Vehicle has no heat on driver side vent and floor vents, cold air comes out as if the a/c is on. As time has passed cool air on front window defroster as well as center and passenger vents. Vehicle is warmed up when trying to turn heat on with no positive results. Online Jeep forums list this as a problem to Jeep Wranglers. Dealership stated they are unaware of this problem. This is a safety issue to defrost windows for visibility, and should be a recall. Vehicle is almost 3 years old.
Rear ended another vehicle at a speed of approximately 25 mph. The air bags did not deploy at time of impact or at all. Noticed that the rear windshield wipers did not work as well as the automatic door locks. Apparently this is a electrical issue that could have caused some serious injuries.
When adding fuel to the vehicle, after the initial pump shutoff when removing the pump from the fuel inlet, the gasoline come back out under pressure and soaks the operator. This has happened consistently since the initial episode. It makes no difference wether the fuel is pumped slowly or fast. This vehicle has been returned to a dealer for inspection. No immediate cause has been found.
Rear gate stopper failed & broke off when rear gate was opened on a reasonably flat surface, forcing gate to rapidly open much wider than normal, which also broke the plastic interior components and plastic hinge covers. Safety concerns are: the metal stopper snapping and hitting someone / having jagged edge when it snaps. The rear gate unexpectedly swinging open wider than expected and hitting someone. When the stopper snapped it was rather sudden & the gate really swung open quickly in a way which could hurt a child or elderly person if they were standing near the vehicle.
We are still waiting on the dealer to call us for the recall on the transmission oil cooler tube. We have taken the vehicle down to them twice and they keep telling us that the part is on order. We now have three of the safety cards from you and no resolution. The dealer is new smyrna Chrysler. What do we need to do to get the Jeep corrected. We would appreciate your response as soon as possible. Thank you. Fred and renee kennard.
Traveling at approx. 30mph on city street. Struck rough area of road with sudden loss of steering control and extreme shaking of front end. Unable to control vehicle at speeds over 10mph or turn. Inspection by service provider revealed shearing of factory welds on right front stabilizer bar. Required replacement of front axle, steering damper and right stabilizer bar. Vehicle is used for passenger travel only on streets/highways, no off road use. No prior accidents.
Started with a window leaking on October 2, 2012. Then proceeded to traction light coming on along with the engine light. . Well on may 26, 2014 I was working. . I work for usps and it is a right hand Jeep I notice smoke coming from the vents of my Jeep. . I stopped looked under hood seen no fire. Scared to death and not knowing what was going on. . I sit there for a while and it stopped. Call dealership and took it to them and they returned to me with "no obvious problem". Approximately 2 weeks later it happen again. Smoke coming from vents. . This time my Jeep caught fire and burned to the ground!! I later discovered, after the fire, that my vehicle was subject to a recall that I never received. . I become aware of the recall from a coworker whom had bought her Jeep 1 month after me. . .
I own a 2012 Jeep Wrangler. I attempted to have my vehicle repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 13v234000 (power train , steering) but was informed that the parts were not available and that the dealers were receiving one part week. I started calling the dealer in January and my Jeep is still not fixed and it is th end of may!.
I received my first recall notice for the defective transmission oil cooler tube over six months ago and contacted Jeep of paramus new jersey to schedule the replacement parts to be installed. I was told the replacement parts are on back order and I would receive a call when they come in. I have called every month for over six months to obtain an update on these parts. In the meantime,I have received another recall notice. I called Jeep paramus today to check the status of the parts and was told that I have to wait at least another three months. In the recall letter, it clearly states that should the defected tube leak, it can cause major damage and possibly a crash. This is very terrifying and disturbing to me that if this part can cause death, why is the company not taking this matter seriously. I drive my car every single day for work and personal use. This is absolutely unacceptable and I would like immediate action to be taken on this matter. Please advise me of my rights and what actions that I can take to rectify this matter immediately. I thank you in advance for your time and patience in this matter. I await your prompt response. Have a great day.
Under recall n28/NHTSA 13v-234 transmission oil cooler tube I contacted central valleychrysler-Dodge-Jeep in modesto California about the repair. They indicated they would order the parts and the repair would be scheduled for December 2014 or January 2015. This is a seven to eight month delay to egt a recall repair made.
