Other Fuel System problem #1

On 4/28/26, my 2020 Jeep Wrangler sahara unlimited suffered a catastrophic high-voltage system failure, causing the vehicle to completely shut off at highway speeds on a live road. Stuck on the highway for nearly 3 hours at around rush hour blocking one lane of traffic. The dealership (ourisman Jeep) diagnosed a failed 48v hybrid power pack unit (part #68381513aa) under star order #9575**. This sudden loss of power on the highway is a severe safety defect, and the manufacturer is refusing to cover the $3,327. 94 repair or the resulting 3-week rental vehicle loss of use. ".

Other Fuel System problem #2

On April 13, 2026, at approximately 67,312 miles, my vehicle experienced a fuel system failure when the main fuel supply line leading to the high-pressure fuel pump cracked and began actively leaking raw gasoline onto the top of the transmission in the engine compartment. There were no prior dashboard warning lights or error messages; the only symptom leading up to the failure was a extremely strong odor of raw gasoline coming from the engine bay area. I believed this fuel leak created an immediate, severe risk of an engine compartment fire. I immediately brought the vehicle to an authorized factory dealership, where certified technicians acting on behalf of the manufacturer inspected the system, confirmed the active leak emitting raw fuel odors, and successfully removed and replaced the failed supply line to resolve the issue. If needed, the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Furthermore, my vehicle is factory-equipped with the 2. 0l turbo engine, meaning this failure is identical to the documented fire hazard covered under fca safety recall y10 (NHTSA campaign 21v-665). Even though my specific production sequence was not actively flagged under the manufacturer's recall lookup system, I believe the component failed in the exact same hazardous manner described in the official recall.

Other Fuel System problem #3

The ipc intermittently goes blank and I lose driver information like remaining fuel and speed limit and other safety information. The ipc also turns green and gets distortion.

Other Fuel System problem #4

I have a cracked fuel line identical to the y10 recall but outside the recall dates.

Other Fuel System problem #5

There was a crack, and subsequent leak, in the fuel line to the engine. My safety, and my passengers safety was absolutely put at risk as that could have ignited a fire at any moment. I took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the problem. No warning lamps appeared, however, the smell of gas was very strong in and near the vehicle.

Other Fuel System problem #6

I am the owner of a 2020 Jeep Wrangler jl with the 2. 0l turbo engine, and I am writing to report a fuel leak issue that I believe is related to recall y10 / NHTSA campaign 21v-665, which involves the high-pressure fuel supply line (part #68297642ad). My vehicle is experiencing a strong fuel smell and visible fuel leak, and a technician confirmed the failure of the fuel line. However, my VIN does not currently show as included in the recall, and I have been told the repair is not covered under warranty. Given that my Jeep has the same engine, same part number, and identical symptoms described in the official recall — I’m requesting one of the following: that the dealer be allowed to inspect the fuel line’s date code and replace it under recall y10 if it falls within the affected range, or that Jeep/stellantis cover the cost of the repair as a goodwill safety-related assistance, since the failure occurred outside the normal warranty but is consistent with the recall defect. I take safety very seriously, and I hope Jeep does too. Please let me know what documentation or diagnostics you need from my service provider to support this request.

Other Fuel System problem #8

I am experiencing a recurring issue with my vehicle’s gas cap. The check engine light continues to come on due to the gas cap, and this has happened multiple times. This is the third occurrence this year, and despite ensuring that the cap is properly secured, the issue persists. I am concerned that this may indicate a defect in the gas cap or an issue with the sealing mechanism. I would appreciate any assistance in determining whether this is part of a known recall or if there is a recommended fix.

Other Fuel System problem #9

Had gas leak on lower part of engine leaking gas from the high pressure fuel line took it to a dealer ro so the repairs Jan 29th 2025 and my Jeep is still not right . . It had no mechanical problems at all except the leak and now they have had to replace the reservoir for coolant due to broken damaged line and the vehicle has no power at all since the dealership has had possession of my vehicle . . . It is the 2. 0 liter turbo.

Other Fuel System problem #10

Digital display that shows speed and fuel level stops working and goes black while driving. Happened in 2024 and the display was replaced at my cost. New display experienced the same blackout in January 2025. Manufacturer is unable to deliver a new replacement display to their dealership to fix the vehicle. It has been almost 5 months without any resolution in sight. Other owners who have used my carwash have mentioned similar experience.

Other Fuel System problem #11

Loss of power. Vehicle went into limp mode. Codes p00af, p24b1 and p1db1. Vehicle only has 28,500 miles and is having constant electrical issues.

