Air Bag Light On problems of the 2012 Jeep Liberty - part 1

My airbag light is on in my dashboard and doesn�'t go away. I also got my vehicle serviced because my check engine light was on and one code that came back was because of my headrest .

Had a accident and airbag light would not come off also the electric system would not come on horn would not work and other things. Rotor had to to be replace, off the suspention ? light on. Was hit on drivers side, hit and run my insurance was used. Had to send to dealer two times and get towed 2 times. Had.

Air bag light is on and is in "limbo" will not deploy if in accident.

Started my 2012 Jeep Liberty and started to pull out, airbag light came on. As I pulled from a parking lot onto a street the drivers side airbag deployed. No accident or collision of any type.

The vehicle was taken to binghamton Chrysler Jeep Dodge located on 1279 front st, binghamton, NY 13901 (607) 771-7100 where it was confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The contact then called scoville-meno Chrysler- Dodge- Jeep, inc. At (607) 561-7500 where it was also confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and were able to confirm that the parts were to become available in April of 2018. The contact stated that the passenger side air bag light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was serviced per NHTSA campaign number: 13v282000 (electrical system, air bags). The contact stated that the recall remedy stated that the dealer would flash the totally integrated power module (tipm) or replace the module. The contact stated that the dealer flashed the tipm; however, since the remedy failed, the manufacturer and dealer needed to replace the module per the recall remedy. The dealer stated that the manufacturer would only pay for flashing the tipm. The contact stated that the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 105,000.

My airbag light came on and will not go out. The dealer checked it and said I need a new occupant restraint module. It is my understanding that this is a common complaint for these cars. Is there a recall that covers this problem?.

Air bag light stays on. Same issue as the 2011 Jeep Liberty that was covered under a warranty. Same exact error code but Jeep refuses to cover under recall for the 2012 model.

Airbag light came on, won't go off. Took it in the Jeep dealership they ran a diagnostic and said that the orc module had to be replaced to the tune of $437 plus taxes etc. Knew that was going to be the diagnosis because of all the complaints on the internet about the 2011 and 2012, apparently it was ok for the 2011's but isn't important enough of a safety issue for the 2012's, when it is the same issue as the 2011's and it truly is a safety issue.

Just turned over 49,000 miles and the airbag light came on? bill marsh dealership said it was the orc sensor? they said it had a recall but looked it up and it did not help so now I have to pay over $540. To get a new sensor!.

About 75,000 miles, the air bag light came on while I was driving. It flashed and went off, then came back on. Was diagnosed as occupant restraint control. Dealership told me it was already recalled on older vehicles, but not this year. I am submitting this report to hopefully fix this issue. Chrysler needs to be held responsible for defective parts. I have owned this vehicle since it was new, so I know that it has never been in any wrecks or had any reason for this to be an issue.

I have had my Jeep Liberty for a few years now. It has never been in an accident. I parked my Jeep in my driveway for the weekend no lights on at that time. I get it it to go to work on a Monday morning and my airbag light is on but only for my passenger. I don't understand how this could happen and with so many complaints why is there no recall set forth!!!!! I have not fixed it because airbag problems could be costly and if I was not in an accident to cause this problem then this should not be my problem to fix!!!.

Orc module needs replacing passanger air bag light stays on all the time.

The air bag light came on at about 55,000 miles. I just paid $700 at the Jeep dealership to replace the orc module, and I'm told they replace these routinely.

Air bag light came on and remains on. Took it to dealership and they charged 75. 00 to tell me the orc module is faulty and not covered under warranty. This is a safety issue and should be recalled. There are hundreds of complaints on this issue. Also heated seats do not work. Clock stays 2 minutes behind.

Around 91,100 miles the airbag light came on the dash board upon starting the car. The light stayed illuminated constantly for approximately 3 days until it was put in the shop. This car has never been wrecked. I was told by Jeep dealership that occupant restraint module was out. I had it replaced for $491. 15 with parts and labor. This really bothers me. I have two small children in the car so of course I wanted it taken care of. . . But after reading how many complaints there are I feel that this should be a safety recall.

I bought this car in October 2015, with only 27,680 miles on it and I'm already experiencing issues with it. Last week the airbag light came on out of no where. When I took the car yesterday to get the recall fixed, the tech. Told me that the light stayed on and that it had nothing to do with a recall so it would not be covered. He also said that this was a module (not sure what that is) but if I wanted to fix it I would have to pay a deductible because it is not covered under warranty. My second issue is the driver's side window control buttons do not work properly, I literally have to pull really hard to get the window up. Now I know that from reading other complaints, this is a common issue in this car, I just don't want to experience a fire in the panel or any other malfunction. Is there something that can be done, I feel that I shouldn't have to pay out of pocket for manufacture issue that are not wear and tear.

36000 miles the air bag light stays on. The service rep at the dealership says the airbag module needs to be replaced and it's not covered by the extended warranty. The cost to repair it is $468. How can a car this new need a repair like this so soon?.

The airbag light is constantly on. Started at around 40000 miles. Dealer told me it's 500 to replace the ecu for it. No warranty coverage and Chrysler won't help. I find this really disturbing since it's a safety item. I had a 2004 Mazda 3 with over 200,000 miles and no airbag ecu problems.
