When driving car, beeping occurs (as if someone is riding and not buckled) and parking brake and air bag lights flash on dash board. Saw online that many people have this issue w their Renegade as well. Dealership wants to charge $175 just to check it out. Please help!.
The connector to the brake lights (where the wires meets bulbs) melted and has caused my right rear lights to malfunction. I was told the warehouse the part was ordered from had 8 of the parts in stock and that it wasn't normal for that many to be available.
For the second time in 3 years the engine fan has stopped working causing frequent overheating while idle. After the first instance, the fan was replaced and seemed to be ok (fall 2018) now the vehicle is overheating again due to the fan not turning on. Local mechanics claim it is an electrical issue that they cannot fix.
The guide lines have disappeared on the reverse camera.
My vehicle's connector to the passenger side tail light has a burn mark on the middle pin of the connector. I have found countless others on forums with the same issue, where the connector to their tail light fried, thus causing the brake light, blinker, and reverse lights to be unusable which is a safety issue that can not be fixed by simply changing a bulb. The vehicle was stationary when the error first occurred.
The airbag system warning light and the power steering warning intermittently go on and physical loss of power steering is felt. This happens both while at idle stationary and driving in traffic on both highway and city.
While driving, there is a clunk sound when the engine tries to switch gears. Also, the brake lights, turn signal lights, etc have a warning light that flashes saying the lights are out even when the lights are still working. I also had to replace he cooling fan in may 2018 due to my vehicle stopping, wouldn't drive, wouldn't start.
The radiator fan assembly went out at 40,000 miles and I replaced it and now it isn't working and blowing fuses.
Seatbelt connector and sensor issues. Intermittently seatbelt, airbag and parking brake senor keeps going off and will not stop while driving. I feel unsafe to drive my car while all these senor are going off. I fear the seatbelt, air bag and parking bake will malfunction while I'm driving.
Dash board reports parking lights, turn signal indicator, brake lights not working. They are working fine when checked. Appears to be identical to recall 17v485000 for the 2017 model Jeep Renegade.
Ambient outside sensor is not working properly and causing the air conditioning and my heater to not work properly. My outside temperature reads 131 degrees and its 43 degrees outside. This happen every time I drive it ,the whole time I am driving it now I have to replace the whole passenger side mirror which is going to cost 325. 00 which I think is ridiculous.
The instrument lights come on and tell me my lights are out and they are not. The radio is all jacked up clock is off the navigation doesn't know where I am or if there is a road there or not. Been on phone with uconnect several times and to dealer several times and nothing.
The car stops and turns off while in motion. Car lights turn on but engine will not turn on. Had battery replaced twice. The car won't turn off even after pushing the button and exiting the vehicle. Lights won't turn off . Key fob is detected when not near and not detected when inside car. Have gone to the extents of unplugging battery to reset computer after hours it will then turn on and work for about 1 week. With light issues in between. It's become a hazzard since the car will just turn off while driving and will not turn on even with a jump start from a tow truck. The car will become dead 100 percent. Only lights turn in at times until battery gets drained out. Then nothing works.
Dashboard reports parking lights, turn signal indicators, and brake lights are not working. They work fine. This appears identical to recall 17v485000 which was for 2017 Jeep Renegades.
Dash display states multiple left side lights are out when no lights are out at all. This has happened every winter since 2016. When headlights are off things seem to be fine on the dash. When I turn headlights off shows bad light in 3 places. Lights are not out. Dash also flickers. I'm weather under 40 service engine indicator comes on, and engine will not function properly. Feels like half of cylinders are firing. Chrysler knows it's a faulty thermostat. Left me stranded 2 winters straight. Thermostat operates normally during spring/summer. While under warranty the technicians at david stanley Dodge in midwest city, ok said nothing was wrong with both issues. Refused to fix under warranty. Vehicle is now out of warranty and it will cost nearly $1000 to diagnose and fix. I put today's date in, but it's been happening for the last two years. With the thermostat problem and the electrical problems with the dash there is something seriously wrong with this electrical system. These issues are rampant and all over the forums. Miles when issue occurred are from 800 miles - 70483. I will our current mileage in the what was the mileage block on next page.
Car looses power steering and power and does not shut off and air bags are not on while driving.
Multiple warning lights appear on the dashboard when starting vehicle while no problems exist. Warning lights stay on at all times. Chrysler has a recall number "t50" on Jeep Renegade 2017 models.
Tl- the contact owns a 2016 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated while the vehicle was at stand still, when starting the ignition, it failed to start and multiple warning light were illuminated ( parking brake on, coolant hot, air bag, etc). The contact stated she was 30 minutes trying to try on the vehicle and decided to tow her vehicle. The contact stated the tow truck driver was able to jump the vehicle to start. The contact stated she has experience the same failure on 1/6/2019. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired as of yet. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 62,000. Dp.
Driving down the road the car lost power, oil pressure light came off, lost power steering, car shut down. Wouldn't start. Checked oil, called tow truck. I had to push the car back to get it off the road while my husband backed it up to get it off the road. Tow truck got there, put can in neutral, engine light came on and wouldn't go off, car wouldn't turn off emergency brake, pushed it 20 or so times, emergency brake finally turned off so we could back up the car so the tow truck could get it front of it to tow. Car is now at the dealership. We have had nothing but problems with this car and it is dangerously unsafe. The car was in the dealership already this summer for weeks for electrical lights going off and the car continuing to run without the key in the ignition. The Jeep Renegades need to be took off the road.
