The abs control module has malfunctioned which lead to the abs, traction control, and parking brake light coming on while driving. This is a safety concern due to a malfunction with these systems. These systems are meant to help control the vehicle when either sliding or braking quickly. An obd scan tool was used, which read the code c2200 to confirm the malfunction.
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed, and went to the floorboard. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle failed to stop until the contact applied the parking brake. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the abs module and pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.
The abs module is reporting a c2200 error indicating replacement of the module and it seems to be a systemic problem with this module. Chrysler has the part backordered and I understand people have been waiting over a year to get one. I hope you can put pressure on Jeep to get these parts out or issue a recall.
Abs module.
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while her husband driving 65 mph, the abs warning light and the brake warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to joe hudson's collision center, where the mechanic used a code reader to retrieve dtc: c2200 (abs module failure). The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the abs module was on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000.
This vehicle along with many others Jeep Wranglers have an issue with the abs control module. It has a code for internal processor fault. Some days the vehicle is fine and others it acts up and it won’t shift gears or the abs system activates by itself or the speedometer doesn’t work. This has been going on for almost a year now because there is no parts aviable to fix it. The dealer keeps saying it’s in engineering review but they been saying that for almost a year now. That’s how long mine has been acting up. My wife won’t even drive it with the kids in the car because she doesn’t know when it is going to act up. Luckly I only work 5 miles from my house so I’ve been driving it. If they know there’s an issue with these modules they should be doing something faster to fix it or there should be a recall. Something needs to be done.
My Jeep has a failed abs module, which mopar fully knows was a factory defect. They have stopped making the part and now we have dangerous, junk vehicles with no fix.
In December of 2024, my Jeep felt like a ghost was pressing my brakes. It got worse over time despite any troubleshooting we did and replacing sensors did not work. It went inot limp mode and would not drive out of second gear. Took it to my mechanic to find there is a national issue and back order problem with all abs modules for mopar/Jeep. I have read many Jeep forums online and this issue started in 2020. As of now since January there is no true eta on the replacement part. My Jeep sits while paying for it and unable to repair. We sought a company to try to rebuild the old one and they can't either since the replacement chips are back ordered as well. Luckily I noticed the issue while driving slow on a dirt road, however, this issue could have pulled the vehicle into oncoming traffic or off the side of the road. Jeep has not issued a recall or any help for the ones that are not inoperable. Someone needs to step up and take responsibility for this issue. There are thousands of people involved from what I have read. Please help!.
December 2024 the abs module failed on my 2016 Jeep Wrangler. Dropped it off at the mechanic and it is now may 2025 with no help from the manufacturer. This is a severe safety issue with the brakes locking up and causing the Jeep to not be functionable. I keep seeing recalls for other years makes and models. I need someone to help with a recall on my Jeep's abs module and to get a solustion to get my Jeep back functioning safely again. I can not drive it at this moment because of this issue.
Brake line brackets are rusting on interior on bracket at higher rate than rest of bracket. This design does not allow for clearance of the brake line and is a failure point. This is causing the brake lines to compress and brakes to fail. Vehicle has 65k miles and no other issues this is rejected by chryslers warranty division.
Abs and traction control lights recently started coming on upon starting the vehicle. This morning, I took to repair shop and had brakes checked. I was told nothing was wrong, that brake pads look good, brake fluid level is good. When I returned home, I checked the nthsa website to check for recalls on these modules. Saw another complaint regarding the exact same thing I am experiencing. That person stated that the dealership indicated that no fix is available as yet due to a supposed redesign of these components. So now what? I have no choice but to drive a vehicle that has abs and traction control safety systems that are unavailable. While on the site, I also checked for recalls and found 5 recalls for which I was never notified, including air bag non-deployment. Great. I want to get rid of this vehicle, but alas, interest rates make it impossible.
Loss of abs, traction control.
Abs and traction control lights came on. Took to dealership in July and told the abs control unit was faulty. Dealership ordered part with expected delivery on 8/12/2024. Went to dealership and was told part was in redesign with no real date for availability. Now I have a vehicle without abs, traction control, four wheel drive, or cruise control with no date for a fix. The abs and traction control are safety systems that are unavailable.
