1 Seat Belt problem of the 2016 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 01/04/2026

I had a service airbag warning go off days prior which was then followed by my parking brake warning and a constant seatbelt warning chime that happened concurrently. The vehicle had these issues cleared by my mechanic but hasn't been able to be resolved. From what I understand, the seatbelt sensor is faulty and should I have an accident in the near future the airbags will not deploy.

2 Seat Belt problem of the 2019 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 12/22/2025

Am writing to formally report multiple serious issues with my 2019 Jeep Renegade (VIN: zacnjabb6kpk85059). I take good care of my vehicle, but it has been experiencing rough shifts, lurching and jerking during acceleration, loud noises from the engine or transmission, hesitation, unexpected power loss, and it frequently displays a warning that the license plate light is off. Recently, the car overheated and required a water pump replacement, and since then it emits a burning hose smell. Additionally, the driver’s seat does not lock properly, and the radio often turns off and on by itself. These ongoing problems not only compromise the safety, reliability, and proper functioning of my vehicle but also create a significant financial burden. I am requesting an immediate inspection and resolution, and I would appreciate guidance on the next steps or the earliest available appointment for service. A prompt response is important, as these issues pose a serious safety risk while driving.

4 Seat Belt problem of the 2019 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 06/12/2025

Took vehicle to litha Jeep in missoula montana. They failed to do the recall and made it worse. Now the un-fasened seat belt alarm keeps alarming even when the seat belt is engaged. They also scratched the riverside passenger door and foot long deep scratch I have no faith they can fix any recall correctly since they didn't even bother to test it.

5 Seat Belt problem of the 2021 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 04/03/2025

The right side seat belt connector failed and I was unable to take the seat belt off, which is a safety hazard. I went to a local independent repair garage where 3 mechanics were unable to disconnect the belt from the buckle. In 4/4/2025 I took the car to sullivan Nissan, Plymouth, MA where I bought the car. I was told that I needed a new seat belt buckle and it is not covered under the Jeep warranty. The car has 20, 120 miles on it.

6 Seat Belt problem of the 2018 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 03/25/2025

The driver seat belt buckle malfunctioned, the clip will not stay in no matter what. The dealership said the part isn’t available anywhere and is on endless back order without an eta. As well as they are unsure of what parts are needed as there is an electrical part they confused if it’s needed that is also unavailable anywhere. The Jeep/Chrysler company itself has also been no help, it has been 3 weeks. I keep getting told the same thing and to “be patient” and that this is not a safety recall, even though the part isn’t available anywhere. The dealership confirmed its malfunction. My safety/risk factor and ability to drive has now been severely impacted as it is illegal and dangerous to drive without a seatbelt, I have not been offered any help or coverage, and I have a newborn baby! there was no forewarning or symptoms of failure beforehand. This has been sudden and infuriating.

From we don't do recall work on weekends, to we are only allowed to order so many parts, we have to put you on a waiting list. Or I am out of a car for hours possibly days? 16 Seat Belt problem of the 2022 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 04/16/2024

On January 8, 2024, while increasing my speed from 25mph to 35mph, my parking brake automatically engaged and brought my car to a stop in the middle of the road. I quickly turned the car off and back on, and because there were no warning lights or obvious issues, continued to drive. After I increased my speed above 35mph, 3 warning lights were on the dash: service airbag system, service auto park brake, and start/stop unavailable. I took my vehicle to a local dealership where they diagnosed the issue as a faulty seatbelt sensor. They replaced the seatbelt buckle on January 9, 2024. On April 16, 2024, these issues began to occur again. However, this time, the car did not register that my seatbelt was fastened and the warning light to put on my seatbelt came on along with the service airbag system, service auto park brake, and start/stop unavailable warning lights. On April 18, 2024, as I was driving up an incline, the traction control warning light came on intermittently, along with the sound system unavailable light. These issues did not contribute to a crash or injury, but the car is under a year old and has had multiple issues that cannot easily be diagnosed. My car is currently at a local dealership being inspected.

On July 21, 2023, I was vigorously hit in the rear by someone. According to the police report, this person's airbags deployed. Unfortunately, my airbag, although hit extremely hard, did not. I was injured pretty bad and had to get treatment for over a year. I am still not completely healed. I was uneasy about my airbag not deploying and was sent a safety recall notice explaining why it did not. To resolve the issue, the manufacturer is offering free repair of my vehicle. This is not sufficed, and I demand pain and suffering along with medical help. The airbag not deploying during my accident resulted in increased injury. Please help me mediate with the manufacturer.

33 Seat Belt problem of the 2016 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 10/04/2020

My 2016 Jeep Renegade was involved in an accident October 4th, vehicle totaled but no airbags deployed even though the Renegade was on and there was a passenger (buckled in) in the vehicle. Had fca run their investigation though they will not share the results of which with me even though I've asked. Their response your request for our inspection report is proprietary, paid for by us, belongs to us, and therefore, unavailable for distribution. If you disagree with our handling, you certainly have the right to hire your owner inspector, at your expense, to examine the vehicle . We have closed the file regarding this matter. both my insurance adjuster and body shop (who asked for the investigation) stated that based on the impact (crushed rear and driver side) should have set off the airbags though they didn't and the passenger was injured, why won't they share the report?.

34 Seat Belt problem of the 2017 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 09/30/2020

Have had vehicle since 2018. For 2 years, I have had 3 cylinder misfires (with the last one about to happen at any moment) and my vehicle has stalled while driving (once on the freeway) about 8 times. I had to pull over each time to a complete stop. The vehicle stating "vehicle cannot change gears until stopped. " once I turned off the engine, it takes about five minutes to restart the engine. The cylinder misfires always begin with aggressive jerking while vehicle is in motion. Lasting a few months, leading to aggressive shaking once misfired. On occasion, while vehicle is stopped, seat belt will also not buckle and in the last two years seat belt has also come unbuckled twice while vehicle is in motion.
