36 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/05/2019

My Jeep began wobbling a few months after I purchased it last July 2018. Wobbling has only occurred while driving on the highway. They did a computer update last year that was suppose to fix the problem but on 10/5/19 my Jeep began to wobble uncontrollably any time I reached 50 or above. I took it in on Monday 10/13 and was told the problem was repaired but the next day while doing 50mph it began to wobble. The temperature reads 800 degrees randomly since the start and they finally told me problem was fixed. The cars stalls randomly at red lights and I need to turn it off and restart it. When this happens the gas petal locks and I am not able to do anything unless I restart the car. This also happened one time while I was reversing the car when I shift to drive the car did not move and the petal locked. My radio has been replaced 3 times because it does not work properly and they though that was the reason why the temperature was reading 800 degrees. Still read 800 degree 3 radio's later for. The engine makes a click sound every so often not sure what that is about.

37 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/01/2019

Driving along highway speeds, 70-75mph and hit slightly uneven terrain (the lip from a bridge onto the highway) the vehicle began shaking uncontrollably. This continued for a while until I eventually was forced to slow down by pulling towards the shoulder. I have researched this problem and I can see numerous people calling it by the term "Jeep death wobble". The issue is roughly the exact same as everyone else. My vehicle has been checked by the dealer and they state they serviced it by replacing the steering damper however the issue has still continued after that. It is random however extremely scary when traveling at highway speeds and having the vehicle uncontrollably shake until you have to slow down, which is not easy to do on a busy highway.

38 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 09/27/2019

9/27/2019. 4:30pm. Accelerated normally on city street from stop light and made left turn. As I turned, engine choked and stumbled and vehicle had reduced power, slowing vehicle. Traction control dash light came on. Car behind almost hit me. After about 10 seconds, engine returned to normal and vehicle picked up speed. 10-15 seconds later same thing happened again with traction control and anti lock brake dash lights coming on. Engine reduced power and vehicle slowed again in traffic. After 10 seconds, engine returned to normal, dash lights went off. Vehicle has been normal since then. Weather at the time: sunny, 85 degrees, daylight. Roads completely dry. Vehicle did not drive thru water, etc. Had been driving on city streets 25-40 mph for 20 minutes. Called dealer. No help on phone. Took vehicle to Jeep dealer on Nov 6, 2019 and they found code "c1043 performance" but said nothing more. Tech write up says "left rear tone wheel performance code has gone stored. No cause present. Reset code". About 35,800 miles on vehicle. Vehicle has never been off road or modified in any way. Stock Wrangler 4 door sport.

40 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 09/08/2019

I was going around 65 mph on the freeway and I hit a pothole, my Jeep started to "death wobble". It stated to violently shake and vibrate almost pulling the steering wheel out of my hand. I slowed down to under 45 mph and it stopped. The violent shaking lasted for about 6-10 seconds. I just purchased the Jeep 2 days ago. It is completely stock with the factory tires and the pressure in them was fine. It was also not cold, the high at the time was 97 degrees.

41 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 09/04/2019

Sway bar light and other indicators flashing because of water entering the electronic sway bar disconnect box in front of the sway bar, under the front of the vehicle in a non-waterproof containment, causing multiple shorts. Common issue in 2012 Jeep Wrangler rubicon unlimited 4x4 because of poor design. This happens when driving in heavy rain, while driving if you hot a large puddle water splashes up in to the box shooting it out.

42 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 09/04/2019

Have had the Jeep for only 3 weeks now and on the second week the "engine light" turned on, took it to the dealership and was told it was due to not closing tight the gas cap tight when I put gas but the thing is that "I" had not even fueled it because I did not have the Jeep long enough to need to fuel it up. The "sespension", steering is very wobbly to and from any where I drive it in town or city and more so when I drive it on the freeway, it is a task and sruggle; arms and hands are sore after I get home for me to try to keep it steady , if I do not stay focus and hold tight onto the steering wheel when driving it , the Jeep will go on either to the left or right. I have to be very extra focused and careful when changing lanes as the manouver when doing so or streering to drive/changing lanes is not pleasant nor steady but wobbly and if I do not hold on tight to the steering wheel, the Jeep will go off the road. The "breaks", when I break, the Jeep is late in stoping, I have to calculate to break way ahead in order not to hit the vehicle in front of me also when starting back up from my foot on the break, it does not take off as soon as I let off the break as I expext it to but jerks instead taking time to drive on and move. Also when turning to the right or left, the suspension feels like the street or road is really bumpy when its not. Regret buying a Jeep.

