Vehicle Speed Control problem #1

Started car and check engine light was on. Started to drive it and the battery and other lights came on. Engine sounded funny and electric motor was not available. As I was trying I needed to pull off because it was not moving smoothly and was jerky. I pulled over into a parking lot and put in park and the lights indicated it was in charging mode. After repeated attempts to turn the vehicle completely off I was able to. When I was able to finally turn it back on it the engine was very loud. While driving the car would accelerate when I did not have my foot on the brake and was getting warm inside the cabin. At random times the battery light and a red turtle would appear saying the speed was being limited. This happened repeatedly. The following day on the way to try to bring it to the dealership to fix it the speed was increasing while on flat ground unless I had foot on break and then the red turtle would come back on. I determined it was unsafe to drive and requested a tow to the dealership.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #2

When running the vehicle in electric mode (and sometimes hybrid), there seems to be an issue with acceleration. When pressing the pedal, the vehicle begins to accelerate until it reaches around 50% power. Once that happens, it either barely accelerates or doesn't at all - even if you are pushing the gas pedal completely to the floor. After a short period of time, the engine kicks on to compensate, but there is of course a delay there and many times causes the vehicle to lurch forward. After taking my vehicle to the dealership twice for this, I was told that although stellantis is keeping quiet about this, during the 68c recall software flash fix stellantis installed something into the vehicles to essentially throttle the battery's power. They claim this is to avoid the battery from getting too hot. I was never notified that they would be completely altering the functionality of my vehicle and how it drives - which is inappropriate - and I believe this also poses a safety risk as the loss of propulsion/delay in acceleration and the lurching of the vehicle could cause an accident you're pulling out onto a road or are in traffic. Stellantis is claiming nothing was done to the vehicle and my dealership is now claiming it is functioning as intended, which makes sense because if they did make this change, it is technically running how they want it to. However, I have had this vehicle for nearly 2 years and it never drove like this before. I have also seen numerous posts and comments from other owners on the NHTSA website, reddit, facebook, and various Jeep forums mentioning they are having the exact same issues I am having, so I know it is not just my vehicle. This, along with the other recalls that still have no resolution is completely unacceptable and stellantis would rather gaslight us into believing our vehicles are fine instead of owning up to the truth - that they are not.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #3

After 68c recall vehicle on electric mode looses complete power “maximum throttle input”uphill for roughly 5-10 seconds until gas engine kicks in to support. On 2 drives after getting the vehicle back I almost got rear ended by an 18 wheeler both times.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #4

Following a manufacturer over-the-air (ota) software update released in fall 2025 and subsequent completion of safety recall 68c, my vehicle exhibits new and dangerous driving behavior that did not exist prior to these updates. While operating in electric mode, the vehicle can unexpectedly lose power during acceleration, including at roadway speeds and while climbing hills, creating a risk of sudden deceleration in traffic. Under electric operation, the vehicle accelerates normally up to approximately 45 mph. Beyond that point, electric power output progressively decreases even as accelerator input is maintained or increased. Vehicle speed can decline while the accelerator is further depressed, and the electric power indicator visibly drops. This often results in abrupt internal combustion engine (ice) engagement, aggressive downshifting, and sudden acceleration. This loss-and-surge behavior is unpredictable and hazardous, particularly in traffic or on inclines. Prior to the ota update and recall action, the vehicle provided consistent electric power well beyond 45 mph, and ice engagement was smooth and nearly imperceptible. I consistently achieved approximately 22–23 miles of electric range on the same daily route. Post-update and post-recall, usable electric range has been reduced to approximately 14–15 miles under similar conditions, regardless of weather. The issue also occurs at low speeds, including complete loss of electric momentum while climbing hills, followed by harsh ice engagement that can cause wheel spin. This behavior raises safety concerns related to power loss and unexpected acceleration. Based on the timing and nature of these changes, I am concerned that software updates may be intentionally limiting battery power output and usable capacity to reduce stress on potentially defective high-voltage batteries rather than correcting the underlying hardware defect. This materially alters vehicle performance and safety and requires investigation.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #5

