The subframe and rear are rusting and the vehicle won't pass inspection and the vehicle is dangerous on the road if the vehicle passes inspection and out of no wear the rust hits and the vehicle is now very unsafe. Jeep knows about the issue but has never issued a recall. They really should issue a recall. Thanks.
The front subframe is completely rusted out and deteriorated, unsafe to drive any longer.
Left side of front frame has large rust hole and is badly rusted. Right side is badly rusted but no hole.

I have notice a recall on frobt and rear subframe rust and prefoartions and cross memver. Mechanic says subfranes are rusted all the through and broke. He states car is too new for this to be gappening. Jeep has been a hassle-sibe already replaced $1500 worth of2 a arns/control arns at firestone. Bidy is rusting and car is well cared fir- sibe I have been fighting cancer and this is and has been my onlt transportation fir car. I am asking why nt car is not under any of the recalks but ine cheaper service recalk-as it certainly falls under all the recalls currently the 2011 heep Patriot has on it. Ver disappointed and would appreciate any help I can receive in this matter. Also-Jeep has always oulled to the right since I bought it-got car alignment still oulls to the right. Again-Jeep has been a gassle to own. I biught brand new.
The front and rear subframes rust and crack. . Ive seen online where numerous people are complaining about this issue. This is very unsafe. I was just driving the other day and now it sounds like the wheel or engine is either falling out or busting through.

Rotted subframe. This is unsafe! we purchased this car for my 16 year old and the subframe is rusted through and cracked! why is the year after recalled and not this year?.
We recently purchased 2008 Jeep Patriot and was told by a mechanic that the subframe is rusted through. We were told that it was manufacture defect of the ac drain runs on or through the subframe which accelerates the rusting process. There was a 10 year 150,000 miles extended warranty on this part which has expired but we were unaware of this as it was before we bought the Jeep. To make matters worse that was only this past February (for the 10 years) but we still only have 122,000 miles on the Jeep. We have taken it to the local Jeep dealership and they will not honor the warranty, we were give a quote of $942. 76 to fix the problem. They also told us we could call Jeep cares at 1-800-992-1997 and they also said they can't help us. We are waiting for a supervisor to call us back from Jeep cares but that hasn't happen either. Clearly in reading the forums this is a common problem and a huge safety issue. We bought this Jeep for our 16 year old son and safety is a major concern for us. We want Jeep to work with us is covering the cost of this safety issue. Please help. . . .
The Jeep's engine cradle/subframe is rusted out and has holes in it so it cannot hold motor and has a crack through the middle of frame.

I went to get my tire alignment and I was told the sub frame is severely rusted. Common unsafe issue with Jeep. Recalls on 2007 but nothing on the 2008. Cost will be about $900+.
Bad ball joints same as many others. Also bad sub frame. Took auto in for maintenance and was shown bad ball joints and a rusted out sub frame. These were issues and earlier Patriots but nothing has been done.

K frame is severely rusted. K frame is under the air conditioning drain. The front wheel suspension is also attached to k frame.
Rear crossmember/subframe assembly rusted through in multiple locations resulting in large holes and the rear differential mounts to detach from the frame and rotate while shifting causing excessive noise and damage.
Went to a mechanic because of noise when turning. The problem was a cracked rusted out subframe assembly that the manufacturer had similar issues with in the 2007 Patriot and provided an extended 10year warranty. The manufacturer declined to support the defective part. The vehicle has 66k miles.

The technician noticed that the subframe was severely rusted and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 83,000.
My front crossmember / sub frame is rotted out . Contacted Jeep they are aware of problem because they warranted 2007 models but not 2008 . Front engine cradle has huge holes in it . Design flaw cause the ac drips right on frame causing rust . Dealership said no setrvice bulletin issued but they lied . Finally got a good quote to have fixed gonna cost 775 to fix . I have also changed my front suspension components 3 times . Ball joints , tie rods etc and the other parts . Only saving grace is its paid for and lifetime power train warranty .
The contact owns a 2009 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated that the subframe was rusted and deteriorated, which caused the subframe to clash and bang when accelerating past 30 mph. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 107,000.
The driver's side frame is completely rusted out after only six years of driving.
I bought a new 2008 Jeep Patriot, that I park in garage in winter in the evening when not driving, this past summer (2015), I took my Jeep to get inspected and the mechanic at the garage said he can not pass it due to the rusted out sub frame that holds the steering, and front end parts; I called the Jeep dealer and they said they have the $600. 00 dollar part on hand, which means to me that this is a common part that is failing. Since it is a box frame piece it appears that either the part was not cleaned or plated on the inside correctly, since these parts are rusting out from the inside to outside, and by the time you see the rust it is to late and rusted though causing a danger in frame and steering all within just a few years ( 6). All together this was a $900. 00 dollar job to fix.
