3 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/06/2020

While in cruise control mode on a highway doing speed of 70 mph when coming to a slight bump in the road on a curve causes the vehicle to go into severe shaking mode, even after canceling the cruise control by either braking or canceling manually it continues. The only way it stops is if I pull off the highway and stop the car completely.

5 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 09/09/2020

While driving approximately 40 mph through a double curve on a city street the steering locked up on my 2018 Jeep wranlger. A steering error, check engine light, traction control and abs light all came on. The vehicle had to be towed back to the dealer. This is now the 3rd time the vehicle has been taken to the dealer (twice via tow). Each time, the scanner has given the same codes yet fca has returned the vehicle to me stated its fixed. The steering locking up could have resulted in an accident harming myself or another vehicle.

6 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/25/2020

On 8/3/2020 with 300 miles battery is dead. On 8/13/2020 took to dealership and found nothing. 8/13 engine died at a signal and radio shuts down. Jeep is fine for 9 days without engine light on. 8/24 engine light returns on. 8/25 engine dies at a signal, and the radio shuts down. While on the freeway, battery lights, abs, and traction/stabilizer lights come on. The power steering goes out, and was hard to steer. The heater comes on via defrost vents blasting hot air and unable to turn off. Power acceleration goes out. Very scarey and dangerous. All lights are flashing on dash panel and the car is dies. Jeep towed to dealership. On 8/27 the technician tried to charge batteries for one and half hours on 1st attempt with no success. Technician said battery severely discharged and they could not retrieve information. On 8/31 after hours on a charge on the 2nd attempt, the batteries charge and technician cleared all codes technician drove it a couple of days (mileage is now 670) and because no codes returned "on", says the Jeep is fixed. On 9/3 we pick up the Jeep. The next day 9/4 new panel lights come on for the parksense system. The dash panel says to wipe clean. They are clean. The turn on/off button light continues to blink. Opened a case # 77098337 with Jeep care on 8/31 and have had no help and sent detailed documention and videos of the problems. The cause is definitely electrical with the batteries not being able to hold a charge. We are in fear of driving this Jeep and being stranded somewhere remote and have what happened to us happen again ending in an injury accident or death because of the loss of power to steering and acceleration. Extremely dangerous. We thought the Jeep was going to catch fire because of the heat coming out of the vents. Please help! I have videos but cannot upload here so took screenshots from the videos.

7 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2017 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/17/2020

Speed sensor went out on passenger side rear tire at 8000 miles, nearly got in accident on interstate as vehicle in the middle of driving practically stopped to 10 miles an hour. Second sensor driver side rear went out at 40, 000 miles just outside warranty and the same thing happened on the interstate to my wife. She is now scared to drive vehicle. Called Jeep and they did nothing. I paid for repair, but can't repair my wife's syche. I expect a recall, it is not safe for the sensors to go out like that. There are many Jeep message boards that depict same issues. It is my intent to contact an attorney for further reproduction considerations.

15 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/19/2020

While driving 70 on interstate 95 the vehicle started to shake immensely. Had to immediately bring the vehicle to a speed of 35 to stop. This almost caused an accident with the vehicle behind as they had to brake and veer into another lane to avoid it. I am in palm beach FL and will be bringing to dealer right away. The vehicle is a 2019 with 13k miles which I just purchased last week.

16 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/16/2020

On March 16th drove to work and parked car. Left work and got into car in parking lot. Upon trying to start the car we experienced multiple electrical issues as well as loss of power steering, traction control, stability control, engine start/stop failure, push start unresponsive. Car finally started although multiple lights remained on. Drove the car slowly to fca dealer closest to home and explained issues to service advisor tyler pennington. Dealer had car in service for approximately 3 weeks until today 4/3/2020. Picked up from service manager al begil. Mr. Begil explained that they never could physically find the source of the issues despite going through many wiring harnesses, modules, fuse boxes, etc. Communicated with fca engineering multiple times over the three weeks. Seems like it was engineering advised dealer to try something and if that doesn't work try let engineering know and then they would try something else. Our service adviser said that they had never seen anything like it. When I picked up the vehicle, I was told to drive around town slowly for several days in case power steering goes out again. Don't go on highway. Paperwork from dealer doesn't show any correction for concern. Called fca customer support upon arriving home. Customer support advised that my issues needed to be "escalated" and that someone would reach out to me on Monday or Tuesday. I now go through weekend without vehicle having to go to work every day. Fca customer service said they can't offer a loaner because we got car from dealer. Extremely unprofessional service department at dealer. Not much better from fca since I won't hear back for at least 3-4 days. Have notes of conversation with service manager that scared my wife and I to death. Just too much to write here.

