The left rear seat belt shoulder strap became unattached as my 9 year old, 50 pound grandson was attempting to strap himself in. A week later on the right side of the back seat, that seatbelt was discovered to have a tear more than half way across. I have only the middle seat that is safe for my grandson to sit in. This is only a 3 year old Jeep, the parts without labor is 500. To have the seat belts replaced. It will most likely cost me 1000. To have two seat belts replaced. These are definitely faulty unsafe seat belts.

The driver's side seatbelt does not always stay latched in place. Whether or not the latch is connected, it shows that the seatbelt needs connected and the chime continuously rings, when the vehicle is in motion. Worried whether this will affect other safety features, in the vehicle. Especially the airbag. This issue started on July 27, 2020.

I swerved to miss a deer. I ran off a big drop off&hit on mainly the driver's side. There was over $26k damage repairs done. They have decided to total my Jeep with a little over 36k miles. I ran off the raid&hit on mainly the driver's side. My air bags never deployed but most importantly my seat belt did not prevent me from hitting my face on the steering wheel. I have a gash above my right eye that the emts advised me to go to a hospital to have stitches. Butbwith the covid-19 epidemic fully in force I decided not to go to the next county for medical. Assitance since my local hospital is not equipped to preform the medical assistance that was needed. I missed several. Days of work for this incident. I'm asking for answers to why my air bags did not deploy but most importantly I'm wanting & needing to know why my seat belt did not prevent my face from hitting the steering wheel & also warping my steering wheel in the process. Please I need answers for I've always wanted & dreamed of owning a Jeep. Then I finally was able to purchase one but I need to know that it is also safe for me & my family.

Rear seat belts torn only used rear seats 2 times in the year I've owned the vehicle have had the rear seat folded down the whole time.
I went to my local dealer to perform the recall on the passenger airbag which they performed and as a result of that replacement I now have the airbag warning light illuminated on my dash, the steering wheel controls no longer work, horn included and when I mentioned it to the service technician they indicated that I would have to incur the cost of diagnosing the problem and covering the costs. All was working fine until the airbag recall. To my knowledge the vehicle was in a bay being worked on for the recall. The date reflects the day the steering wheel controls stopped working.

Clock spring driver side is what error code read recall on passenger side fixed. Now reading drivers side clock spring.
The gas cap needs to be recalled. The dealer has replaced it several times and the light still comes on. The seat belt is a recall, but yet they have no parts to fix it. Rhd Jeep's only.
Vehicle was involved in a very serious accident that resulted in the vehicle rolling 4 times. The airbags did not deploy on impact which resulted in the driver sustaining multiple broken bones in the face. Then, during the first roll, the driver was ejected due to a faulty seat belt latch which resulted in very serious critical injuries including a broken back. If these safety features would have worked, the driver would not be in the situation that she is in and suffering through lots of pain and life changing injuries.

I buckled my seatbelt and felt it slip as if it had come unbuckled. The seatbelt was latched, but the metal between the latch and the seat frame had broken in two. The only thing holding the seatbelt latch was the wire and it's covering. Vehicle was stationary when I noticed the problem.