After having the 68c recall software update completed on my Jeep at an authorized dealership, I now experience sluggish and decreased acceleration (even deceleration) upon pressing the accelerator more than half way (approximately). This happened twice on hills in which I needed to increase power while in electric mode. What happened was the Jeep seemed to lose power and decrease in speed while trying to go up the hill. I continued pressing the accelerator farther down and the Jeep seemed to be even more sluggish until all of a sudden the combustion engine kicked in at a very intense level and high rpm, lurching be forward, almost into the back of another vehicle. The sudden decrease in power to an even more sudden and drastic (sharp) increase felt dangerous.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #6

Instrument cluster panel and all warning lights, fuel gage, speedometer, tire pressure, temperature sensor, etc. As well as all info on app unable to access. No warning lights which could cause crash without prior warning. Controls and displays failed to illuminate and were not visible. Unable to see in daylight or at night. Dealer verified internal failure in ipc, would not repair under recall, said was outside of warranty.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #7

Driving around town and the car just dies on me. I had my kids with me in the car this time when it happened. This is now getting scary when my car is my daily driver and I should not have to worry if I have my kids in the car when I drive it and it just dies. If my kids get hurt due to an accident from this dang recall that is taking months to get any remedy I should be able to get out of my lease with my Jeep. If my kids get hurt in any way with this damn recall it my car catches fire with my kids in the back seat. I am coming full force with lawyers. . Something needs to happen soon before my kids get hurt because Jeep does not care about the safety of their customers. Their apology is a $100 gift card. . They need to just take them off the market and get anyone one out of their leases without any penalties. . If they do not make it right they will loose a long time customer. .

Vehicle Speed Control problem #8

While driving at approximately 70 miles per hour, the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of power and felt as though the engine was going to shut off. This created an immediate safety hazard and forced me to pull over to the side of the road. Despite feeling unsafe, I continued driving directly to the dealership to have the vehicle inspected due to an engine warning light related to the fuel system. The vehicle has only been serviced and inspected by the dealership. I was informed that there is currently no available remedy for recall 78c. With the recall unresolved, the vehicle continues to pose a significant safety risk. The potential for engine failure while driving at highway speeds places me, my passengers, other motorists, and nearby property in danger. Due to these conditions, I do not feel the vehicle is safe to operate or park until the recall issue is properly resolved.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #9

Klamath falls Dodge dealership and stellantis have failed to repair the defects cited in the a7c, 68c and 78c. My vehicle is subject to sudden stops and sudden fires. The vehicle has been at the dealership since 12/28/2025. I filed a claim online and with certified mail with stellantis. No action has been taken to correct the defects and the vehicle can't be driven in a safe manner.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #10

Vehicle was in reverse on an incline, in a driveway. The throttle was unresponsive and the vehicle began to roll forward down hill. After a few moments and, without warning, the throttle suddenly jumped to near full response, quickly accelerating the vehicle in reverse, and it was necessary to slam on the brakes. This behavior of extremely low throttle response for an unpredictable duration, followed by extremely high throttle response, has happened at least 5 or 6 times. This has happened in forward as well as in reverse. The timing of this is problem is unpredictable and the dealer informed me they can't do anything about the problem if they cant' reproduce it.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #11

My vehicle currently has two active manufacturer recalls involving potential fire risk and the possibility of bodily harm. These recalls have been acknowledged by Jeep/stellantis; however, no effective remedy or repair has been provided to date. Despite the seriousness of these safety risks, Jeep customer care has offered no interim solution, no loaner or replacement vehicle, and no alternative transportation while the recalls remain unresolved. As a result, my family and I are placed in an unacceptable position of either continuing to operate a vehicle with known safety hazards or being left without safe transportation. Jeep has failed to provide a reasonable safety remedy after acknowledging these defects. In my view, this represents a failure to adequately protect consumers once a safety risk has been identified. I am submitting this complaint to document the risk and the manufacturer’s lack of action.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #12

Vehicle stops driving ; states to put in park and restart - recently happened while at airport picking up family ; called Jeep, stellanis, dealership - no help - active recall - requested buy back - crickets since. ; had happened as well in past - at dealership for 3 days - was told corrected. Still happening.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #13