I received the transmission oil cooler tube recall notice in September 2013. I have been trying ever since to get the part replaced, but each dealership receives only one part per week because the "parts are on restriction. " last month I was told I was number 76 on the wait list - if they get one part per week, I will get my part in October 2015, more than two years after the recall notice was issued. This demonstrates a complete lack of commitment to safety on Chrysler's part -- they are comfortable with thousands of people driving with a faulty part for more than two years. Please do whatever is possible to force Chrysler to produce all of the parts necessary to satisfy the recall immediately.
I am still attempting to get recall n28 (trans oil cooler tube part cbran281aa) and am told there is no longer a list (too long) and that Chrysler now only releases one part every 14 days to the dealer for the recall. I am told to call the dealer every 14 days to check, but they said it will be a long time. How is this an acceptable recall fix to NHTSA? at this rate the recall will outlive the vehicles and the safety risk (fire) is assumed totally by the consumer. From the online forums it appears this is happening all over the country. I think this is unacceptable and needs regulatory intervention.
One morning the controls, horn, & I'm assuming, airbag stopped working (no lights or functionality). Just noticed the first time going out for the day. The removable hard top panels where off, and some dew was present in the air earlier that morning. . . . But it's a Jeep. The horn honked from the steering wheel once and then no more. It does still work when locking the doors and such remotely.
I have received notices from Chrysler regarding my Jeep Wrangler recall n28/NHTSA 13v-234. I have contacted Chrysler on numerous occasions and ordered the replacement part on Feb 14, 2014. As of this morning it was still not available and the dealer told me directly that they are only allowed to order 1 part every 2 weeks and that there were about 50 people waiting. If this is the case and my safety is in jeopardy I'm curious as to how serious Chrysler is taking this if at this point 50 people have to wait about 2 years to have this resolved? please let me know.
After commute of 35 - 40 minutes from work I pulled into my garage and closed the door down for the night as usual and went inside . I did smell a slight burning smell but thought it was related to outside fridge that failed. After being inside a few minutes we heard a noise coming from the garage. I went to check it out and found the starter on the Jeep was spinning on its own. My wife noticed smoke and then flames under Jeep. I managed to get Jeep out of garage and fire put out and disconnected the battery. The fire was basically contained to the area around the starter and related wiring/hoses. The Jeep dealer picked up the Jeep and has it now. I contacted Jeep factory customer representative rep with the specifics of the incident and was told my file would be turned over to the "special investigations" department. I can't imagine what the outcome of this incident would be had we not heard the noise coming from the garage or if my commute had been an additional 20 -30 minutes longer.
Received recall for a potential transmission cooler line failure. Multiple dealers have been unable to get the parts needed from e manufacturer, with backlog at my current dealer of almost a year. As this could potentially cause transmission failure and potential fire, it seems Chrysler is not sufficiently pursuing efforts to improve part availability, limiting each dealer to one part every 7 - 10 days.
There is a safety recall n28 on my Jeep. I have gone to 2 different dealers to try to get this recall service completed. The hebert town and country delaership in shreveport la always came up wtih an excuse as to why they could not complete the work (they have to do an inspection first, need an appointment, then they have to order the part, etc. . . But they would never do the inspection). Then my husband made an appointment with landers in bossier city la to have the recall work done. . . Approximately a week prior to the appointment they cancelled it due to being "too busy". We then received a call from the automated appointment line and got rescheduled for an appointment today (Aug 4, 2014) and when we arrived at the dealer, we were informed they could not do the work because again, they were "too busy" and we were instructed to call back on Aug 11, 2014 to see if their workload had cleared up and if they could get us in. The service advisor even told us it's a2 hour job. I think a recall should take priority and I should have to battle 2 different dealerships for 9 months to get this done.
I've called about having the safety recall n28/NHTSA 13v-234 taken care of since December 2013 and my dealership continues to choose not to address this.