Other Fuel System problem #12

Smelling raw gas. . Took to mechanic and it has a cracked fuel line and bad connector on it . . It is pouring gas oit and has been undrivable for over 4 weeks it has the 2. 0 liter motor in it . . .

Other Fuel System problem #13

Dealership diagnosed leaking fuel line to engine - exact same issue as y10 recall, but my VIN is not covered. I would like my VIN included in the recall.

Other Fuel System problem #14

Fuel supply connect locking device failure. Attempted to start vehicle and fuel leaked beneath mid section of vehicle about a gallon. Engine was cold as well as exhaust and caticlic converter. Safety hazard to occupants fire/explosion. Vehicle towed to oak harbor, washington dealership for repair. Safety retaining clips missing which allowed fuel lines to open and leakage.

Other Fuel System problem #15

Strong gas smells inside and outside if the vehicle.

Other Fuel System problem #16

The fuel supply line leading from the gas tank, along the passenger side of the transmission, and over the top of the transmission bell housing has failed and is leaking gas onto the transmission and then onto the ground. This is a dangerous fire hazard and placed my safety at risk. I have not yet taken the vehicle to a repair facility as I live over 30 minutes away from the nearest dealership. I am the only person that has inspected the vehicle and observed the leak using a remote camera as of the filing of this complaint on 7-18-24 at 1:30 pm. There were no warning lamps or messages associated with this part failure. I could smell a strong odor of gasoline fumes from within the vehicle which prompted me to inspect what the source was. As I understand, a previous recall for this part failure was issued in 2021, but did not include my VIN.

Other Fuel System problem #17

An internal defect in the 2014-2020 Jeep Wranglers with the 3. 6l pentastar v6 engine affects its rocker arms, lifters, and related valvetrain components, including the engine control module (ecm) software that controls the precise timing and function of the lifters. Specifically, the rollers of a pentastar engine’s rocker arms prematurely wear down, become loose, and then drop, which shifts the rocker arm out of alignment. The rocker arms then come into contact with the cam, scraping both components and creating metal debris. This pentastar v6 engine defect creates an audible ticking sound that stems from metal particles and debris from the failed rocker arms and other components, contaminating the engine oil and circulating throughout the engine. This defect also causes engine misfires, resulting in bucking and surging, decreased engine performance, hesitation, loss of power, premature wear on internal components, and eventually catastrophic engine failure. The check engine light came on in my 2020 Jeep Wrangler with 69,000 miles. After having it read by a dealer, it showed the p219a code, bank 1 air/fuel imbalance. The dealership told me that if the Jeep was running fine, I did not have to worry about it, as it was likely an O2 sensor. The code was cleared, and the p219a code returned the following day. It was driven approximately 500 miles before noticing that it began idling roughly and had an engine tick, which the dealership confirmed to be a valvetrain issue. The rocker arms, lifters, valves, and camshaft components of the pentastar v6 engine in my 2020 Jeep Wrangler with 70,000 miles have failed. Three Jeep dealerships in my area and many online forums stated that this is a common occurrence with this engine, which has escalated my concern about this problem.

Other Fuel System problem #18

Vehicle started to get extreme smell of gas fumes, interior and exterior, to the point it would make you nauseous. My vehicle was taken to a dealer where the tech noticed that a fuel pump was leaking and a fuel line behind the engine had a small hole in it and was leaking on the top and was unlikely debris hit it, to get at the line the whole motor has to get dropped. After reading the description of the fuel line/pump issues with the 2020 2. 0 l, this seems that it would be related and part of the effected parts.

Other Fuel System problem #19

I have been on multiple wait lists to have the recall correction for the hpfp, but the dealers I have contacted in the fresno area have told me they have not received the parts to make the correction. I’ve been on these waitlists for well over a year with no updates.

Other Fuel System problem #20

I just purchased my 4th Wrangler last month from a dealership - a 2020 certified pre-owned unlimited sport willys 2. 0l with automatic transmission. Within the first days, I noticed odor of fuel or exhaust that would be more obvious some times than others, and not constantly strong or apparent. At first I thought maybe it was from being in garage at dealer and something on a mat, but then it continued and was more apparent if I had the windows closed and the heat on. Called the dealer two weeks ago and got an appointment to have it checked this past Friday. First I was told I’m probably not used to it if it’s my first “turbo” (which made no sense), then they came back to tell me it’s probably dirty air filters (which they should’ve checked/changed when they inspected it before selling it because it was at 31,200mi). Then they decided to take it for a ride and, lo and behold, they smelled what I have been smelling. They put it back on the lift to look again. Diagnosis: fuel leak from the connector to the high pressure fuel line. I see there were some jls with 2. 0l manufactured the same year recalled for this, but they insisted mine wasn’t. Search online confirms it’s not included in the recall. I had no luck getting anywhere when I called Jeep customer service either. The dealer wants to charge me my extended warranty deductible when I haven’t even made my first payment on it yet. (according to vehicle records, 3 years for manufacturer warranty was up Nov 2022, and it has less than 32,500mi. ) they insisted they keep it while waiting for the part for repair because it’s unsafe to drive, and put me in a rental (which they told me they didn’t have available when I asked for the appointment). I think this is clearly a safety issue consistent with other recalls for this model and should be repaired at no cost to me. Perhaps the initial recall didn’t include all the vehicles it should have.

