36 Seat Belt problem of the 2018 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 08/10/2020

The infotainment system is malfunctioning. It controls almost all functions in the car. While driving every setting it controls will randomly and suddenly switch to a different setting. You can not over ride it's random switching, even by turning it off. The dealer service manager has said the car is undriveable. If you did try to drive a large number of mechanical and electrical and software settings are switching as you drive. Image driving down here in 95/95 florida (temperature and humidity) while the car is turning on the heat full blast and the seat heater full blast, resetting waypoints, and instructing the driver to turn somewhere and watch out for a upcoming collision. The only fix is to replace the infotainment system and there are no parts available for an estimated 3 month. This happens when the vehicle is stationary or moving on city streets and on the highway. I have spoken a dozen times to fca customer care, case 76973156. The keep switching case managers. Right now there is nobody assigned. The car has only about 5000 miles on it. I have not included an attached file because it looks like you can not accept a video. Apparently this is a common problem (as service guy says) and therefore there is a shortage of parts. Service manager said that this system affects almost all functions in the car to the point that often when there is a failure the car has to be towed in.

37 Seat Belt problem of the 2015 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 06/01/2020

I have a 2015 Jeep Renegade I purchased new from the dealership that is 5 years old with 78123 miles and the rear seatbelt latches have stopped working properly. The dealership has said they will not fix this defect for free (they said it will cost $167 just to take a look at it) even though this is a safety related defect in a part of the car that has barely been used; I almost never have passengers sit in the back seat and the latches are clean (no food particles or dirt or anything in them). We are about to have our first child and know that if the rear seat belt latches are not working properly, we can't officially comply with the va seatbelt laws and can't safely strap our child car seat into the vehicle. We also cannot have any passengers sit safely belted (or belted at all) in the back seat. We are concerned about how pricey the seatbelt latch repairs are going to be, when it seems like a safety defect that the manufacturer/ dealership should be responsible for. I can't imagine that I'm the only person with a Jeep Renegade that has had an issue with the rear seat belt latches not working properly. I've already checked with the dealership and manufacturer and they said there is nothing in any warranty that covers the seatbelts. There was no major event that affected the seatbelts, I just had to sit in the backseat one day as a passenger and realized the latches weren't working. I've found information: " NHTSA has the authority to require manufacturers to replace seat belts under certain circumstances. If a vehicle or item of equipment is not more than 10 years old and is determined to have a safety related defect or fails to meet an applicable federal motor vehicle safety standard, NHTSA can compel the manufacturer to remedy the defect or noncompliance without charge to the vehicle owner. " it would seem that this might apply in my situation?.

The rear seat belts recognize someone is in the back seat when there is nothing in the back seat. The seat belts have to be fastened at all times (with or without a passenger in the back seat). If one person is in the back seat bucked, the other spots will continuously "ding" until the seat belts are fastened. This has been ongoing from 1 week after the car was purchased (Aug 2018).

43 Seat Belt problem of the 2015 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 06/01/2019

So, I have had my 2015 Jeep Renegade sport front wheel drive for almost 3 1/2 years. I have had issues with the jerking of the shifting of my car when I drive, this has been going on since summer of 2017, I bought my Renegade new February 2016. Winter 2017 it started revving too high when stopped at the stoplights or at a stop sign. Then at the beginning of November 2018 my check engine light pops on and I took it right away to auto zone so they can run diagnostics and came to find out that my thermostat went out, my car just rolled over 38,000 miles, my warranty was up at 36,000, I had to shell out over $500 to replace that, I'm glad I did because I live in the midwest in the quad city area on the illinois side and our coldest day was 55 below 0. Then just today, June 1st, 2019 my radiator cooling fan motor went out all of the sudden. I was at sam's club, turned my car on and check engine light popped on again and it started to overheat and again made my way over to auto zone and they ran diagnostics again and as soon as I got in my car my air conditioning went out and called my mom and told her what was wrong with it, called my dad, then it started to completely overheat and the warning popped up and I called my dad and my older brother took the phone and told me to turn the heater on in my car to draw heat away, it worked and I made it home to port byron, IL without having to pull over because my brother told me to turn the heater on and roll the windows down and lots of prayer helped get me home safely.

