Abs module fault abs traction control inoperable, no parts available, no fixes available.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving into a parking area, the contact heard a loud bang, prompting the contact to attempt to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that the brake pedal needed to be pumped several times before the vehicle came to a stop. After a visual inspection, the contact observed that the rear passenger side tire was punctured, and the brake caliper and rotor had detached. The contact believed that the failure of the caliper had punctured the tire. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 86,000.
When I drive the vehicle, I goes into this shaky mode where I have to completely stop the car and restart it. This happens if I hit any kind of bump. I brake every bump that I see hoping it will stop but today is got so bad I could not move. Also the braking for driving down a curvy mountain. I almost got in multiple accidents this week.
Bought my Jeep in July. On 6 different occasions now it starts vibrating really bad. I can't get it to stop, can't steer it. I've heard of the death wobble and I'm pretty sure this is what's happening. I have an appointment Tuesday August 24 to put a new stabilizer on it. Has there been a recall on my Jeep that wasn't fixed properly. It's a dangerous situation when it happens because I have no control over my vehicle at all. I've been lucky so far that it's happened in places that there were no other vehicles in front of me. There's no way I could stop if there was. I have no way of knowing if the stabilizer will fix the problem.
Suspension failure: I've had issues with my steering column since having bought this vehicle. About a week ago my gear box fell out of the vehicle causing loss of steering control. I have been having issues with the steering column shaking violently since having it repaired. This shaking was also a problem for me about three months ago.
Purchased vehicle from dealership tim short Acura so. Charleston wv took it back 2 days later 150 miles over it shaking real bad driving it. They told me they was ordering parts to fix it but now wants 2000. 00 to repair it refusing to fix it it was unsafe to drive and it was inspected at state of wv inspection station 300 miles before I purchased it what do I do on the safety and inspection part of having my vehicle safe to drive.
On Monday October 16, 2017 I started my Jeep to leave for work. As I backed out of my parking space at my apartment and felt the brake pedal go to the floor. I almost hit a nearby car but was able to pull the car into an opposite parking space and the curb helped me stop the car. I had been driving the car the day before without any indication of a problem. I was able to have the car towed to a nearby repair center. The mechanic called me to explain that the brake cable had corroded and that this was the second older Jeep that he had seen with this problem. He suggested that I notify you to report this issue. I'm counting my blessings that this happened in my parking lot and not a few minutes later when I would have been traveling on the interstate at 70 mph. The total cost of my repair was $446 because the brake system has been redesigned according to the mechanic. It is my hope that enough of these problems will be reported and that Jeep will conduct a safety recall for this problem. I am attaching a picture of my driver's side brake and also a copy of my repair bill. Please let me know if you need further information or what steps I can take to ensure that no one else will have this potential failure of their brakes causing a serious accident. Sincerely, janet liles 3117 stone arbor lane apt. 1128 glen allen, va 23059 631-445-3111 janetthcr@yahoo. Com.
My horn quit working the same time the airbag light and the electronic stabilizer control / bas light came on.
Air bag light is on,horn stopped working, esp and bak light is on n none of codes can be cleared.
The warning light for the brake assist, airbag & stability control light up. Took it to the shop and was told that the clock spring was faulty that is why the lights come on. The cost to repair the clock spring is over $800. 00. All it does is make it so the warning lights turn off, so I have chosen not to repair it. This is a common problem with the jk Wranglers. The problem is if there really is an issue then I won't know because the light is always on. I feel that Jeep should repair this as a recall.
This vehicle was classified as having excellent off-road capabilities. After it's first excursion off-road, the clutch throwout bearing was found to be rattling and had come apart. A full clutch replacement was completed with all new components by a licensed and certified mechanic with excellent outcome. 1 month after the clutch replacement the clutch pedal suddenly went to the floor and would not release the clutch. Replacement of the clutch slave, master and hydraulic line as well as a full hydraulic fluid flush yielded no success even with pressure and vacuum applications to bleed the system. This failure of plastic parts designed for off-road applications is a major safety issue. This system is fed by the brake fluid reservoir and could compromise the braking system if it fails. Numerous TSB's and a possible recall were noted but the dealer notified me that the VIN was not covered under the recall even though it was within the scope of the recall covered years, make and model. Will have Jeep finish the repair at no cost since it seems to be a flawed design.