43 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/25/2019

The car shakes uncontrollably when driving on the highway and after hitting a bump or imperfection in the road. I have had the problem fixed once before a few months ago. Last wee when driving back from dropping my son off at college the car shook uncontrollably at least a dozen times. The car seemed to shake at higher speeds and I would have to pull the car off the road to almost a complete stop to make the shaking stop. I also had the car repaired for the same issues at scap Jeep in fairfield CT a few months ago. They said it was the steering damper. The car was fine for a few months but the problem came back again. The incident happened on 8/25. We fear taking the car on the highway.

44 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2007 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/05/2019

The day before yesterday my car died on the side of the road, I thought maybe I had ran out of gas because the light was on. I filled up with the gas can and the Jeep did not start. I tried to jump it using cables and it wouldn't turn over. I went to autozone and bought a new battery, the Jeep started after that. Yesterday I got an oil change, they checked my battery and showed me the oil after the change, said everything was golden. I was on my way home when my battery light popped on again, I kind of shook it off considering I just replaced it. Well my car jerked me forward, every single light turned on and my steering wheel locked up. I pulled off to the side of the high way as much as I could and my car was completely dead. I got it towed to a mechanic and they called to tell me that the issue was my "tipm" and that I would have to get it towed to a dealership. As I googled what that was regarding my year make and model I found out there was a recall on this about 7 years ago for my Jeep specifically.

45 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/05/2019

Premature abs sensor failure at 37,000 m ,stability control braking a wheel making car pull in that direction, not an isolated case all 2016 and 2017 Jeep wranger has the same problem with less than 40,000m safety issue. Abs dtc c102a. Vehicle was in motion ,on city street . This can create an accident. Chrysler is not recalling this vehicles passing the cost of repair to the customers, bad part desing with premature failures.

46 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2007 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/05/2019

Vehicle would stall and put itself into limp mode upon driving at highway speeds. Happened numerous times over the course of a 3 week period. Obd-ii threw codes pertaining to failing sensors in egr, camshaft and acceleration pedal. Read many online forums about other with Jeep and Chrysler vehicles having faulty tipm units. My car will now not run without sounding like it's being starved of fuel. I fear the bad tipm may have also caused the fuel pump to go bad. Chrysler was less than helping in suggesting I bring the vehicle in and was told my warranty (if I even had one still valid) could be voided for bringing the vehicle to a shop my friend owns for the repairs instead of a dealership. This car has been nothing but problems since I purchased it two years ago. I'm in the thousands of dollars in non routine repairs and owe too much on it to walk away from it. It's my daily driver and have no other vehicle to get to work or around.

47 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2013 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/02/2019

The vehicle keeps losing power at the most inopportune times (passing a vehicle; in a construction zone with no shoulder; on a highway). I have almost gotten into 4 accidents b/c of this problem. Whenever the vehicle goes faster than 70 mph. . . Power is lost. It continually throws off a code of 0369. The dealership has replaced the following to try to fix the problem: replaced abs system; replaced stability control system; replaced oil filter housing; replaced the cam twice; swapped the cam; replaced the cam phaser; replaced all 4 cam phasers; re-flashed the pcm; replaced the pcm. Today it goes in to the dealership for the 10th time to try to get it fixed. It is a death trap to all that share the road with it, not to mention extremely unreliable. It has never been off-roaded and is well maintained.

48 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/29/2019

I do not know the exact cause, but the vehicle has extremely loose steering and wanders all over the lane while driving at all speeds. Very difficult to control vehicle which makes it extremely unsafe to drive at higher speeds. Combine the two with a bump in the road, and the vehicle jumps to the side. Loose steering is easily noticed while the vehicle is turned off and parked.