Everything looks good. . . There's no issues with the car. .
"Jeep death wobble" - I was informed by my mechanic that the automatic braking system module will need to be replaced. This was after numerous attempts to fix what is being referred to online as the Jeep death wobble online - widespread complaints online and on Jeep forums. Previous attempts to resolve this issue included alignment, new pads, brake pads, new brake rotors, 4 new tires. Despite all of this expense ($2k +) the Jeep continued to wobble erratically and unsafely at around 44 mph because the brakes are engaging or partially engaging. The temperature of the brakes and rims exceeded the range of the brake temperature sensor my mechanic used so he cautioned the car could vehicle could catch on fire if driven more than a short distance. The abs module is on back order for months so I am out of luck to fix the vehicle. Jeep claims this is only a supply chain issue but based on what I see as widespread problems, it seems to also be a demand issue - this is happening to many other drivers and should be a safety concern for instability (hence the name death wobble) if not also for fires.
The Jeep has an abs module that went bad. I have been waiting months- perhaps over a year, and there is still no estimate on the part coming in. It is an essential part, one with no generic replacement. It is illegal for Jeep to just leave all of us hanging.
On July 19, 2024, my abs and trac control light (anti-lock brake light) came on. I took my vehicle in to the myrtle beach Jeep dealership in south carolina and after a complete checki was informed that c2200-ans module internal will require replacement and the part was currently being re-engineered and was on backorder for at least thirty days. When even tried calling other dealerships and was told that they are having the same problem. On August 27, 2024 I called and spoke with my Jeep service advisor (jennie jo, 843-448-1191) and was told that the abs module is still be re-engineered and will not be available for another thirty days or longer. I saw on-line that numerous Jeep owners are having this serious problem with no relief. There has been no-recall and we cannot drive our vehicle do to the safety risk. I do not know why Jeep is not providing some relief or alternative to customer. I have never experience this type of situation. The dealerships are waiting on Jeep to provide the part and the part is not cheap, over $800 dollars to replace. Jeep needs to inform customer that this is a major safety issue and conduct a mass recall of these other Jeeps. We need help.
The warning lights indicating a problem with abs/traction system. Vehicle taken to wallace Jeep on [xxx] and diagnosed as "abs module internal failure". Service manager advised the module was unavailable for several months with mopar indicating the "part was on hold until engineering review was complete" and had been that way for several months with numerous extensions and no definitive available date and they were unable to order one for my vehicle with 28 already on order. Living in south florida where it rains almost daily, driving without operable abs and traction assist for several months now with no idea when parts available is very hazardous. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
My first issue is my windshield wiper fluid only works or comes out once every couple days. My 2nd issue is my tpm system has been blinking and does not show the pressure on very hot days. Both issues have been going on for over a year. 3rd issue is I can no longer use the am/fm radio. 4th issue is my brakes went out due to a faulty rear passenger side brake hose in March. Over the past 2 weeks something has been wrong with using my brakes. Today I just found out both front brake hoses are defective. Due to these defective hoses, my rotors also need to be replaced. My automotive mechanic said this is very common. My car only has 54k miles on it. I feel like these issues should not be happening on a car that only has 54k miles on it. I feel like many children are in danger because of these hoses being defective. What if a parent has this happen and they are unable to stop on the interstate or anywhere really. I almost wrecked when my brakes went out in March, but luckily I was able to stop before hitting anything. The car behind me almost hit me as well. Can you please investigate these issues as soon as possible before anyone gets seriously hurt. Thank you.
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle jerked with an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stopped the vehicle, and there was an unknown warning light illuminated. The vehicle was turned off and restarted; however, while driving, the failure reoccurred with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a private dealer, where it was diagnosed with abs control module failure. The dealer informed the contact that the part to do the repair was not available. The vehicle remained with the dealer unrepaired. The contact related the failure to nhts campaign number: 22v426000 (service brakes, hydraulic); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.
