Component/system failure: the hybrid/electric propulsion system intermittently loses power while driving. Electric output is progressively reduced to approximately 50%, then 25%, and then fully disabled, even when sufficient battery charge remains. The condition appears to involve the hybrid control/electric drive system. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. What happened / safety risk: the loss of electric propulsion occurs unpredictably during normal operation, including both highway and city driving. The reduction in available power and sudden loss of electric functionality creates a potential safety concern, particularly when driving in traffic or at higher speeds, where reduced or inconsistent propulsion may impact the ability to maintain speed or respond to driving conditions. Additionally, the vehicle is subject to a high-voltage battery recall involving fire risk, which raises concern regarding safe operation and storage of the vehicle. Reproduction / dealer confirmation: the issue has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealership (johnson auto plaza, brighton, CO). The dealership also confirmed that the same issue was reproduced on another Jeep Wrangler 4xe vehicle on their lot. Inspection by manufacturer / others: the vehicle has been inspected by the dealership and escalated to Jeep engineering. The manufacturer has been unable to diagnose the issue due to the absence of diagnostic codes and has not identified a repair. Warning lamps / messages / symptoms: no consistent warning lamps or diagnostic codes are present when the failure occurs. The loss of electric functionality happens without a predictable pattern and without clear diagnostic indicators. Additional notes: the issue occurs unpredictably under all normal driving conditions, including: highway driving at speed city driving at low speed various battery charge levels (low and high) the dealership has suggested possible driver-related causes; unsupported by car behavior.
Subsequent to the 68c recall software update, my vehicle is suffering from intermittent loss of acceleration. Even with a full charge of battery, when driving the 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe in ev mode, occasionally the car will shut of ev mode and transition to gas/hybrid mode. The problem is the vehicle changes from ev mode to gas/hybrid it can take 10 seconds. In the meantime there is no ability to accelerate. The pedal is dead. It occurred 4 times in random places. Once on a regular country road, once straining on a steep hill once merging with traffic on the highway the last time I drove it was when I lost acceleration while making a left hand turn on a busy intersection. It would have been a head on collision if the other driver hadn't slammed on their breaks. This was my last time with the vehicle and it has been sitting at the dealership since January. The dealership service department tells me stellantis is not working on a fix for this issue, even though it is a serious safety defect. Since then I have been pursuing lemon law however this process is taking forever. They refused to provide a loaner car. I was renting a vehicle but it was too costly. I ultimately had to buy another vehicle, even thought I spent $70,000 on a brand new Jeep that is sitting at a dealership. They claim no fault found. The dealership drove it a total of 10 miles in ev mode. No fault found. They are putting people in danger and making us qa test while they push out software updates that aren't tested in the real world. This vehicle is trying to kill me. It will either explode and burn down the house or cause a collision. They need to make this right. Please help.
The vehicle has experienced repeated unexpected stalling during normal operation. After a dealership visit and representation that recall-related work was complete, the vehicle stalled again within hours. There is an active recall related to this issue with no available remedy. Due to safety concerns, the vehicle is not being driven. The manufacturer has not provided clear guidance regarding repair or safe operation, and the vehicle has been effectively unusable for an extended period of over 60 days.
Mpg not what window sticker claims. Window sticker claims 18 mpg city, 23mpg highway, 20 combined. Getting 13 combined.
My 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN 1c4rjxp63sw595577) is included in NHTSA recall 25v-741 (fca 68c) for a high-voltage battery defect that can cause a fire while parked. Jeep instructed owners not to recharge the vehicle and to park outside, away from structures, because the defect may lead to thermal events even when the vehicle is off. As of today, the manufacturer states the remedy is “not yet available. ” this means the vehicle cannot be charged, stored in a garage, or used normally. I am a lessee still making payments on a vehicle that cannot be safely used. The lack of a remedy puts property and personal safety at risk. I am requesting NHTSA oversight to ensure fca/stellantis provides immediate relief such as a loaner vehicle or repurchase for owners and lessees affected by this recall.
Vehicle randomly loses power mid acceleration- have been stuck in oncoming traffic multiple times. Usually happens when under electric power.
The vehicle suddenly has a check engine light appear on the dash with a display message “performance limited, service fuel system”. This issue effectively caused the vehicle to enter a “limp mode” while driving it and limited its speed while driving. This reduced the speed of the car while driving at highway speed. The dealer has stated the issue is a high pressure fuel pump issue and a control module issue.
I was driving the Jeep on route 35 in NJ when all of a sudden, the car lost power, jerked forward thrusting be towards the windshield. The "d" on the gear shift started blinking and the check engine light went on. The dashboard message indicated something along the lines that I had to put the car in parking "p". The car behind me beeped and almost rear ended me as it's a fast road and my car slowed dramatically and unexpectedly. Ultimately, I was able to glide into a parking lot on the side street and called the tow truck. The dealership said that a faulty ota was sent out which caused the issue and that it has happened to many people. There were no symptoms or warning lights prior to the event. The dealership updated the vehicle and said it was safe to drive but I am not convinced based on the experience of others, which I have read in forums, who have had the same thing happen multiple times even after having the dealership update installed. Apparently, this ota issue was widespread.
Driving normally then loss of power and forced us to pull over. Check engine light on. Super, super dangerous. This is after an ota update. Many other Jeep Wrangler owners reporting the same issue: [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
On 10/10/25, my 2025 Jeep received an over-the-air (ota) software update intended for the uconnect infotainment system. Following the update, the vehicle experienced a complete powertrain failure. It became undrivable, shut off entirely, and refused to shift out of park. This occurred without warning and posed a serious safety risk, especially had it happened while driving. The issue appears to be related to the hybrid control module, which was affected by the software update. The vehicle displayed multiple warning lights and fault codes (including service hybrid drive system). I had to contact roadside assistance and have the vehicle towed to a dealership. Jeep has since acknowledged the issue and pulled the update, but I am concerned about the potential for permanent damage to the powertrain and the safety implications of such a failure. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this matter to ensure proper accountability and prevent similar incidents for other owners.
Vehicle shut down without warning while driving 6 times within an hour time period trying to get to nearest repair facility. No throttle response and loss of power steering upon occurrence. After pulling over and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle functioned normally for 5 to 10 more minutes but a check engine light stayed illuminated. Vehicle was operating on battery power, not gas engine, each time. Dealership has possession of the vehicle currently.
After Jeep released an ota update on Friday, I started my vehicle on Saturday and started to drive and in about 2-3 minutes all lights on dash started flashing and lost all power to vehicle and was luck enough to coast to the side of the road. The vehicle message said place car in park. Had to turn vehicle off then could shift into park. Then restarted now cel is on but vehicle started and again 2 min later same problem no power had to coast to side of road, shut vehicle down and restart. This happen a several times one time I also lost power steering. I was just lucky enough to be on side roads and not the highway. The vehicle totally loses all propulsion and you have zero power to the vehicle and also lost power steering.
My vehicle did a software update Friday, October 10 10th after the update the vehicle went into a limp mode. I had to put the vehicle in park. Turn the vehicle off. Turn the vehicle back on immediately a check engine light came on. After the incident, the vehicle would only operate for about 10 minutes and I would have to repeat the same steps in order to get me safely home. Basically left me stranded with no power steering no warning that the vehicle even turned off just simply stopped in traffic in some cases and I was losing control.