Other Fuel System problem #21

I am having a stalling issue when driving down the road. Its not a constant issue but will occasionally stall/stop accelerating. You will have to let off the pedal and push down again. It will gain power back right after and be fine. Believe it possibly a fuel pump issue or tps problem.

Other Fuel System problem #22

I was driving my vehicle on the expressway and a dash light with an “a” and a circle came on. My car began to slow down on its own and would not allow me to accelerate. I managed to coast off the expressway to an exit. I immediately smelled gas and my eyes began to burn. I tried to restart my car but it was sputtering. I checked under the hood and the car smelled like strong gas. After this my eyes were burning as if someone sprayed pepper spray in them. I had get assistance to get a tow. I went to a nearby urgent care to get my eyes checked out because after all of this they were blood shot red…. I see that some 2020 2. 0l Jeeps have a fuel line recall but my recall isn’t showing up. This vehicle should definitely have a recall. I also have issues with my radio saying “overheating” then the volume goes out and the radio shuts off.

Other Fuel System problem #23

Fuel line ruptured above fuel tank causing diesel fuel to pour out while driving. Driver was unaware of the issue. Rear of vehicle and spare tire were covered in diesel fuel. No impact caused this issue and could have caused a fire.

Other Fuel System problem #24

Our Jeep has smelled of gas since our first week. We were told is was normal, when the tank is just filled or nearly empty, however it happpens all the time and I see that 14,000 2020 Jeep Wranglers were recalled. Not mine as I guess I have the larger engine. We do not smell it when the windows are up, but in good weather with windows down or top off, is it extremely disconcerting at stop lights. And we cannot park in a garage to be safe,.

Other Fuel System problem #25

In the document (zd8), although my VIN does not appear, I have unfortunately encountered the same exact problem. My Jeep first exhibited this issue back in 2022, and I managed to repair it at that time without being aware of the existing recall. As it stands, my vehicle is now at the dealership again, plagued by the same recurring issue. In trying to resolve this, I have tirelessly reached out to every dealership within a 75-mile radius of katy. However, none of them have the requisite part(s) available in their inventory. To worsen the situation, I have been informed that I would be placed on an exceptionally lengthy waiting list. I strongly urge you to conduct a thorough reevaluation since it's apparent that this issue extends beyond the limited number of vins currently covered in the document. At one distressing moment, this defect triggered a heart-stopping warning while I was driving on the highway: “find a safe place to pull over; your vehicle is about to turn off. ” furthermore, this is the second occasion on which I have been compelled to address and replace the same issue. This situation is increasingly untenable, and it's vital that comprehensive action is taken to address this widespread problem rather than limiting focus to just the few vins listed in file (zd8).

Other Fuel System problem #26

There is fuel smell inside and outside of vehicle as fuel is leaking. It's getting worse day by day putting myself & passengers at risk and vehicle catching fire. I've shown it to the dealer but they have not done anything about it as yet for the past 2 months.

Other Fuel System problem #27

We began to notice a strong smell of gas in and around the vehicle, which was not normal or present for the first year of ownership. Knowing that this was not 'normal' we scheduled a service appointment with the dealership. Upon inspection, it was found that the gas line was leaking due to rubbing on a component. The resolution was the dealer replacing the line, rerouting, and verifying the repair. It should be noted that: 1. The vehicle is stock & has not been modified 2. Despite the strong smell of gas, there were not any warning messages/check engine lights, performance issues, etc. That would otherwise signal an issue.

Other Fuel System problem #28

8 spd transmission continuously up an down shifting at highway 5th6th7enth gear maybe 8th and city driving very dangerous in roundabouts . No deceleration downshift until 2nd gear slam you into the dashboard . Stays in gear at stop have put in neutral . Poorr fuel mileage 13-14mpg highway 12-14mpg city. Steering lots lane wondering continuously steering easy-to-cross lanes on curves if tire hits grove in road may shoot in other lane. Dealership said that's normal.