Seatbelt is not recognized as being clicked.
While putting on the seat belt the anchor bracket just brokje off right above the bolt. I bought the car new in 2016 and only has 62300 miles. But this part should never ever break. The car was stationary.
Front driver and passenger seat belt spool malfunctions and does not retract seat belt, leaving too much slack to restrain driver or passenger in the event of an accident. Dealer charges $533. 10 for parts and labor for seat belt replacement. Seat belt is not covered under warranty or by recall (there should be a recall for this). Like an airbag, this should be covered.
The seat belt broke loose from the floor. The metal part that was screwed to the floor actually broke away from the screw. Less than 47,000 miles. But I think this is a safety issue and a seat belt should never break!! I was sitting still simply putting on my belt.
Seat belts were damaged by seat adjusting enough at 20k miles to warrant replacement by Jeep. Now, after 1 year, the passenger back seat is frayed at least 1. 6 cm into the belt, caused by the same thing. Even though vehicle was purchased with the damaged seat belt a month ago, Jeep will not replace the damaged belt.
I noticed, all be it 9 months after buying, my 2018 Jeep Wrangler unlimited rear seat belt is almost cut in two pieces. I don't have people in my vehicle that often, maybe once every couple months. I advised my dealer of the issue in January when I took it in for an oil change. The service manager told me "they tend to do that, its from the seats being laid down". He stated mine was so bad there was no way he could warranty it. He then told me to take it and have it patched, really have it patched? here it is 3 months later and the drivers side rear seat belt is doing the same thing and my seats haven't been let down.
Tl- the contact owns a 2012 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the front driver's side seat belt fails to retract correctly in order to secure the driver in their seat. The contact stated that the seat belts fabric was unraveling. The contact contacted the dealership (franklin sussex auto mall located at 315 state route 23, sussex, NJ 07461 phone number: 877-799-8199) who confirmed the contact that their vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 19v680000 (seat belts). The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and referred the contact to NHTSA to file a complaint. The approximate failure mileage swas 140,000. Gl.
"takata recall" my Jeep airbag light came on, my thermostat housing started leaking, and my 2015 Jeep only has 40k miles.
Electrical issues incl but not limited gauge readouts incorrect, ecm not allowing proper shifts. Engine problems with the valve lifters making noise and broken.
Two months after I purchased my Jeep I had an issue with rear seatbelt getting stuck and noticed a slight tear in fabric. Recently, when I went to get car inspected that the tear was bigger and the car failed massachusetts inspection. So, I paid $400 to replace entire seat belt (my husband thought the dog had chewed), not realizing the defect had occurred long before we had gotten the puppy. The work was done at ohara in falmouth. Wait for parts was absurd. Customer service was terrible. Not even a month after the work was completed and the seatbelt torn again. ! at this point, I inspected all my seatbelts and notices that both rear seatbelts (not the middle) and the front passenger belt all have the same exact tear tight where the buckle falls on the belt. I would love to blame the do, but the dog has not been allowed in the vehicle since the repair. Jeep/Chrysler does not seems to believe that this a product quality defect or a manufacturer issue. They also have no explanation as to why the seatbelts are tearing and claim that it must be something that I am doing with the vehicle. Considering the fact that I have only had 4 passengers ride in my backseat since the repairs , I am baffled. This is a major safety concern. I would think seatbelts should be fairly durable, but these are not. I am disgusted at Chrysler's response and am concerned about the safety of these belts. I cannot spend $1200 to replace belts that may only last a month! I have attached pics this defect. Eatbelts and I have wasted over $400(plus$35 for a rejection sticker) on a repair that did not fix the defect in the seat belt. Dealership has been no help. This is not only very disappointing, but very inconvenient ; as we can not use the rear seats with out seatbelts and therefore this is a major safe ty issue. Please contact me at your earliest convenience.
The seatbelt/airbag light went on at 27000 miles. One dealer said it was the wiring under the seat and another said it was the seatbelt. My municipal mechanic looked up recall information on the issue and it seems as though my vehicle should have been recalled. Any 2013 Jeep Wrangler sport made before 7/1/2013 has a faulty seatbelt. This is concerning and I am scared to have anyone ride on the passenger side. I am attaching the prodemand report. Please contact me as soon as possible. The light went on when I started the car,.
I have a right hand drive 2004 Jeep Wrangler. The right seat belt latch is always sticking causing my seat belt to come loose. The steering wheel starts shaking violently when reaching speeds above 50 mph,if you hit a bump, or if it's windy or an 18 wheeler passes you on highway, the Jeep will rock side to side like it's going to turn over. It's very hard to control the vehicle. I have children to haul around.
Air bag did not deploy and seat belt did not prevent face from hitting steering wheel after being rear ended very hard. Driver seatback was forced and broken backwards into a 45 degree reclined position.
Front passenger seat belt is defective. Gets stuck when trying to pull it out. Takes a few tries to pull it out. Sometimes it wont unlock. Very serious safety hazard. Jeep is always stationary when trying to use the seatbelt. This has been happening for the past year or two. I paid $700. 00 out of pocket to have a new seat belt installed today at a local mechanic. The seatbelt should be warrantied for life of the vehicle. Jeep Chrysler has denied my claim for repair. The seatbelt is a safety issue. Not a luxury item.
Airbag light is on, cruise control (as well as all other controls mounted on the steering wheel) are inoperable. This was gradual; I noticed cruise control didn't work first, then the rest of the controls including the airbag stopped shortly after. This was during highway driving (a coast-to-coast road trip).
I received the recall for NHTSA 16v-734 and the dealer refused to perform recall with out me paying more than $300 because my after market bumper with integrated crush cans would be too hard for them to work on. It is an arb bumper.
On January 30, 2017 another vehicle pulled out in front of me and stopped. I hit that vehicle with my 2016 Jeep Wrangler at about 30-35mph. The impact totaled both vehicles. My Jeep's frame was buckled and twisted all of the way to the rear bumper. The rear body mount bolt were even bent. The airbags didn't deploy and the seat belts didn't pretension. I hit the dash with both knees and got abdominal muscle injuries as well as severe whiplash. I am still under a doctor's care for my injuries including a pinched nerve between c5-c6. Fca opened an investigation and sent me a letter stating that "the rate of deceleration necessary to activate the air bag and air bag system was not present during this accident". The impact buckled my frame and totaled a 5 month old vehicle, but fca wants me to believe that it wasn't severe enough for the air bags to deploy. Fca is either being deceptive or their vehicles are simply unsafe. Either way, due to their deceptive actions, it is impossible to know how many accidents are truly related to this vehicle defect. I found out about the recall (s76) the week after my accident when I filed a complaint with fca. My vehicle was in the dealership for its first oil change two weeks after this recall was issued, but it wasn't repaired and I wasn't informed of a recall. I received my recall notice today, 74 days after my accident. I have the police report, pictures of the Jeep and the frame, the insurance adjuster's cell phone number as well as all correspondence with fca, should you want it.
Driver's side front seat belt latch occasionally does not latch also occasionally will not release without having to open roof pull seat belt slack all the way out and stand up in seat to get out of vehicle. Then have to hit and work with latch approximately 2-3 before it will release. If in an accident not sure if seatbelt latch will hold forces or not let you out of a possible burning car. Also fuel backflows from fill inlet at every fillip if I do not stop it before full.