49 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2008 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/24/2019

While in motion driving down the highway and on a city street car suddenly dies, no power steering, lights flashing, horn blaring, windshield wipers and fluid are activated and doors lock and unlock. Mechanic informs me it is tipm issue with 2007-2011 Jeeps/chryslers/dodges. I investigated online and Jeep forums etc. Support this and yet Jeep refuses to accept accountability- as someone who has nearly wrecked on multiple occasions, I implore you address this or someone is going to die, because Jeep continues to ignore this problem!!! this also happens in the middle of the night when the car is parked stationary and isn't even on- I have woken in a panic several times by what I think is my car alarm going off, to find the horn blaring, blower motor, flashers, interior lights, and the wipers going on and off. Also, while driving at night, the lights suddenly go out. Once again I urge you to investigate this dangerous problem, because this will cause a serious accident, or worse if these issues are not resolved! *these incidents have happened on multiple occasions, but the most recent was today, so that is the date used to answer "when did this happen".

50 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/20/2019

All the electronics in my steering wheel went out, the horn stopped working, and my airbag no longer works. Some of my warning lights on the dash even stopped working. The fm/am radio also no longer works. I took it to the dealership and they said my clock springs went out. I am very worried about my airbag not deploying in a crash. None of these work, whether the car is moving or stationary.

51 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2014 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/14/2019

Driving down the freeway all dash lights flash on including traction light and abs and feels like my brakes are pumping even when I did not touch the brakes with dinging sound radio shuts off, horn does not work or the buttons on the steering wheel to work the radio. Very dangerous esp when driving down the freeway.

53 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 06/23/2019

While stepping on the brakes, the service shifter light comes on, power steering goes out, then the dashboard goes crazy with all sorts of warnings blinking and dinging: sway bar, stability control, blind spot alert, auto park, etc. Temp goes up and down, speedometer goes crazy. When the vehicle is shut off and re-started, it usually starts as normal. Most occurrences have been when slowing down (in line at a drive thru, approaching a stoplight). The Jeep has been in the shop 4 times. This service shifter late first came on June 23 and it occurred four times that day. First they repaired the power steering. The problem happened again and they replaced the module in the steering column. The problem happened again and the dealership could not duplicate the problem. It happened again and the vehicle had to be towed to the dealership where it is still sitting.

54 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 06/07/2019

(in motion). As in many forums and youtube videos, the steering wheel of my car feels shaking, wobble or loose in the high-ways or above 30 mph. This situation is making it hard to keep the vehicle going straight on the roads. Beginner drivers could get nervous with this feeling and cause accidents, as well; for the normal drivers to keep the car straight must constantly (beyond of current standards) give inputs to the steering wheel, getting tired sooner compering with other drivers, the Jeep is increasing the probability of accidents because of this due is like being fighting against the steering wheel and the only answer from Jeep is "the car is like that" which is really dangerous.

55 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2008 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 05/29/2019

Issues started with vehicle not able to start and inability to shift out of park. Battery would test good. After disconnecting battery, vehicle would start as usually. Issue began to escalate with oil light and esp light randomly lighting up on the dash. Finally, electronic throttle control and esp light would come on while driving and accelerator was unresponsive while driving on highway. I have replaced the throttle body and the entire wiring harness with no resolution. I am now replacing the computer in hopes that it will resolve the issues. I have had the Jeep in for auto service 5 times since January.

56 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2007 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 05/25/2019

Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 55 mph, when the engine failed and turned off the vehicle. The contact stated the wipers and lights turned on and off. The contact saw smoke coming from the front of the vehicle and saw fire sortly after. The contact stated he pulled off negative battery cable from the battery and the fire turned off on it's own. A police was not filed. The fire department was not contacted. The vehicle was towed to independent mechanic, where he was told tipm shorted out and cause the fire. The vehicle was not repaired. . The local dealer has not been notified of failure. The vehicle has not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer has not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 85,000. The VIN was not available. Dp.