53 Seat Belt problem of the 2016 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 11/16/2018

Seat belt light comes on dings the service airbag light comes on and the emergency brake light all at the same time. No one seems to be able to fix this problem. It does not seem to affect the driving but would have no idea if the airbags would deploy correctly. Also today while driving to work they all stayed on the entire time while dinging for over 20 mins. I have taken it to the dealership many times with no resolve. Some say it will not do it there some say they fixed it by taking off the negative battery cable for 40 mins that worked for like 1 day then all the lights are back. Is am so frustrated with this Jeep and the lack of help. I have no idea if this car is safe for my kids with the airbag, seat belt and emergency brake lights constantly on while driving. This happens when I turn the car on, or they can all just come on while driving. It is at such random times but it is everyday!.

54 Seat Belt problem of the 2016 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 10/11/2018

takata recall cooling fan went out in December 2017 received vehicle back 2018. Heard noises from vehicle took it back and they say the brakes & rotors need to be replace (how when it was with you all for two months). Now it's October 2018, thermostat is going out. Why wasn't this caught at the time of the replacement of the cooling fan. Then the seat belt mysteriously have a cut or something in it and they don't cover it so it will be an out of pocket fee. It's unsafe to have a thermostat going out as well as a seat that has a cut/splitting.

58 Seat Belt problem of the 2015 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 06/10/2017

Jeep is consistently jumping into gear when placed in reverse. Most recently, while at a stop light, with my foot on the break it lung forward! (ungood). While driving, periodically gets stuck in a gear. (?). At least twice, the car has refused to turn over upon ignition engagement. Since I have obtained the Jeep, anything that has to do with the stereo gives me intermittent signals/sound, inclusive of the usb connections etc. (not a good experience). The driver's seatbelt for some reason occasionally will not latch. Something in the undercarriage sounds as if it is going to fall of or break at any time especially when going over bumps or ruff terrain.

60 Seat Belt problem of the 2016 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 02/12/2017

I believe there is a problem with the electrical system with this 2016 Jeep Renegade trailhawk which I bought new in 01/07/2017. These problems below happen at random times: driving city, highway, parked. Started around 1300 miles which was around 02/12/2017; last time I picked it up from the dealer was 06/30/2017 which they had it for 10 days. Freezing cluster, rear reverse camera staying on while in drive, alarm going on and off on its own. The main safety concern I have and have been back to the dealer three times in 6,000 miles with no solutions: is the alarms of service electronic parking brake alert going on which is 90% time paired up with service airbag system alert going on, and the seatbelt warning system flashing on. Sometimes it will clear itself, other times it will clear when I stop turn the car off, and then back on. Dealer says there is no errors in the system, and it didn't happen while they had the vehicle. July 5 still going on more frequently. I called dealer twice in the last five days and I have not received a call back. I do not feel safe in my vehicle, I have personally witnessed while working on a fire engine and ambulance that air bags sometimes do not get deployed for various reasons, and the out come is sometimes not good for the passengers. I have also seen that when air bags deploy properly it can save lives. I do not trust my vehicle for the safety of my family and I. I do have all documentation from the dealership. As well as video's on my iphone of this happening.

61 Seat Belt problem of the 2015 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 01/17/2017

The driver seat belt has been replaced twice, both times for broken clasp which holds the buckle in placed once you "click it". Both times occurred prior to starting the car. The right rear passenger seat belt was replaced after the retractor mechanism failed, which left the passenger unable to tighten their seatbelt. This occurred while the vehicle was in motion at highway speed. The rear center seatbelt was installed improperly from the factory, had to be removed and re-installed.

62 Seat Belt problem of the 2015 Jeep Renegade

Failure Date: 06/02/2016

The passenger seat will not always activate the airbag sensor when a person is seated, it will activate when a lunch bag is placed on it. The seat belt alarm on the passenger front seat does not always work. The vehicle under normal speeds have been alerting that the vehicle is overheating and slows down attempting to shut the engine off causing the danger of a crash to possibly happen. The dealership is unable to replicate any of the issues described, and has stated that the passenger must gain weight to activate the sensor.