Was in major front accident air as nor tensioner worked Jeep was totaled. VIN was not on recall list however head lamp came out and nothing happened this vehicle needs to be checked further.
Both front seat-belts locked up with the Jeep parked. They will not unlock to allow you to buckle so that you can drive safely. We took to a Jeep dealership; but they want to charge us over 500 a seat to fix- said it ran out of warranty at 60,000 miles. This makes the vehicle unsafe to drive. I feel that they may be required by you guys to cover seat-belts longer than that. I have a invoice showing that we took the Jeep in and that the seat-belt retractors are stuck, but no way to upload from home.

Our Jeep has a recall for a sensor wire in the front area of the vehicle. I dropped the Jeep at the dealership (mall of georgia chrystler Jeep in buford GA) and received a shuttle ride home. I was called a few hours later by my advisor chris and told that I needed to remove the winch, winch plate, light bar, and lights on the front bumper. The tech needs to remove grill and cannot with this equipment in the way. They offered to remove all the equipment for me for $250. I told the advisor (chris) that the letter received in the mail is adamant that this is to be done at no cost to the owner. He told me that it did not include custom equipment. I called fca, as my letter explained I should do if the dealer was not resolving my issue. I explained the situation as I have above. The fca agent (I do not have her name, but gave them my info) first indicated to me that there should not be any charges for recall repairs, so she called the dealer, talked to chris, and came back to my line telling me exactly what chris had told me that a charge would be expected to remove the custom equipment so they can repair this vehicle. Should there ever be a reason for charging a customer for a recall repair, in a safety recall situation such as this?.
After a couple of weeks we noticed water all on the passenger side of the vehicle after raining. I asked the salesman about the leaks and he stated all Jeeps do that. . Carpets continued to get soaked and cannot see where it is leaking so I asked the maintenance tech after our first oil change and I was told to pull the plug under the carpet and drain the water. . I again was told it was normal for a Jeep to leak. . Approx March 2016 the wife was fed up with the water pouring in and the smell of mildew of the carpet due to leakage. She went to the dealer and complained . She was told we had to make an appointment which would be beyond a month and they would keep it for a spell . No rental or loaner. . . I work out of town and getting it in on appointment is not always feasable being my wife is on disability and needs a vehicle. Since then the passenger seatbelt has stuck on numerous occasion and cannot be operated properly. The problem seems to be latch sticking and not releasing. My wife mentioned to me since she drives it more than me, that it pulls and has been for a long time. When I received a letter from Chrysler around oct 15th I sent in negative words of all these issues and when I got a call about these issues I received a call from bonnie a case manager and we talked. She said to get it to the dealer for repairs and if I had any other issuesto call her back and gave me a case number. I contacted the dealer but no repairs yet. They say wait for appointment. I did go to the recall website and noticed others having a weather issue, a few seatbelts and also the so called death wobble. I asked the wife for the full symptoms and to my surprise it is the known death wobble. She said it will shake violantly after 60mph and then jump out of gear , pop into nuetral. Has happened she said 3 times this year. Jeep has never been offroad and top has never been off. .
