Brake lights are on and will not turn off. When the plunger on the brake light switch is moved it will go out and on and sometimes it will blink. It doesn't matter if the vehichle is in motion or still. There is a recall on 2014 kia Fortes and 2015 kia suvs for faulty brake light switches. The part number is the same, so shouldn't the recall cover my 2015 Forte as well?.

Rear brake light bulbs keep burning out. Found a recall for the switch. I brought it in to local repair shop and they say it's the switch. Called kia customer rep and they said there is a recall but it does not apply to my kia Forte. Not good! I have a kia and a Hyundai. Having issues with the Hyundai as well. These are both 2013 models and I expected more. I will not be buying these cars again since they have ongoing issues and the company does not stand behind their product for items that should not wear out in 4 years. Very poor quality.

The brake light on the car goes out often since I bought it, more commonly the right side. I have repeatedly checked and replaced fuses and bulbs. Sometimes the light won't last a month before someone tells me my brake light is not working. This is a hazard. I have not found any issues with the wires or fuses, but through research found earlier models of the kia Forte had a recall for the same issue. The problem being the brake light switch by the pedal. Kia needs to find a fix for this and do a proper recall.
The contact owns a 2010 kia Forte. The contact was pulled over by the police because the passenger side brake bulb failed, was not properly secured within the holster, and had fallen into the trunk. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the stop lamp switch had failed and needed to be replaced. The independent mechanic made the contact aware that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 13v114000 (service brakes, exterior lighting). The vehicle was repaired, but the brake light failed and the vehicle would not maneuver from the park position. A tow company was called, but the vehicle was not towed. The tow driver showed the contact a trick to get the vehicle to move out of the park position. The contact then notified universal kia hickory hollow (5406 target dr, antioch, TN, 37013) and universal kia rivergate (1536 gallatin pike n, madison, TN, 37115) of the failures. The dealers confirmed the recall and stated that the vehicle had already been serviced under the recall, but the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
Brake lights stop working took it to the dealership they said they would fix the brake switch but I'm responsible for the bulbs and the relay and also have to wait until Tuesday for the relay. What's the point of paying for a warranty.

Esc light stays on, brake lights don't work, and cruise control works sporadically, all fuses are working, a quick google search reflects that the a faulty brake light switch might be the cause, which in fact it was.