The abs warning lights come on and go off intermittently. Occasionally when I brake I can feel the brake pedal shudder. This problem has occurred at various speeds from 5mph to freeway driving at 65mph. This problem has been happening for several years but only occasionally. I would estimate it started at about 30,000 miles only occasionally and started more frequently about 50,000 miles. We love our Jeep and are diligent about maintenance. Now it is almost constant. I have taken it to a trusted independent mechanic who could not detect the problem over the past 2 years because it didn’t happen while in the shop. We have had a brake job done and that has not corrected the problem. We took it to get hoses replaced yesterday and got a call from our mechanic stating that the abs warning system went on for them and they were able to detect a faulty sensor and will replace it. This most recent incident happened when moving vehicle to lift for repairs of heater hoses. The date is 5/24/2024. We have experienced similar and exact problems as other owners complained except have not taken our vehicle to the dealer. Seems it’s about time something be done by Jeep.
2016 Jeep jk 3. 6l v6 symptoms brake warning light, abs warning light, traction control warning light on. Cruise control will not function with the above warning lights. Diagnosis: faulty abs module per obd2. Additional problem is the unavailability from Chrysler for the replacement part which affects many Jeep model years. This is a common complaint with Jeep owners. Chrysler contacted with no resolution. 05.
Abs module inoperative, needs replaced. Brake light, abs light and downhill assist lights all illuminated as dash warning lights. Jeep has no replacment or repair option available. This is my second report for this problem.
For the last 1. 5 years the abs control module light, check engine light, and the traction control light is on. I have taken my Jeep to multiple dealers and mechanic shops for this issue and I am repeatedly informed the abs control module is not in production. It is the only vehicle I own and I fear for my safety. I need to replace this part but the manufacturer is not selling to the dealer or mechanic shops. Can you help me find this part?.
While driving the abs would activate the left front wheel and pulls to left. Previous all of the wheel sensors had been replaced. Took to dealership first time and could not duplicate problem. Problem happened again and return vehicle to dealership. The abs, traction and possible another light was on. Took back to dealership and they did flow chart and found the abs control module was bad. The part was on national back order. Car was non drivable from March 25, 2024, till February 21, 2025, when part came in. This dealership is in a small town, and they had approx. 8-10 vehicles waiting for the same abs problem (module). This to me is a very hazardous problem because this happen while on highway driving 55 mph with a single mom and her child, thank goodness there was not an accident. Note: do have invoices to send not available at this time. Dealership york automotive cdjrf, 1765 us 231 crawfordsville, in 47933.
Abs module defect. Unable to obtain part for almost a year. March 16, 2024 vehicle started shaking violently. All dashboard lights started blinking. Was driving approximately 50 mph at the time. Tried slowing down, no matter the speed, shook so hard could not keep vehicle in lane.
The abs module for this vehicle has been on national back order for over 2 years. Numerous vehicles are involved. With the malfunction, abs does not perform as intended and creates a safety hazard. In addition other functions are rendered inoperable such as cruise control, hill start, etc. There is no remedy for the defect and manufacturer seems unable to offer a solution.
In February of 2024, my abs, traction control and brake warning lights came on. This disables the abs, traction control and cruise control. After scanning the vehicle for codes, there is a c2200 internal fault for the abs control module. Making sure it is not a sensor issue, I tested all four wheels and all check out fine. Looking up the c2200, I would need to replace the module. The problem is, the module has been on national backorder since December 2023 with no end in sight. My only option is to either send that module out to a company and pay $450 plus shipping to have it rebuilt or to pay upwards of $1400 for it on ebay. Even then, it may not be a genuine or new part. I have a vehicle with a safety feature that failed and another 2016 Jeep Wrangler that is starting to show similar symptoms. Stellantis / mopar is of zero help and will not tell me when or if the part will be available.
Abs module failed and no longer operable. Part isn’t it available for repair for over a year.