I was driving on a major 3-lane highway and lost all power to the Jeep. The gas pedal did not work, and the car started to decelerate. The display said "shit to park and press button to start" (or something to that effect). There was no left lane shoulder, so I had to navigate across 3 lanes of traffic while decelerating to try to get to the right lane shoulder, which I eventually did. The car sat on the shoulder for an hour. It would start. The start button did nothing. While waiting for the tow truck for about an hour, it finally started. I drove it home and brought to the shop today. This is completely unacceptable. The car cannot turn off (and tell me to put it into park at 55 mph, which is dangerous in and of itself, let alone having to navigate a busy highway with zero power to the car). There was no crash (as is asked below), but it was nothing short of a miracle that there was no accident.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #14

While driving on the highway my Jeep lost speed and power steering. All the warning lights flashed on and off while dinging. Dealership can't get a code to see what the problem is to fix correctly. Jeep has 2 dangerous recalls that could catch fire while driving or sitting. Both issues put my life at risk. Stellantis denied buy back.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #15

The contact rented a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while reversing, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle's speed accelerated forward instead, and the vehicle was uncontrollable. The contact stated that the vehicle's speed continued to increase. The brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to stop. The contact's vehicle rear-ended the vehicle in front of the contact's vehicle and pushed the vehicle into a nearby canal. In addition, the contact's vehicle crashed into the canal. No injuries were sustained. The contact stated that everything happened so fast. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. The enterprise rental company was contacted. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. VIN unavailable.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #16

Jeep shakes violently when going above 50 mph.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #17

My car has shut off three different times while driving, completely losing power in the middle of the road. It then turned back on by itself and suddenly accelerated on its own. The check engine light is on, and the sos system keeps activating and won’t turn off. What’s worse is that after taking it to the dealership, they’re now trying to return the car to me even though there’s an open safety recall that hasn’t been fixed. This is a major safety concern that needs immediate attention.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #18

Year: 2024 make & model: Jeep Wrangler 4-door 4xe body style: sahara 4x4 VIN: 1c4rjxp60rw278656 on October 14, 2025, I began to drive my car home. After the use of the brakes, while I was pulling out of a large parking lot, the car functionally went into neutral, the “d” on prndl display began to blink. The brakes worked. I pulled over, put the car into park and then into drive again. Still, no change. I turned the car on and off and put it into drive and the car began to drive normally, until I reached a stop light, exiting the parking lot. Then, the same thing occurred. The “d” began blinking and the car was unresponsive to the accelerator. I turned off and re-started the car. Again, it drove fine. The “d” was lit, but didn’t blink. I was driving very slowly and then went down a hill. As soon as I tapped the brakes, the same thing occurred again. I was only 6 miles or less from the dealership. So, after re-starting the car for the 3rd or 4th time, I learned that using the parking brake did not disrupt the car and the accelerator continued to work. I drove to the dealership’s service department and used the parking brake when I needed to slow down. Today is 10/18/2025. I received a call back on 10/16 and none since. Today, I drove out to the service department and talked directly to a manager, who was vague on the car’s status.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #19

After the update it did, it will only drive like 20 feet. We lost acceleration and power in the middle of a busy road numerous times. Had to restart the vehicle every time. Severe safety issue, we had to coast into an intersection through a red light because we couldn’t stop because the engine kept stalling.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #20

While I was en route to get a recall serviced my vehicle powered off while I was driving, at a speed of 25mph, out of my neighborhood. The dashboard instructed me to put the vehicle in park (p), press the brake and the start button to power on the engine. The check engine light remained on and the vehicle started driving real sluggish. I couldn’t get above 10mph. I pulled into a parking lot and sat called the Jeep service department where I was going to have it serviced. I informed them of the issue so they could look at it, if I made it to them. The warnings for the check engine light said service stability controls. I proceeded to drive very slowly with my hazards on and still on 10mph very ruggedly; then all of a sudden the vehicle started to pick up speed and the check engine light went off. I was able to get on the highway and safely make it to the Jeep service center where they checked my vehicle but could not find a problem.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #21

