Accelerator Pedal Sensor problems of the 2010 Jeep Wrangler

1 Accelerator Pedal Sensor problem

Failure Date: 02/04/2013

The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the vehicle accelerated without the accelerator pedal being depressed. The contact powered off the vehicle in order to stop the failure. Once the vehicle was restarted, the engine rpms increased excessively while the vehicle was in park. The automatic throttle control sensor warning light also illuminated when the failure occurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but the contact was not told what caused the failure. The failure and the current mileages were 39,000. Updated 03/115/lj the dealer replaced the accelerator pedal position sensor and cleared the code. Updated 04/10/13.