Shortly before taking vehicle in for brakes, the abs/esp/bas and traction lights came on. Repair shop stated this would reset after brakes replacement. It did not. Now the lights are on all the time. I have no abs,no traction control and vehicle is all over the road in inclement conditions. Also the wipers won't turn off after car is turned off and key is removed. They operate on low or high no intermittent. The fluid works and the rear wipers and fluid works, but the wipers wont turn off unless I remove the fuse. And now the cruise control will not work. I was told the tipm is bad, but looking at reviews online. It seems like this is a safety concern for all these issues and should be cause for recall.
This has occurred while driving and while keys were not even in the ignition. I was driving down the road and the horn started honking, wipers went off and windshield fluid started spraying every where. It has done it several times. It has also done this just when opening the doors and no keys in the ignition. It blinks through the gears on the transmission and has locked up the traction control. I have had it in to the dealership several times and it is just now possibly diagnosed with tipm. Im part of a Jeep club in which we have an online forum and this in not just happening to my Jeep its happening to many Jeeps and I feel its a major safety concern. Chrysler has paid for several of the Jeeps on the forum, so far they haven't paid for mine but I think this issue really needs to be addressed.
Uncontrollable wobble in front end on highway causing vehicle to be unsafe (referred to as the death wobble).
The emergency brake never works for more than a week after countless adjustments.
The 2007 Jeep Wrangler stalled, lost power brakes, lost power steering. Tried to restart the vehicle and would not turn over. We noticed flames shooting up outside the passenger side of the vehicle. All 4 of us climbed out the driver side door. I tried to open the hood and flames came bursting out. Within 2 minutes the whole vehicle engulfed in flames. The flames were coming from underneath the engine. It took the fire department nearly 2 hours to extinguish the flames. The vehicle was a total loss.
While driving my 2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited sahara on the i35 north at approximately 70 mph, a slight bump caused a violent shaking of the tires and suspension system. The vehicle was nearly impossible to control, the steering wheel nearly shook out of my grasp. Braking compounded the issue. I was able to veer the vehicle to the shoulder on the road, where a lower speed allowed the vehicle to recover. The same thing occurred nearly 1 hour later as I returned home. This situation is not isolated to me or my vehicle, it has been coined as the "Jeep death wobble" by hundreds of people online.
Had my Jeep Wrangler in for problems with the brakes chugging (which was mentioned when the vehicle was still under warranty, but couldn't duplicate). They explained the service attendant could not find anything, however they didn't test drive it. I then insisted and they found a rotor was bad. Before it was taken in to the garage I checked the brake fluid and it was down to the minimum line. The brakes had continued to get spongy and not responding. The repairs to this was $312. 00! I was told by the dealership, that Chrysler has used thin metal on the rotors causing these problems.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the front end of the vehicle would shake violently. In addition, the vehicle experienced difficulty braking and vibrated when the brakes were depressed. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the dealer stated that the steering stabilizer needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure recurred approximately 1 year later. The manufacturer was notified and they offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000 and the current mileages was approximately 30,000. The VIN was unavailable.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited. The contact stated the brakes would independently engage while traveling at various speeds. The contact stated the failure occurred in the front and rear driver side brakes and the rear passenger side brake. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was contacted in regards to the failure. The failure persisted and progressively became worse. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 37,000 and the current mileage was 37,200.
My engine stalls and Jeep wants to turn off. I also am having brake problems rear brakes have been replaced 3 times in only 26,000 miles front brakes still look like new. Have taken it to dealer multiple time but they cant find out why its doing these things.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. While driving at speeds of 20 mph and depressing the brakes while approaching a stop light, the brakes would not engage. The vehicle proceeded to crash into another vehicle. There were no injuries and there was minor body damage to the vehicle. A police report was filed accordingly. The vehicle was taken to a local brake shop. There were no repairs made to the vehicle. The current and failure mileages were approximately 18,000.