Driving on our way to a Jeep invasion (local). We had our 3 children in the back seat. The Jeep was traveling about 45 mph and the accelerator stopped working. Thankfully we were not on a freeway and no one was behind us. We had to pull over and turn the Jeep off and then back on. It happened 3 times on the way there. We took it into the local dealership and they ran a test on it. We were told it happened because of the uconnect update performed over the weekend. We are currently trying to get out of our lease. We only have 16k miles on it and have taken it into the dealership 5+ times due to issues similar to this. But we have never had to worry about our safety the previous times. It has become a driving risk for us and we do not feel comfortable taking our children in it anymore. I feel like the vehicle shutting down felt the same as the brake system not working while we were driving. We had the 4xe battery replaced in the past year because we were left stranded in a parking lot because the vehicle would not turn on.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #22

Jeep 4xe Wrangler engine shut off while driving. Error we assumed on our part while coming to a stop. Turned the Jeep off and restarted it and again, car engine stopped. Tried for a 3rd time, car engine was running, gas pedal to the floor but the car would not move. We had to drive in reverse back to our house. Luckily, it was close. Called corporate, they have been zero help. Will not return our phone calls. We have no car to use and no answers.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #23

The vehicle lost significant power while driving. I was only able to go 30mph, then a message told me to restart the vehicle with the brake pressed and start button. Then after it restarted I drove and it would only go 11 mph. Research online has indicated numerous Jeep Wrangler owners having this issue after applying an over the air update. The vehicle slowed down rapidly, this was very dangerous and put my family at risk. Since there was no brake lights indicated a slow down, vehicles behind me had to abruptly slow down. This could have cause an accident. The check engine light came on and has stayed on. This happened on 11 October 25, which is a Saturday, the dealerships closed by the time I was able to get address this issue due to family commitments. The dealerships are also not open on Sunday.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #24

As I was driving the car on the highway, the engine light came on, then the "d" for drive gear started flashing and I could no longer accelerate or give the car gas. The only option was to "coast" across several lanes to the break down lane, put the car completely in park, shut off the ignition, and then restart the vehicle to drive again. This happened to me at least 7-8 times today (5 times while on the highway and a few while on other roads leading to and from the highway). I was unfortunately already on a drive to drop my children off somewhere so I had no choice but to complete the ride to the destination, then drive back home to park the vehicle. Needless to say, it's a very scary situation when you can no longer accelerate with cars coming up quickly behind you and you are unable to do anything but try to coast to a safe place to put the car in park and shut it off. It also happened to me while crossing an intersection and oncoming traffic from the other direction that then had a green light was swerving around me. I tried calling Jeep customer service to ask if it's a widespread issue and after 20 minutes on hold, the customer service rep came on to simply say their system is down and they're currently unable to assist anyone. I was almost in several accidents because of the issue and hope they send out a warning to all of those affected, assuming it was more than just my vehicle, because this seems to be occurring every since there was a mandatory software update yesterday. This happened at different speeds, in both electric and gas mode, and once while stopped at a red light, so there appears to be no consistent condition under which it occurs. It just unexpectedly happens and you need to pull somewhere safe with minimal control because of the lack of being able to accelerate (esp. If it occurs while you're on an upward slope because the ability to coast is almost nil).

Vehicle Speed Control problem #25

Driving my Jeep on [xxx] and while attempting to turn at a busy intersection in colonia, NJ the Jeep stopped while flashing the check engine light and put in park message. Both kids were in the Jeep which needless to say made the situation even more dangerous. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Vehicle Speed Control problem #26

Jeep lunched an ota update on Friday October 10, 2025 in the afternoon (los angeles time area). I did the update when I came home and the next day when I started driving the car it abruptly stopped, signals were blinking including the engine system one and it was stating that I was experiencing an electric issue. It was also asking me to put the car in parking mode and I needed to shut off and restart the car to gain power again but it was stopping really quickly after again. I also have videos that I could not upload here if necessary to show exaclty what is happening.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #27

My car stalled 16 times on [xxx] due to unknown issues. The first time happened on [xxx] . Then multiple times driving from the first location to my residence in east quogue and then to the dealer. The car would be in drive and suddenly stall, saying there was an issue with the hybrid motor. It also had multiple engine errors pop up. The car is only 15 months old. The idea that it would stall on a highway is very dangerous. I had to pull over, put the car in park, and sometimes it would power on. Otherwise it would take two to three attempts to start the car to continue driving. It was an extremely hazardous situation. It looks to be a software update error on behalf of stellantis. This is really scary and unacceptable. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Vehicle Speed Control problem #28

