trade but promised to fix with each repair. Vehicle was sold to me with a skyslider feature and this skyslider feature is flawed design. I sent dealership the video showing how the top "burps" when doors are closed, so the top has no secure latching features to hold it inplace and when the electrical shorts out do to the exposure to water & there is a probable cause for the top to rip right off the tracts while in motion. Please send someone to investigate the repairs orders of all Jeep Liberty that have skysliders. I wish they would have been honest with me at the dealership and the manufacture representive and just say we cant fix it and we need to replace it with a vehicle that represents our Jeep quality with something to the same feature like the skyslider for the very reason it was purchased! I have a 4 inch binder with all my service records, photos, emails, service reports and happy to mail you a copy. Dealership has done an outstanding job. . . . . But really should have stepped up to protect the consumer when instead they threw in the towel and said there is nothing more they can do to fix the leaking skyslider. Please do a recall investigation of the skyslider leaking. Value of repair exceeds value of purchase. . . That classifies a total loss by law >>.
