1 Software problem

The contact owns a 2010 Jeep patriot 4x4. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph on a highway, the transmission indicator light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle rapidly and independently decelerated up to 20 mph leaving the contact stranded on a deserted highway. The contact was only able to restart the vehicle within an hour. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that they were aware of the defect that occurred after 50,000 miles however, they were unable to determine the cause of failure in the software metering system for the transmission fluid and they did not have a remedy. The failure recurred on three occasions. The manufacturer reiterated the same information that the dealer provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 68,000.