Jeep pushed a uconnect update on 10/10/2025 which I installed, caused my vehicle to shut off completely during driving on a main road shortly after leaving my home. All engine and dash lights came on, coult not take the vehicle out of drive. The shifter was stuck. I turned the vehicle off then moved shifter back to park and started it again. It continued to do this every few feet. This is extremely dangerous and could cause major accidents to happen.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #29

After an update on 10/10/2025 when arriving home, the next morning 10/11/2025 while driving the check engine light came on and I lost all power less than a mile from home. I turned off the Jeep, turned it back on and proceeded to try and drive to the next drive way to turn around and go home. In under a half mile, I lost power again (at 55mph). Got it restarted and turned into the drive way to turn around. When turning left out of the driveway, I lost power a third time and my Jeep would not restart. I was across two lanes of traffic and we needed to push the Jeep back into the driveway, but the auto brake kept engaging. Had Jeep towed to a dealership.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #30

Performed uconnext update last night and this morning car completely lost power on the highway. Power steering also did not work and unable to provide gas to car to accelerate. Dead stopped on highway. Dealership then tells me it is “safe to drive but will continue stalling out”.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #31

Back on October 10th, 2025, I took the software update related to the a7c recall. On October 11th, my vehicle became totally bricked and undriveable due to this update. I had it towed to a dealership where they supposedly "fixed" it by rolling the software back. However, my recall letter stated that this was not a permanent fix and there currently is none. It has been 4 months since this began and there is still no remedy or any updates on when a remedy may be available. This recall poses a dangerous risk for myself, other owners of 4xe's, and other drivers on the road as sudden loss of propulsion can lead to crashes. Submitting this report because while we were notified of this recall, stellantis has not remedied it in a timely manner.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #32

The Jeep stop while driving reduced speed, the dashboard said shift to p and that it was not safe to drive due to performance. The check engine light is on and will not turn off, the Jeep will not drive in electric mode. Also there was an update with uconnect.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #33

Updated vehicle last night via u-connect, vehicle died today while driving, lost all power. Check engine light on, hundreds of posts via social media with the same problem.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #34

While driving, a warning suddenly appeared stating “electronic stability control failure. ” immediately afterward, the vehicle stopped accelerating and automatically shifted from run to acc mode with no throttle response or acceleration control. Traffic was moderate, and when the vehicle abruptly lost propulsion, several cars behind me had to brake hard and nearly collided with my vehicle. I was able to coast and pull off the roadway safely, but it was a dangerous situation that could easily have caused an accident. This failure occurred without warning, and the vehicle has a history of prior powertrain and driver-assistance system issues, including repeated “four wheel drive service” and “electric power steering fail” warnings earlier in 2025. The most recent event on October 11, 2025, was the most severe and created a serious safety hazard. Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe mileage: approximately 10,000 miles condition: leased, well maintained, all service performed at authorized Jeep dealership.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #35

Vehicle suddenly shuts off while driving. Many other Wrangler owners (especially of 2024 models) are reporting same issue and saying it is due to recent uconnect update. My issue also started after this update this past week. Has happened twice since the update on 10/10/2025. Very serious safety issue that can cause crashes from behind.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #36

I was driving my car and came to a near stop. When I attempted to drive the car again the vehicle displayed a message to shift to park and then restart the vehicle. I did that and was able to drive another 30 miles home. The next day, I drove the car 20 miles to get an oil change. When I drove a mile away from the oil change location the car displayed a shift to park and restart message again. After that, I was able to drive the car 20 miles home. About an hour later, I drove 1/2 mile up the road and the car again displayed a shift to park message and restart as I was driving up to 50 mph on the highway. I was able to get the car home, but the message displayed again twice. The car shuts off if you do not follow the instructions so as I was driving up to 50 mph the car lost power creating a very dangerous driving scenario.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #37

While driving the vehicle “shuts down “ and you can only coast and try to find somewhere to pull over. I had to avoid highways so that I had a place to pull over. Extremely dangerous.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #38

Following a software update on 10/10/25, our vehicle can no longer be driven safely. Repeatedly loses power, power steering, etc. This issue is impacting thousands of Jeep owners nationwide. Please investigate and help resolve before people lose lives.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #39