57 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2013 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 05/07/2019

After sitting idle all night, started vehicle in morning and abs and esc lights came on. I was unable to accelerate as the rear brakes were being engaged by a faulty sensor. I shifted into neutral and back to drive and lights went out and back to normal operation. I pulled out onto the main thoroughfare and the Jeep stuttered upon acceleration and felt like it was losing power before it stopped. Both lights came back on. After shifting back to neutral, I was able to get back onto the street and to the dealer for service. This is the second time this condition occurred in this vehicle. In July of 2016 the right rear wheel speed sensor was replaced by fitzgerald Jeep in clearwater. Codes c1035 and c1049 were present at the time of the repair. This faulty sensor could have caused an accident with injuries, at best, or a fatality/fatalities at worst. The computer program that allows a faulty sensor to override the drivers action is a malfunction that needs to be addressed.

58 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2013 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 04/28/2019

While driving with cruise control engaged on the highway at roughly 80mph, the cruise control kicks off. Check engine light displays and the esc light comes on. Vehicle loses power and decelerates on its own. Have to floor the gas pedal to keep the vehicle moving. Experiences momentary bursts of speed but then speed declines again although the gas pedal is still pressed to the floor. I believe this is attributed to the clockspring assembly but my vehicle was not included in the recall. Can my VIN be added so I can get this issue resolved?.

59 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 04/15/2019

Jeep jlu began "death wobble" at 70mph while on I-485 (speed limit is 70). Had to slow down to 40mph to get it to stop, which almost caused a crash with vehicles behind/beside me slowing to match. Since then, "death wobble" has occurred 2-3 times per week on various roads. Speeds 50-70. I now have 3 roads where I can replicate it and will be going back to the dealership. Was told months ago by dealership "it's not death wobble; sometimes stuff gets stuck in the wheels and makes a clunking sound. " sorry, not sorry. Entire Jeep front end felt like it was on hydraulics.

60 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 04/10/2019

The speed sensor for the front brakes on my 2016 Jeep Wrangler failed and led to costly repairs. The brakes locked up so bad they stalled the Jeep when I let out the clutch. The Jeep literally slammed on it's own brakes in the middle of traffic without me having applied the brakes. The brake lights of course did not come on and I nearly had an accident. The repair cost $1200. The Jeep dealer told me "this is a common problem".

61 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/23/2019

!!! car currently @ dealership for 5th time for same issue !!! when driving @ hwy speeds and hit a bump divot or pothole the entire Jeep violently vibrates shakes and sways from front to back. After the latest "fix" now it still vibrates shakes sways and now bounces the vehicle into another lane my family & I nearly hit another vehicle on the hwy on Saturday 3/23/19. We have had the vehicle into dealership 4 times since January 2019 for them to fix this issue and fca/dealership have no idea how to remedy this issue. After this last incident on 3/23/19 I don't want my family or myself in this Jeep. I was very scary on 3/23/19 being bounced into another lane with other cars right behind and along side of me. It was a white knuckle driving experience I don't want to happen again. Its dangerous unsafe alarming & threatening to all drivers!.

62 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2008 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/15/2019

Jeep has major electrical issues. Jeeps tipm module has caused the Jeep to die while driving, experience lacking power, check engine light to go off and seems to brake itself. I replaced itnless than a year ago and now the dealership is saying it is going out again. Also having problems with pcm and part is on national backorder.

63 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/10/2019

I was driving at 45 miles per hour when my service shifter light went off. Within 1 minute I lost my power steering, and brakes. My car locked into gear and I lost all ability to accelerate. At that point the car started dinging and prompting every code in the car. Sway bar engagement, rear electronics, fuel low, tire pressure, change oil. . . . . I can't remember every one. When I got my car to stop I could not get the car to turn off and all of the fans were blowing on high along with the motor reeving. I finally got it to turn off and called for a tow. The repair shop told me the car had thrown over 100 codes but none were active. They kept my Jeep for 10 days and told me they took it apart and checked everything. I was told because no issues were current they could not find a problem though. I picked it up and not 8 miles down the road the same exact thing happened. This time however I was in heavy traffic where I was almost hit and because I had no brakes or power steering I almost hit a person walking. Thank god I was able to avoid all of that and get pulled over to safety. It is currently in the shop again.

