Was involved in collision at 35-45 mph where driver air bag did not deploy resulting in serious injury to driver. This vehicle was I'm forward motion on a rural street. We have not received any notices of airbag driver side recalls.
The contact owned a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. While driving 45 mph, the contact drove off the edge of the road. The contact attempted to correct the issue and over steered. Takata recall; s33/ NHTSA 16v-290. While travelling forward at approximately 35 to 40 mph in a straight direction, a vehicle turned left in front of me and our vehicles collided. Unable to apply any sort of braking, my Jeep's front center and front left side struck the left front, left front quarter-panel, and driver's side door of the other vehicle. My Jeep spun approximately 45 degrees to the left before coming to a stop with the other vehicle. My airbag did not deploy as a result of the crash. I suffered injuries to my left hand, left thumb, left wrist, left forearm, left shoulder, left side of my neck, left scapula, chest, right hip, left knee, left, shin, and lower back. As of this time, I am still treating my injuries. The impact force was enough to bend my steering wheel as well.
Airbags- on Jan 06, 2016 I was involved in an auto accident in my 07 Jeep jk the impact was at 35 miles per hour and conditions wet (rain). A vehicle failed to yield and we impacted, however, our airbags did not deploy and the other vehicles airbags did. The damage was moderate and chevy tahoe received more severe damage. I filed a complaint with Chrysler and they are inspecting the vehicle. I am very concerned, my wife and daughter were very sore after this accident and all wore their seat belts, wife is afraid to drive her Jeep now and says it is not safe. Cair #28562532.
I was driving my 2007 Jeep Wrangler sahara and was involved in an accident. I struck the rear end of another vehicle while traveling approximately 30 mph. There was extensive front end damage to my vehicle and damage to the vehicle I hit. The final total for repairs of my Jeep were approximately $13,000. The airbag did not deploy in my vehicle causing me to hit my wrist against the the steering wheel and I suffered a moderate wrist injury that still bothers me months later. I would think with $13,000 worth of damage it would be sufficient enough to get the airbag to deploy but it did not. I believe the injuries I suffered could have been avoided if the airbag was deployed.
I was slowing while I was approaching a red light. The light turned green and I began my right turn. At this point, the front wheels wobbled and the steering tightened, taking me into the path of an oncoming vehicle (2010 Ford f-150) slowing to a stop for his red light. Upon impact, the seat belt (in use at the time) failed to actuate and the airbags failed to deploy, the driver's seat moved forward, throwing me into the steering wheel and windshield. I sustained a minor head laceration and impact trauma to the right chest. The combine speed of the crash was approximately 25-30 miles per hour. A passenger in the other vehicle was treated and released from the local hospital.
Air bag light came on while driving down the road. It was reported that the clock spring needed to be replaced. The air bags will not deploy at this time. The cruise control will not work either. The clock spring will need to be placed with an estimate cost of $500. 00.

The driver's side frontal air bag did not deploy. The contact sustained injuries to his face. On March 3, 2009, my airbag light came on. When I slowed to make a turn, it would ding at me and go off and then on. When I'm drove normally, and usually straight, the light just stayed on with no ding. Through research, I've come to find that my clockspring was faulty and may not deploy my airbag if I were to get into an accident. I had this fixed through Chrysler. They said it was not covered under any warranty. Now, on Jan. 15, 2011 with 103,769 miles, the airbag light came back on and did the same thing as previously. I went back to the same dealer to have them check it out, only for them to tell me, again, it is not covered under any warranty and that I have to pay to have it replaced again. Considering this is a safety issue, I was surprised to find I had to pay both times. If I didn't get this fixed, and I got into an accident, my airbag may not deploy. Completely unacceptable.