As I was driving on the local road, the speed dropped to 0 mph and could not accelerate. The Jeep shuts down in the middle of road. Put it back in the park mode, restart, all lights including engine lights were on. Drove another 100 ft and stop again and repeat the whole process. I was luckily within 2 miles of my home and was able to drag this back to home in 20 minutes with 5-7 stops. The other cars were honking and flashing as I keep stopping every 200 ft with no warning. Not sure if this is software issue as a lot of people are posting on facebook and other Jeep forums of having same problem between Friday 10/10/2025 and now. I towed the car back to the dealership on 10/13/25 and have no vehicle to drive for now.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #40

Car lit up while driving with multiple warnings, check traction control, check charging system, etc. Wouldn’t power off or drive or go into neutral. Had to tow. Stranded in dangerous area with no warning.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #41

While driving at any rate of speed the vehicle would take over, shutting down driver control with a message on the dashboard saying to put vehicle in park. After pulling over to shut vehicle off, I would turn it back on, and was allowed to drive until this occurred again. A message would come up to service hybrid system.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #42

Jeep pushed out an over-the-air update to uconnect on 10/10/25, which I installed. After installing the update, my car completely shut off in the middle of an intersection. I could have been killed. I restarted the cr, and it continued to do this every few minutes all the way home. I tried to call Jeep and they said they could not help me because the update came from stellantis. It was well documented and numerous other folks seem to be impacted [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Vehicle Speed Control problem #43

My vehicle prompted me to update my uconnect software around 540pm last night as I went tminto class. Upon leaving class around 845pm, I expierenced a complete loss of power, many dash indicator lights came on, and the vehicle message appeared indicating the vehicle needed to be put into park. This all occurred while driving at about 40mph. I have never had any issues with the vehicle before this.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #44

Update happened to uconnect on October 10th. The vehicle now shuts off every 1/2 mile. When this happens all power is lost and vehicle states to put bricked in park.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #45

While driving the car just shit off. . Put it in park put my hazzards on and started the car back up. Put it to the test again while backing out of the driveway and it shut off while I’m reverse. The stereo has been glitching for about a couple of month where it constantly has to reboot while driving. It has now caused the issues for the whole car to just die while in motion. . This is I huge safety issue especially with younger kids. If I was on the highway when this would have happened who knows how much more fatal this could have been. I do a ton of highway driving and that’s all we have used the car for and for drive around our small town. I fear that even taking it to the dealership to get it fixed I am not sure I am comfortable in its after features it has. .

Vehicle Speed Control problem #46

Driving on highway at 70 mph and I lose all power. Message says to shift to park. Jeep will not accelerate when gas pedal is pressed. Had to come to a complete stop, shift to park and luckily it drove for a few more miles to get me off the highway before getting killed. Multiple dash lights came on including check engine.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #47

We’ve experienced multiple ongoing issues with this vehicle, and the dealership’s only suggestion so far has been to file a lemon law claim. Last month, the car began jerking excessively while driving typically at speeds between 35–45 mph. The best way to describe it is that it feels as though all the wheels lock up at once, causing a loud tire-screeching noise. It was a frightening experience. The dealership claimed to have resolved the issue with a “software update. ” however, just last night, my wife was stranded on the highway when the car suddenly started shutting down mid-drive, similar to what happens when a vehicle runs out of gas. The maximum speed she could reach was about 20 mph, and the check engine light came on. She switched from hybrid mode to esave (gas-only mode), which allowed her to get home safely. This morning, she tested it again. The check engine light was initially off, but after a short drive, it came back on and the vehicle started shutting down again. This Jeep is a lease, and despite being in the shop five times three of those for a full week the dealership continues to “service” it without providing a real solution. We are extremely concerned about the vehicle’s safety and reliability at this point.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #48

I performed an over-the-air update on the car. When we got in to drive it about 10 minutes later, after driving for about 30 seconds, the car completely died. All the gages went haywire, it said traction control system needed service, the check engine light came on, and to shift to park to continue. Once shifted into park, the gear selected would lock. This happened while in the middle of the road and could have easily caused an accident. When you turned the car off, and back on, it would do the same thing again after about 30 seconds. This happened 3 times until I called stallantis service and waited for a tow truck. The car has been at the dealer since Friday night. They called me Saturday to tell me that there were no hybrid technicians on staff and I’d have to wait until Monday for more information.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #49