Navigation issues. Navigation system is improperly calibrated.
Odometer blinking/flashing.
For the last year on and off the warning lights illuminate( service air bags, parking brake, electronic throttle cable, check engine light, power steering light), etc. Last week we were driving with the kids, went to park, got back into the vehicle, started it and all the lights started going off. My husband turned the key to off, pulled it out, and the car kept running. We brought it into the dealer only to have them replace the seatbelt. We got the car back and it happened again today. We were driving, all the lights kept going off, including the power steering light which turns off the power steering so we pulled into a gas station only to turn the key to the off position, pulled the key out and the car kept running. We called the dealer and brought it back in to be serviced. The car is dangerously unsafe!.
Steering wheel locks while driving; vehicle will not turn off after key is removed body controls module.
Engine cooling fan was replace, paid $100 deuctible on lifetime warranty, was recalled later and fca denied refund of $100 even after dealer processed refund.
Electric fan assembly for the cooling system failed. Burned up the electric fan, smoke pouring out of the engine bay. Vehicle was in motion on a city street.
Car hit 40000 miles and radiator fan started making squealing noise and now dosen't cut on at all. Jeep has almost overheated because of this.
I am concerned that key fob to our 2016 Renegade does not work well at all. I have replaced the battery but still have problems locking and unlocking doors. I worry when the key fob takes a long time to open the doors I have to hover key fob over door handle to see if it reads it, this happens when I pick up the kids from school, or running to their game's and practices, and it happens on rainy days too. I can't get in my car and I worry for my safety and that of my kids because we're standing outside the vehicle waiting to see if doors will unlock. It doesn't make sense that we cannot get into our car. I have read that this is a recurring issue with key fobs. I need this issued resolved.
Fan rattles vehicle overheats ac not working notice all this when came to a stop and was idling.
Radiator fan making rattle noise. It has 36011 miles.
Intermittent check parking break, check air bag warning keeps coming on. Also will not recognize when driver seat belt is engaged. This happens when the vehicle is started and at least one of the three warnings will stay on when the vehicle is in motions.
When vehicle is stationary while warming up. Grinding noise started. Turned off the engine and checked the hood. Couldn't see anything so I carried on. Later in traffic, grinding noise from engine compartment starts. Temperature shoots into red, and I start smelling something burning. Engine light came on and found it was the cooling fan. Doing some research online came to find out this a problem with tons of other people. I feel this is a known manufacturer's defect that should be recalled. Failure can happen at any time and could result in a blown motor and/or other damages resulting in a vehicle crash causing serious injury or death. I'm glad I was able to pull over and shut the vehicle off before anything major happend. These fans should be living a 100,000 mile life. But it's happening at 30,000-70,000 miles. Jeep will not cover this under warranty as they say it isn't part of the drivetrain. After reading numerous complaints about this problem I feel this is a known manufacturer's defect that should be recalled. The problem is so widespread that Jeep ran out of them and had/has long wait times. During this period the vehicle is unusable. This is really unacceptable for such a newer model vehicle. My vehicle is currently at 52,000 miles and now I'm going to have to pay $350 in repairs along with the $150 part.
While driving and with the vehicle in motion the brake, airbag and seatbelt warning lights illuminated along with a chime. Took to dealership and was told that battery was faulty and was replaced under warranty. 8 days after we got the car back the same thing happened on starting the car before putting the car in motion. Immediately returned to dealer and was told again that issue was the battery. And that it was our fault that we did not drive the car enough even though we had driven the car 3 times in that 8 days.
After approximately 10-15 minutes after starting car. Driving 30+ mph down a city street, car stopped moving and shut off. Gear shift showed car was in drive, radio was on but dashboard said press break pedal and push button to start. Turned car off, then back on and engine tried to turnover but would not start. After approximately 3-5 minutes, car started again. This has happened 3 times under all similar conditions. The first time it happened it took 4 attempts to restart before car would turn on. Two days later same happened twice in a row spanning 4 minutes apart from each other. All under same conditions. 30+ mph moving straight on city street.
Cooling fan motor failing with 38,000 miles on the odometer. When the fan comes on it begins to wobble and make clicking noises. This Renegade is a 2016. This part should not be failing.
First at 25000 miles engine cooling fan went out and rattled so loud and overheated had to be towed. Took dealership a week just to get the parts. Now at 34000 miles engine died and vehicle stopped on highway on ramp almost causing a severe accident. No engine lights came on. I drove it and would not drive over 10 mph while making a horrible noise than engine dies in middle of the road almost another accident. Finally got restarted and quit again now every light on dash came on. Popped the hood and absolutely no oil in engine! was just at dealership the week before and they did their multipoint inspection and marked oil as full? so in a week it lost 5 quarts of oil? was towed again and sat at dealership for two weeks as they could not figure out engine knocking sound! than they call and said everything checked out fine!??. Drove home smelling burnt oil as always since new and checked dipstick, they overfilled it by at least a quart! unbelievable. Engine runs horrible and in 100 miles has already dropped a quart on dipstick. Blowing oil out exhaust pipe. Can't trust this vehicle and no one has an answer or fix!!???. Total most ridiculous and dangerous thing ever gone through. Somebody will get killed with a vehicle like this. Unbelievable! 2. 4l engine.
