36 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2015

When I would accelerate, the car would not go. The ets light would flash on and even though you press the gas pedal it would not go. It would be working fine one minute - then all of a sudden stop moving. It did this is heavy city traffic when I pulled out which terrified me to the point I thought I was going to get hit. It also happened on the interstate in traffic going 70 mph. Was nearly rear ended when it all of a sudden decided to stop accelerating. I never had issues before so I thought it may be bad fuel. I did a fuel treatment and the same issue occured. Jeep dearlership charged me a fortune to fix what they said was a bad electronic throttle system that was not covered by recall in this model.

37 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/24/2015

A notification came on saying gas cap, a week later check engine light came on. I went for the diagnostic it read trouble code p0456. Which is an evap system leak detected. There isn't a possible cause for this. Reported fixes are replaced evaporative system integrity monitor (esim) assembly or replace the fuel filler cap. I took the car to the dealer and they wouldn't do anything because I was over 36,000 miles ( I was under the three year mark). I've replaced the gas cap, but I still have the same problem, which is a noticeable decrease in gas mileage and acceleration. I have an extended warranty but it doesn't cover anything related to emissions.

41 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2014

My husband and I were driving from new mexico to wyoming. The average speeds were between 65 and 75. After driving for about 5 hours, with stops every 2 hours to rest and get gas, the transmission light came on and the Jeep lost power. We pulled over to the side of the road and let it sit for about 10 min until the light went off. We drove the rest of the way at much lower speeds. Between 50 and 60 mph. The transmission overheated again on the way back after 6 hours or so, with stops every 2 hours. The dealership we took it to told us that there were no error codes, and no problems with the transmission or its fluid. There was nothing for them to fix. They advised us to stop often if we were planning on traveling for long distances. Thankfully (but very scary) we were in the middle of nowhere when it happened and not in the middle of heavy traffic.