Jeep pushed out an ota update for their uconnect system. Upon completion of this update, that occurred while I was driving, I lost control of my vehicle. My steering wheel locked up, all of the lights on my dashboard started flashing, and I was instructed to pull the Jeep over. I was unable to operate the vehicle and had to be towed.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #50

After completing an update on the vehicle, I tried driving home and the vehicle started jerking and stopped accelerating in the middle of the road, luckily no cars close behind me but it could have ended badly.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #51

Immediately after updating the uconnect software in my parking lot, I drove away and my Jeep lost power while driving. Engine shut off and said "shift to p to start. " had to shift to park and restart just to get moving again. Was barely able to get it to the dealership right afterwards and then it happened again while in motion. Happened again and again in the dealership parking lot.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #52

Vehicle suddenly dropped in speed. Only able to go about 10 mph. Cel and received electronic stability control error. Was able to get car home and cel message eventually off. Drove it again but found that it would shut down about every 10 miles. Would have to stop the car, shut it off, then could drive it another 10 miles. And the cel did come back on.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #53

In early October 2025 (specifically around October 10), Jeep/stellantis pushed an over-the-air (ota) software update via uconnect to 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe models. This update, intended for system improvements or recalls (e. G. , related to hybrid battery management or telematics), instead caused widespread failures in the vehicle's computer systems, particularly the telematics control module (tcm) and powertrain control module (pcm). After the update I experienced the following. - sudden loss of motive power while driving (e. G. , the vehicle shutting off mid-drive, refusing to accelerate, or entering limp mode). - check engine light (cel) illumination. - inability to shift gears or recognize transmission states, rendering the vehicle undrivable. - vehicle stalling multiple times in short distances, leading to to the need for a tow. In my instance I was on a two lane road with no shoulder and no way to drive my vehicle. I was able to move to a parking lot and wait for a tow.

On 10/10/25, an uconnect update appeared on info center console. I pressed the update now button and went into a store. After re-entering my vehicle, I drove one block and a message appeared on the dash that stated ‘service charging system’. At the same time as this message appeared while driving, the car abruptly shut down in traffic, nearly causing a collision with a vehicle behind me. After trying to restart for about 25 minutes, the car restarted and I was able to drive to my destination. On the morning of 10/11/25, I started to drive the vehicle to the mechanic. After about a minute of driving, the check engine light came on. Then about 2 minutes later, the vehicle abruptly shut down while driving, again nearly causing another collision. A message displayed to shift in park and restart. I followed these directions as I also made a call to the dealership to advise of this issue. The vehicle restarted and I was able to drive for another minute and vehicle shut down again while on the phone with the dealership. On the way to the mechanic, this issue happened several times more. Steering was also lost during this issue. Many complaints online are of this issue. Mechanic pulled codes as well.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #55

1. Loss of motive power at freeway speeds (drops to ~40 mph) despite >40% battery charge 2. Uncommanded switching between electric and gas propulsion; driver cannot control the transition 3. Unintended acceleration in reverse / tire spin even after releasing accelerator 4. Steering wheel shaking at highway speeds ? potential loss of control ** of these items create a high risk of rear-end crash, parking-lot collision, and pedestrian/property hazard this is not “normal hybrid operation. ” it is an intermittent propulsion control failure (loss of power + uncommanded acceleration behavior) that materially affects safe operation, so it should be handled as a warrantable defect and a safety defect, regardless of recall status. And because the vehicle cannot reliably maintain electric propulsion and instead experiences unpredictable loss of power and forced transitions to the gasoline engine—even with significant battery charge remaining—it is not functioning as a hybrid/electric vehicle as advertised. I paid an additional premium for hybrid/electric capability, but due to these propulsion-control failures the vehicle cannot be safely or consistently operated in electric mode and therefore is not providing the advertised hybrid/electric functionality.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #56

Firsts, "service shifter" came up on the dash, with no other lights. Followed by the check engine light. After that, there was a red tortoise that appeared on the dash that said "vehicle speed may be limited". After which the throttle response was limited and I couldn't accelerate over 10 mph. Within 30 seconds of that the steering wheel locked up, not allowing me to turn and the throttle response died. The vehicle stopped. I turned the vehicle off and back on and began to drive again, almost immediately the same error messages came up, followed by a locked steering wheel (unable to turn) and no acceleration. At this point, the dash board began to illuminate all lights, "auto emergency braking unavailable", "service shifter" "service transmission" etc. With the fuel cluster jumping and dropping. Following this, the windshield wipers began to go without control and then the vehicle died and was unable to be started.