The abs traction control module in this year, and surrounding year, Jeep Wranglers continues to fail. Now Jeep has stated that the part is under engineering review and not available till June timeframe. Therefore, these vehicles no longer have anti lock brakes or traction control safety features. This is a widespread issue and should be a recall on these modules.
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the abs warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the abs module had malfunctioned and needed to be replaced; however, the contact was informed that replacement parts were under engineering review and not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 92,239.
Abs contol module failed in December 2023. Jeep did not have the part at the time, I was told it was on engineering hold. Fast forward to March 2025 and the part is still not available from any dealer and they cant tell me when it will be available. I am forced to drive the vehicle with no antilock brake feature and Jeep will not repair, provide part, or provide a loaner vehicle after over a year of waiting. If something happens, I will definitely bring a lawsuit against them. I know that this is a very common problem and there are thousands, if not tens of thousands, of Jeep owners that are in the same boat as me. If we can't rely on ya'll to take some action, what else are we left to do???.
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving on wet roads, the vehicle lost traction, failed to accelerate as intended, and caused the tires to spin before accelerating. While depressing the brake pedal, the wheels locked up, and the vehicle failed to come to a gradual stop. The abs control module displayed dtc: c2200 (internal abs module failure). The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who confirmed the fault code. The vehicle was not repaired because the part number 68259556ad was on back order. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the part was still under engineering review, and that a remedy had not yet been found. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
Abs alert is on and it is disabling the antilock breaking system. The dealership has inspected the vehicle. Safety at hand is that my antilock breaking system is not working. I was told that there is a chance if I had to break suddenly, the vehicle abs will not work and the breaks will lock up, causing me to skid. They cautioned me to pump the breaks in the event I need to suddenly stop. Dealer has confirmed that this module is broken. They have inspected the vehicle and they were the ones who provided me with this information. *I was told the abs module is inoperable at this time and the part has been on back order since I reported it in December 2023. Alert/notification warning lights go on each time the vehicle is started and stays on the entire time the vehicle is on. The lights first appeared in early October (intermittently). We took the vehicle to Jeep and they could not duplicate the lights coming on or the problem and sent us away. Warning lights continued to come on intermittently and we took the Jeep back to Jeep/Chrysler in December and we were then told the abs module was broken. They placed an order for the part at that time. *I have called the dealership multiple times to see when the part would arrive and the dealership informed me that the abs module for my vehicle is back ordered due an engineering review in progress for that part. Each month I am told the same information. I called Chrysler customer service and have been assigned a case manager. Today, the case manager gave me the same information and told me that the issue is under review and I will receive an update every 5 days.
The abs module (part 68259556ad) on my 2016 Jeep Wrangler began failing about two years ago. When the abs warning light turns on, both the abs and traction-control systems stop functioning, creating a serious safety hazard: greatly increased stopping distance, reduced steering control under braking, and higher risk of loss of control on wet or slippery roads. The warnings, once intermittent, are now continuously illuminated, meaning the vehicle has no working abs or traction control at any time. Performance Jeep of somerville (somerville, NJ) inspected the vehicle around September 2023 and confirmed the abs module had failed. They also confirmed the replacement part was unavailable, with no estimate from Jeep on when it would be supplied, and suggested a possible upcoming national recall—none has been issued. The abs module has now been on national backorder for roughly two years. Jeep’s parts division states the part is still “supported” but on “heavy backorder. ” Jeep/stellantis corporate opened a case, promised to “fast track” it, and later reported supplier “tooling/manufacturing” issues, offering no timeline for availability despite repeated follow-ups. Please note that performance Jeep has informed me that they have several aging orders in for the abs module (part 68259556ad) that they're unable to fulfill, so it would appear that on a national basis, there must be many Jeep owners such as myself who are experiencing this problem with no remedy in sight. Because the part cannot be obtained, the vehicle cannot be safely driven or repaired. This is a safety-critical defect with long-term parts unavailability. I am requesting NHTSA review and intervention, as the manufacturer has been unable to supply a federally required safety component, leaving the vehicle in an unsafe condition with no remedy.