In November of 2013, I received a recall notice to have the transmission oil cooler tube replaced. I immediatly made an appointment with antioch Chrysler. They took me in, kept the car for several hours then said they didn't have the parts needed and would call me when they came in. After not hearing back from them for several months, I called them in may of 2014. They said they still have no parts, and will call me when they come in. It is now July 2014 (8 months later). . . . Any suggestions?.
I have a 2012 Jeep Wrangler unlimited with 40k miles. Around 15k miles, I started experiencing issues with the driver side and front windshield heating/defrosting not working. Heating works on the passenger side, but not on the driver¿s side seating or windshield areas. This issue creates a comfort problem during cold days due to no heat on the driver¿s side¦ but more importantly, creates a safety issue because the front windshield does not defrost properly without sufficient heat, creating unsafe driving scenarios. This issue was intermittent at first, but over the past 20k miles has become a frequent comfort and safety issue. This defect/issue/design flaw is a known problem with the current Wrangler unlimited as a number of others I know with the same vehicle experience this issue and you can find endless complaints of the issue on line. My dealer also explained they receive frequent complaints for this problem. I brought my Jeep to the dealership. They explained I need the heating core replaced, and due to its location behind the dashboard will cost me $1000+ to repair, primarily due to the labor required to pull off the dashboard and other car parts to reach and replace the heating core. This issue should be a recognized safety recall or service bulletin by Jeep/Chrysler with no out of pocket repair expense for the vehicle owners who expect to receive safe, high quality, well designed products from Jeep/Chrysler.
I received first recall notice 9/2013 at which time I called bob baker in carlsbad, CA. And was told they had to order parts. I keep getting notice from Chrysler, safety recall n28/ NHTSA 13v-234 transmission oil cooler tube. Bob baker Jeep dealer keep telling me they still do not have parts. What can I do about this? how long do I need to wait before this can be taken care of.
I received a recall notification from Chrysler several months ago regarding the transmission oil cooler tube. Recall n28/NHTSA 13v-234. I have called river oaks Jeep and Chrysler every month since receipt and they said they do not have the parts to make the repair. They said that Chrysler has not sent them the tube and they have such a long running list that they quit taking names. My 17 year old drives this car and if it is in any way unsafe this is a huge problem! if this will cause a transmisison problem after the warranty is out, this will be another issue. Please advise.
I received a recall notice from Chrysler about 3 months back and everytime I call dealership they tell me that Chrysler has not sent them parts to fix recall. Not very professional . Someone needs to push their gas pedal unexceptable.
My Jeep began to have a clicking noise every time you pressed and depressed the clutch, I took it to the dealership to get it repaired. They reportedly installed a whole new clutch kit, throw out bearing, and the pressure plate. In about 2 weeks later the clutch began to make the same noise and now I'm awaiting to see what Chrysler will do for me.
I have been trying to get this recall (see below) repaired for over a year. I am alwas told there are no parts available from my dealer. I wrote Chrysler and they say there is a shortage. . Read more...
I have been waiting for this part (transmission oil cooler tube) since last July. I called immediately to have it addressed by my dealer and they put me on a waiting list. Almost a year later (and several phone calls during this year to them) I am still on that waiting list. My recall states: ". . . Operating the vehicle with insufficient transmission fluid may cause damage to the transmission and a loss of transmission function which may increase the risk of a crash. " I am supposed to be okay with this? I tried to trade it in for a newer model, but the dealer did not give me a decent deal. My Jeep is only a year old.
This is a recall that has not been fixed I have called dealerships since 2013 and no one has call me back. This recall is for the transmission oil cooler tub may come in contact with power steering fluid return tube. Prolonged contact with the tubes could cause a leak in the transmission oiler cooler tube. Operating the vehicle with insufficient transmissiom fluid may cause damage to the transmission and a loss of transmission function which increases the risk of a crash.
I have a safety recall n28/NHTSA 13 v-234 transmission oil cooler tube on my vehicle and I have spent 6 months trying to get pat mcgrath Dodge to replace this part with no luck of them calling me back or being able to get the vehicle into be fixed. It stated in the recall this may increase the risk of a crash and you are concerned about my safety. I not only worry about my safely but the safely of my children. I believe pat mcgrath has no concern for my safely. I have also called the hotline safety number and left a message with no return call from you.