I turned into my driveway and the Jeep accelerated significantly and the brakes did not work even when I pumped them. The result was that the Jeep crashed into my garage door and house!.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #58

While driving the vehicle, I received a warning that the clutch was overheated. A few days later, it had no acceleration while merging onto the freeway. Fourth fifth and sixth gears had zero acceleration and I was almost runoff the road. The vehicle would not go over 70 miles an hour and the cruise control failed. It told me service required. I took the vehicle into the dealer and they told me there were no codes so there was nothing they could do unless I made an appointment. Which I did their convenience was two days later. As I was leaving, they informed me that it would cost $180 to diagnose the problem, even if there was no problem. Since the initial problem, the vehicle has hesitated in all gears and has lost its “peppiness” the vehicle is a brand new 2024 model. After googling I found that there was a recall up to 2023 models stick shift clutch overheating. I suspect they did not fix the issue and my 2024 may catch fire as well, also the lack of power is disheartening while driving and may also pose a risk.

Battery drains extremely fast car stalls in hybrid and electric mode, multiple times daily must floor pedal to get the car moving, then the electric light blinks warnings keep coming up on dashboard to service hybrid mode electric temporarily unavailable keeps going on and off heated seats and steering wheel barely get hot speakers do not work on left side.

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while stopped at a toll booth, the vehicle independently accelerated with the brake pedal depressed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer and was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 317.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #61

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep wrangler. The contact stated that when attempting to accelerate from being idle, or while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would suddenly jerk, accelerate at an unexpected speed, or fail to accelerate. There was a ticking noise coming from the front end of the vehicle that could be heard when standing outside the vehicle. The check engine light and the explanation warning light, as well as others not specified, would illuminate intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times; however, the dealer was not able to diagnose the failure. The dealer updated the vehicle's software but was unable to provide a remedy for the failures. The dealer informed the contact of NHTSA campaign numbers: 25v741000 (electrical system) and 25v766000 (engine); however, the parts to do the recall repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. While driving approximately 25 mph, after accelerating from being idle at a stop light, the vehicle suddenly jerked and stopped. The contact pressed the accelerator pedal, and when doing so, the vehicle accelerated at a high speed, immediately causing the contact to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle ended up crashing into a fire hydrant, causing it to stop. The air bags did not deploy. The contact received injuries to their shoulders, lower back, neck, and left knee. Medical attention was needed. A police report had been filed. The vehicle was towed from the incident. The contact stated that while the police were there, the officer noticed the engine revving as if the accelerator pedal was being pressed; however, the pedal was not pressed at the time. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue, and a case was opened. The contact had not heard from the failure. The contact had not experienced a failure mileage was unknown.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #62

I bought a new Jeep Wrangler 4xe 2024. I drove the Wrangler first day to city , and the dashboard suddenly popped up red little turtle warning light, vehicle started lost power in the middle of the street, it was crawling no more than 5 mph. I randomly pressed the cruise control acc couple minute the warning light went off, and I continued to drive on the road, the Wrangler dashboard popped up the red turtle warning light again after I got off the bridge, vehicle no power again ,I have to double park on the street , I turn off the engine and turned it back on the red turtle warning light still there, I heard there is a fan on top of the dashboard blew with loud noise , fast speed and then it gradually slowing down, then the warning light went off, so I could continually drove back to office, I luckily I can make it back to office. I don't think it is safe to drive this vehicle, it could be happen if driving on the highway with 55 mph, it could lost power while driving on the highway, it is serious danger.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #63

On a hybrid mode, drive gear at less than 10mph to park the vehicle. No engine warning lights, and no unusual signs. The car suddenly accelerated as I hit the brakes. At the time of the acceleration, the gasoline engine immediately came on and vehicle only came to stop as I stomped on the brakes for the second time, causing property damage.