64 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/05/2019

Car was brought in 3 times for death wobble. First could not replicate, then part was replaced with a part removed from another vehicle as the required part was on nationwide back-order. That part was defective, car went back in the shop and waited for new part to come in. On 3/6/19 the death wobble reoccurred with my vehicle. It does not stop until you reduce your speed - difficult to do in heavy traffic. Currently have not received response from dealer to bring car back in. They had fca engineer look at it the last time it was in and will not send me copy of the documentation.

65 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2010 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/01/2019

All the break lights came on at one time (esp, bas, abs) and the traction control will not go off. I was slowing down at a stop sign in a school parking lot. No rain or other weather events occured, on dry pavement.

66 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 02/19/2019

Vehicle steering wheel completely locks up while driving on highway nearly causing an accident as you are unable to correct wheel for up to 10 seconds. While TSB 08-092-18 was issued 7 months ago this presents a significant possibility for accident and injury and should be recalled for anyone affected.

67 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 02/12/2019

Power steering stopped working when driving on highway. Only can steering 10 degrees either right or left. Thank god, I was able to pull over. I restarted and steering cane back.

68 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 02/01/2019

I purchased a 2018 Jeep Wrangler (jl 4 door sahara) in August 2018. At speeds exceeding 55 mph the Jeep shakes uncontrollably making handling/steering close to impossible. I have to slow down to about 25 mph to gain control of the vehicle. This happens when I hit even a slight bump in the road. My Jeep has already been to dealership for a similar issue (recall on track bar frame bracket) and nothing was found. I have a $48,000 vehicle that I can't take on the highway. Currently less than 5000 miles on the Wrangler. Very dangerous!.

69 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/27/2019

Purchased the brand new 2018 Jeep Wrangler sahara with 40 miles on November 30, 2018. Currently, this vehicle has 1,975 miles. In late December 2018 hit a bump on a highway driving the posted speed of 70mph and the vehicle vibrated a bit and had to slow down to handle the vehicle. Each week after driving the vehicle on daily commute in city conditions at the posted speed of 25-30mph, after hitting a bump in the pavement the vehicle does not handle well, as if I would lose control. On January 27, 2019 driving on a ramp at the speed of 45mph upon entering the interstate the vehicle hit a bump in the pavement, the vehicle begins an uncontrollable vibration and was shaking the steering wheel, I had to pull over. After researching this issue online with the same issue, I feel unsafe driving my only vehicle. For a vehicle valued over $45,000, I need this issue to be investigated before someone is seriously injured. I do not feel safe driving on the interstate at the posted speed. The vehicle feels unstable while driving over any bump in the pavement at 20mph the vehicle wobbles and sways.

70 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/24/2019

A small bump causes the steering wheel and front end of the car to violently shake. It happens at varying speeds, taking your foot off the accelerator or trying to break does not get it to stop, you ride it out. The wheels are shaking along with the steering wheel. In addition, the clock doesn't keep time and radio intermittently drops stations, scans through all of the stations or picks up static. I have a video of not being able to control the radio(on or off), unable to change the volume or shut the radio off. I was not able to use touch screen or the controls on the steering wheel in order to operate the radio. It has been brought in for service on for the shaking 3 times now, going on 4. Jeep says it's fixed the problem by replacing the steering stabilizer/dampener. Jeep knows it is happening and mentioned getting "Jeep engineering" involved and have blacked out information on paperwork we received after repairs, concerned we would see the "contact/ email address". The first service visit they could not get the shaking to happen and "reset the steering to factory settings", "that it was a little off. " the second service appointment the service department "couldn't get it to happen". They had the salesperson I purchased the vehicle from take the car for a ride and compare it to how his jl drove. They asked if a worker "could take the car home and drive it a few days". I agreed. It happened to the worker and they replaced the steering stabilizer/dampener the first time(on that second visit). The third service appointment, they said the "steering stabilizer/dampener was replaced with a faulty stabilizer""that there were still faulty new ones, they were going to replace it. The following day, its violently shaking. It happens in motion, haven't noticed it with turning. I have videos of the shaking happening to the steering and the issues with the radio.
