The road was dry it was dark outside ot was 5:58 am and very clear outside. The roads were very dry not slick at alll my car jolted as the breaks tried to stop me but they never atopped me. It was on a back road heading to take my husband to work.

In July of 2016, I was in rush hour traffic on the 495 beltway and had to slam on my brakes at one point from hitting the person in front of me. I was hit from behind at approximately 40mph and then pushed into the car in front of me. The airbags did not deploy. The car had a lot of damage and I had the car repaired. Prior to that accident, the airbag light had come on twice over the previous year and the dealership just reset it when I brought it in for an oil change. The light is on again and they want to charge me to run a diagnostic and have it fixed. I am in virginia and cannot have the car pass inspection with the light on. I'm furious at the dealership and kia!.

This morning while driving, the airbag light illuminated for no apparent reason. The airbags have never been deployed. I was in a residential area with decent roads. I am concerned that the airbags will malfunction and deploy while I am driving and possibly cause an accident. Please investigate. I should not have to spend money on this repair as there is no reason this should have occurred but it is a safety issue. Again, the symbol remains lit. 6/8/16. Site won't accept date.

In April 2016 my wife was involved in an accident which totaled our kia Forte 2011. The air bags failed to deploy following the accident I spent endless weeks with various representatives from kia expressing my concern. I see the recall has taken place but almost 2 years later and after people have died. I am appalled, I was told that my vehicle did as it was supposed to and that air bags dont always deploy. Kia corporate was aware there was an issue. My wife did not die but obviously from the enclosed pictures there was damage done. My wife was hit from behind and then thrown into oncoming traffic at which time the drivers door flew open yet no air bag deployed to protect her. People need to be held accountable these deaths could have been averted.

On 1/15/2016, I hit a massive 10-point buck (deer) head on. It was standing in the middle of the highway, and I drove into it doing 65 mph. The front of my car sustained significant damage; the entire front end was pushed back and the hood was bent back to the windshield. Yet, my airbag did not deploy. I have worked as a paramedic/ff for over 15 years, and I have worked hundreds of accident scenes. I can tell you right now. . . This airbag system failed. With the front end damage that my car sustained, that airbag should have deployed immediately. I have reached out to kia with no response, so perhaps the NHTSA can force kia to fix this. Because I can tell you right now, there are going to be some fatalities if this isn't fixed.

"takata recall" I was traveling at 45 miles per hour when another vehicle made an oncoming left turn into my lane, causing a collision. I hit the other vehicle head on with her front passenger wheel. The airbags did not deploy. Is there a recall on this?.
Airbags failed to deploy when vehicle involved in a front-end collision.
Was in about 40mph front end collison with another vehicle on a city street in 03/2015 airbags failed to deploy and seat belt was worn. Hit my head on steerwheel so hard was knocked out and glasses where hit off my face into the backseat due to airbag failure to deploying. Had a concussion, black eye, whiplash, bruses, and sprains. Ambulance on scene, went to hospital for injuries. Car was a total loss and insurance company took car. About 55,000 miles. Police report, insurance claim, emergency room, and more documentation available up on request.
2010 kia Forte rear ended a 2012 Toyota venza while traveling at approximately 40 mph on wet asphalt pavement. Upon collision, the air bag failed to deploy and seal belt restraint failed to hold back driver of the kia. Drivers forehead hit and bent steering wheel and caused major front end damage to the kia and considerably less damage to the Toyota venza. Kia was not drivable, so it was taken to a salvage yard of a flat bed truck. Driver of kia was taken to hospital for x-rays and evaluation. Driver of kia suffer neck\back pain, bruised forehead and head ache and was prescribed pain pills & anti inflammatory medication. My greatest concern is that I own two kia's, one for each of my collage age kids and fear that the same outcome may occur again with dire consequences. Failure of the air bag deployment and seat belt restraint must be addressed and corrected by kia before more injuries occur.
This is the 2nd head on collision I've had with the kia Forte and on both incidents my airbags did not deploy. This concerns me. Also the car jumps into shift and the brake lights don't always work.

I was hit from behind in my 2011 kia Forte at 70 mph while I was at a complete stop. My brakes did not work at all for me to stop on the road before I was pushed into an 8ft deep ditch, into big branches and my car then bouced through a huge field. My air bags did not deploy as they should have, the front of my car is dented in from the impact of the ditch and then the seatbeat did not lock up, it threw me into the steering wheel. I am very unhappy about this. This is the 3rd time I have personally heard about the airbags not deploying in a kia and the seat belt not locking up.

This is a correction to a complaint filed last week. I checked no on the fatalities question. The kia was in a serious fatal frontal impact but the airbags did not deploy. Kia tested the airbag control module and it had no fault codes and did not record any crash data. Kia has the module now. The other cars airbags worked and the drunk driver survived. . . Updated 10/15/15.
My airbags failed to deploy when a habitual drunk driver hit us head-on 7/11/2013. I had a false sense of security that my airbags would keep me safe. I have required 8 surgeries to mend my brokenness, including a complete hysterectomy, bilateral sacroiliac joint fusions and total knee replacement.
I was hit head-on at 65mph and my airbags failed to deploy. It has caused me horrible injuries including a cervical neck fusion, bilateral sacroiliac joint fusions, necessity of a total hysterectomy due to my uterus & felopian tubes perforating, gastric adhesions and a total knee replacement. I hold kia responsible. I had confidence that I would be safe in my 2011 kia Forte. I lost my very essence of being a woman because my airbags failed after being clobbered head-on by a full-size pick-up truck. Most frustrating is the constant pain and suffering, added to my already a 100% disabled navy veteran.
Was pulling out of a parking lot, when I crashed into a car that was going about 50. My front drivers side headlight was smashed in, radiator was pushed into the engine block, the frame was bent, tore off my bummer, folded my hood and broke my windshield. . The airbags never deployed. .
I was on the interstate passing an 18 wheeler. My rear passenger side tire blew. The tire caused me to make a sharp right hand turn which threw me under the 18 wheeler. The truck went over the passenger side. I was then thrown into oncoming traffic then into the median. The vehicle is totaled - the air bags did not deploy.
Was rear ended by another car traveling 60 mph, passanger side seatbelt did not lock and air bags did not deploy. Driver hit head on drivers side window and passanger suffered whiplash, concusion and back pain from impact and seatbelt not locking to hold them in place. Car was totaled by insurance company.
