general problems of the 2007 Jeep Patriot

Filled gasoline up and had car idle while driving. Had to place car in park, turn ignition off and back on to get it to turn back on. This happened two times and happens everytime I fill up gas in car. Other Patriots have reported same issue and I have been very close to accidents due to this.

I was taking off from a red light and the Jeep sputtered right after I took off but started right back up. This seems to be a common problem and do not want to make me involved in an accident.

In a car used only in city roads: - 21000 miles: power steering pump, gear and nuts (Jeep covered) - 32000 miles: left ball joint replaced (Jeep covered) - 45000 miles: right ball joint needs replacement (not covered by Jeep) this has created a lot of additional charges not covered by Jeep like alignment, tires, etc. Jeep liberty was also recalled due to a similar problem. Please consider this problem as from the current list of 37 complains for this car(including this) 24 are for the same problem I am reporting.

For the past several years, my Jeep Patriot cuts off every time I get gas. I've taken it to the dealership several times. They have replaced my fuel pump and auxiliary (I believe thats what its called) and I still have the same problem. Ive also had my throttle bottled cleaned twice. Occasionally, the engine light comes on with code p0442 but goes off after a day or two. It's becoming super frustrated and clearly dangerous to continue to drive this car with no solution.

Our car is shutting off on us while we are driving it. We have come close to several accidents both on the highway and on the freeway. The car has been to a "certified Jeep dealer" several times. To which they tell me there is nothing that they can do. I don 't know if it is this new model or what the cause is.