18 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/04/2020

I purchased this new 2020 Jeep in December 2019; the Jeep now has about 800 miles on it. When driving the vehicle at any speed the Jeep will dart to the left into on-comming traffic with no warning and for no appearant reason. The faster the speed the more radical the swerve into traffic the incident. I have not been in accident but had lights flashed, numerous hand signals and horns blown at me in the Jeep for reckless driving. The dealership - cecil Jeep of burnet texas has verified the problem and is troubleshooting potential issues with a factory engineer. Software and damper upgrades have been confirmed properly done and up to date.

19 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2017 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/01/2020

Several times, at least 100 my stability control has activated on clear dry roads. When this happens at highway speed the vehicle twitches severely and it can be difficult to stay in your lane on a dry road. If you were on a slippery road it would likely cause a slide. Also when this happens the vehicle slows. I've had the stability control activate when merging on the freeway, my car slowed so much and suddenly the car behind me had to brake and honked their horn. I've had my vehicle serviced at, at least 2 different Chrysler Jeep dealerships 5 different times so far, it's still not fixed. Currently, my vehicle is in the shop and it's been there over a week this time. Still, no idea what's causing the problem. When the problem is happening the warning light on the dash actives but it doesn't stay on so there's no code for the dealer to view.

20 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/28/2020

Stabilizer control and throttle control light came on. Vehicle was taken in for repair. Vehicle was picked up and the steering felt light. As I'm driving on the highway I hit a bump and the steering wheel began to shake violently. I slowed down and it stopped. I called the dealership and explained what happened and I'm getting the run around. Claim it could be warp rotors. It's not warped rotors after I did some research. I found out this vehicle has what's called a death wobble.

21 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/21/2020

Driving at about 60 mph when I went over bridge separators and the whole front end started to wobble and shake until I slowed to approx. 40 mph thought the front wheels were going to come off.

22 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/18/2020

Steering/wandering issue with 2019 unlimited sport stock tires/configuration. Seems dangerous on the road. Difficult to drive and return to straight after turning. Won't go back to straight after turning and seems to be a lot of slack in the steering.

23 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2017 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/07/2020

The vehicle's traction control light alarmed and automatically applied brakes heavily resulting in a near miss rear end collision. The vehicle hindered the gas pedal and I was forced to a stop on the middle of a heavily travel roadway. The vehicle is still under factory warranty. I called Chrysler and made an appointment. After 4 days, I was told nothing is wrong with my vehicle.

24 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2015 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 12/13/2019

Last Friday afternoon (12/13/19) I had a significant brake malfunction where I believe the abs system falsely thought a wheel was locked up and released the brakes or made them much less effective during a normal stop (my interpretation of what happened especially after some online research). I was travelling at approx. 45 mph and the light ahead turned yellow and I pressed the brakes to stop. The brakes were ineffective, and I realized I was not going to be able to stop in time before entering the intersection. I decided to run the light and pull over on the shoulder immediately. I then proceeded to drive again in a slow fashion and apply the brakes. I had the same ineffective response. I tried a third time with the same results. I believe the abs was being engaged falsely. I was alone in the vehicle and no cars were in front of me. I am certain that if I was on a crowded major highway and I was had to stop I would have crashed unnecessarily because there was no need for the abs to engage. The above incident occurred approx. 3 hours away from my house in the vicinity of davenport. I brought the Jeep to posner Jeep who checked the vehicle and re-initialized the abs and said they didn't find any problem. I bought the Jeep in 2015 from arrigo Dodge in tamarac and have had several issues with the abs system and sensors. I strongly feel that the issue can happen again and can cause accidents and possibly deaths if not dealt with appropriately.

25 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 12/12/2019

Vehicle shut off while driving with no warning. Would not restart. Many warning lights. Was traveling in the passing lane moving at about 70mph when vehicle turned off. All exterior lighting went out at night. And I had to coast and wait for a tow on the side of the road.

26 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 11/23/2019

The steering in the 2019 Jeep jl Wrangler is so loose and wanders across the lanes at highway speeds that it has become too dangerous to drive on the freeway. It does not stay centered and it is very difficult to keep straight. It requires so much concentration to work the steering wheel to keep it in the lane that it's just not worth the drive and the extreme stress.