Incidents of engine stall; airbag non-deployment; random horn, headlight, taillight, door lock, instrument panel and windshield wiper activity; failure of fuel pump shutoff resulting in unintended acceleration; and fires. All the dash back lights come off and on randomly especially the heater controls. Air bag light is always on. Air bag light and beeper flash and beep all the time and no mechanic does not know what to do about it. Very flushterating to drive w airbag beeping . No resale value due to all the above things. Will you buy it? horn has now stopped working and lights behind the heater do not work either.
Whenever I go to work I have to go up down a mountain, when I brake the front wheels of my Jeep wobble out of control, shaking my steering wheel out of control. When I put on my brakes it gets worse, I pulled over because I thought the wheels were going to come off. When I did a man who saw me coming down the mountain said he could see my wheels wobble he thought they were going to fall off!! he moved a bar in the front of my Jeep and said this shouldn't move and to have it towed. I had it towed to the nearest Jeep dealership they said there was nothing wrong with my car! this happens all the time, I have taken my Jeep to three different dealerships and they said nothing was wrong! I have replaced the brakes, tires and had a front end alignment and it still does it. I tried to trade it in but I'm upside down on my loan, so I changed my job because honest to god I thought I was going to die. I have told my family and friends if anything happens to me and I die in my Jeep please look into it. I'm afraid of my car!!! and there is nothing at all I can do. . . How sad!.
Inspection mechanic informed that at 48,000 miles the rear rotors are worn out. I cannot find any after market rotors only mopar. The front rotors are good and this just should not be. The front rotors should wear out first since the front should be doing most of the stopping at like 60 to 70 percent.
Abs, traction control and esp lights all went on and stayed on. I do not believe that any of these systems was working, as the vehicle spun out at under 40 miles per hour on damp pavement the day after lights went on. Took vehicle to dealership, and was told it was a wiring problem. Charge was more than $300. 00. Told I had to pay because I had more than $36,000 miles on vehicle.
Traveling approx 15-20 mph down hill at medium grade in rush hour traffic, had to make an emergency stop, stamped both feet on clutch and brake firmly with out let up. . . Brake physically fought back not allowing brake to fully depress or catch and allowed vehicle to continue forward, only fully depressing once had crashed into vehicle in front of me. This vehicle has had a recall on it with electronic control module issues in the brakes, was taken to dealership and reprogrammed approximately two months prior to incident.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that she experienced a loss of power in her vehicle. She also noticed that there was a loss of power steering and brake accessibility. While driving 75 mph, the contact pulled over and had the vehicle towed. The dealer kept the vehicle for approximately three weeks and drove it for 300 miles; however, they could not find any failures with the vehicle. The contact was informed that there were two recalls on her vehicle, which were corrected by the dealer. Nhtsa campaign id number 07v291000 (electrical system) was most closely related to the recent failure. The dealer offered the contact another vehicle on their lot. The current mileage was 10,513 and failure mileage was approximately 5,000.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. While driving up a steep hill at approximately 5 mph, the contact continuously applied pressure to the brake pedal. The pedal would vibrate and the vehicle would not slow down. After several attempts, the contact depressed the brake pedal down to the floor in order to stop the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they stated that the failure was related to a malfunction of the wiring in the abs. The vehicle was repaired. On a separate occasion, the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for an identical failure and they were unable to detect the malfunction. The vehicle has not been repaired. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 4,000 and current mileage was 12,300.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. While driving 30 mph, the stopping distance increased when the brakes were applied. The contact stated that the failure also occurred the following day while driving 40 mph. The road conditions were clear. He further stated that while driving 2 mph, the vehicle veered to the right. The dealer adjusted the tire pressure. In addition, there was a five second delay when he started the vehicle. The contact stated that the air conditioner and radio worked intermittently. The dealer was unable to duplicate any of the failures. The failure mileage was 900 and current mileage was 1,702.
Brakes "lock up" when taking right hand, descending turns. I've had vehicle lifted by dealer and have had it in the dealers repair department 4 times and the problem still exists. Now they refuse to fix the problem and have voided my extended service warranty because of the lift kit they sold me.
Esp computer system failure, faulty abs module, electrical failure.