28 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2007 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 11/19/2019

My 2007 Jeep Wrangler has a seriously dangerous problem commonly referred to as the death wobble! I had never heard of it until it did it while I was driving down a smooth suburb street and I searched the internet for help. The Jeep owners community named it the death wobble because it literally wobbles and shakes without any warning lights, without anything triggering it, on every type of road, and at every speed. After it happened on the interstate with my son in the car with me, I no longer allowed my children to ride in the Jeep at all. We almost died that day as it shook so violently almost putting us in the opposite side of the interstate! we missed getting t-boned by an 18 wheeler by just a hair. It was so frightening! the Jeep dealership service dept said there's nothing that they can do about it and that it was very common. How is such a danger common??? how can these vehicles be legally sold?? the last time it happened I was alone and I ended up in a ditch. I was able to drive out of the ditch and went to nearby auto shop. Their diagnosis was that the engine "sling a rod" they said. For 3 months now, I have been making payments on a Jeep sitting dead in an auto shop. As a single mom I can't afford such a huge repair and route 66 warranty company decided to cancel my already paid for extended warranty when I filed the claim on it. They denied it and said they're canceling me. This vehicle is going to kill someone. Please help!!.

29 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 11/14/2019

Driving my vehicle it started raining I went to use my wipers they do not work. My esc light keeps coming on and off. My mechanic said it's the tipm. Please advise if Jeep with help me with this costly problem.

30 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 11/14/2019

While driving on a highway, and also on local roads, a service shifter error message comes up on the dash display. Right after that numerous error lights come on indicating numerous failures along with a check engine light. In addition, the steering locks up making it extremely difficult to steer the vehicle. Makes it very difficult to steer the vehicle when this happens. And, it has happened several times. There are videos online that show this failure on other new Jeep Wranglers.

31 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 11/01/2019

My teenage daughter at 55 mph lost control of steering on interstate 99. She described it as a flat tire. Upon inspection- nothing flat. I as her mother drove- sane conditions. She almost wrecked and caused a series of vehicles behind her to do so as well. It is a problem our local Jeep dealer has tried to repair. Recall performed and yet still present. It's a very very unsafe vehicle. She's in college and unable to drive to class. The death wobble is infect there. I will sue whomever if anything happens to her or anyone else. I love the Jeep products. This has less then 6000 miles on it. I hand another one sahara. 2019- sane bull beginnnjng at 3790 miles. I am seeking a lawyer. Both my older teens are in danger and it's not right. We paid cash in full and the Jeeps hv to sit here!.

32 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/25/2019

The first incidence, the anti lock brakes seized while driving on a dry evening at a speed of about 25mph causing the vehicle behind me to nearly collide and forcing us both off the road. I had it looked at bh a mechanic and he found nothing so said to bring it back next time it happens. The vehicle was fine for a week and then it happened again from the driveway. It happened 3 times on the road nearly causing an accident and several other times forcing drivers behind me to pass. I find it happens in the first mile or 2 after starting a drive and then is ok. I brought it back to the mechanic and he suggested replace all of the electrical modules associated with brakes and replace the brakes and pads since the seizing of the abs has caused premature wear of the brakes. I am concerned for my safety and the safety of others but cannot afford $1300 repair especially if it should be covered under safety recall.

33 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2015 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/23/2019

Vehicle shuts down completely. The interior still has power but the power steering and engine stops. It restarts but act like it is not getting any fuel. It runs fine after it is cranked until the next time it happens. It is very dangerous as.

34 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/21/2019

Immediately after entering the roadway (right turn) and at approximately 5 mph the brakes applied without warning or human intervention. When this situation occurred 2 dash warning lights appeared, the esc activated and the abslight activated. This creates an unexpected situation for those vehicles traveling behind and not expecting the vehicle in front of them to suddenly brake. Jeep has indicated the failure of a wheel speed sensor to be the cause of this sudden braking.

35 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/14/2019

First my power windows wouldn't work while driving, I pulled off the side of the road and turned the car off and that temporarily fixed the issue (it has happen twice since). That same day I was driving on the interstate using my cruise control set at 70mph and the traction control light came on and the cruise control shut down and disabled itself while keeping the cruise control light on and not allowing me to turn off or reset the cruise control. (these lights went out the following day). A couple days later while driving, a warning of the rear drivers side turn signal being out came on (this comes and goes now almost daily). Last night while my Jeep was parked in driveway of my home the headlights and dome light started coming on randomly. The headlight and dome light switch where both in the off position and the keys were on my kitchen table inside the house (this is continuing to happen in the parking lot at work also). When I got in it to go to work and while idling the hazards lights would randomly blink twice and then stop, wait a couple minutes and happen again. While sitting in the parking lot at work I noticed that when this happen the headlights are also turning on, they turned off after a minute or two, and then it happens again. It is a rainy day but bright enough that I could not tell if the lights were randomly going in and out while driving. Regardless this is turning in to a serious safety issue and it seems to be all too common with these fiat-Chrysler vehicles.
