When I engage the left turn signal the headlights will intermittently shut off. They sometimes come back on and sometimes do not. Usually after completing a turn they come back on. It's unpredictable and this has caused some scary situations. It is a continual problem that needs to be fixed by kia.

The headlights keep burning out. I've had the car for a little over a year now and have had to replace the headlights 3 times. I was driving one night a couple months ago and both low beam headlights went out. That was very dangerous. That was my second set of headlights now I'm on my 3rd set and the drivers side went out. I paid extra for the best set of headlights autozone had to offer at the time as I was in desperate need so I could drive home and it still lasted the same amount of time, purchased on 1/22/2021. Also, they're always dim. For the most expensive set of lights I expected more. I did a little research and seen that this is very common for this vehicle. Why is this allowed to continue? someone is going to get hurt. Please research this and see what could be done. Headlights are very expensive. I have two other vehicles. A 2017 Dodge journey that has never needed a headlight change and a 2007 Ford escape that has only needed a few headlights in its entire existence. This is not right. The date listed below is the most recent incident.

Tl the contact owns a 2017 kia Forte. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the driver's side headlight became inoperable without warning. After opening the hood, the headlight worked as designed. Additionally, while using the left turn signal, the driver's side head light became inoperable. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was 59,000.
Front windshield smears everytime I use windshield wiper. I noticed this when I first got the car but thought nothing of it, and it would go away eventually. Now, I try to avoid driving when it rains because it seems the wipers just makes it worse. Also, my headlights do not do any justice. Sometimes I think I do not have them on because of how dim they are. At night, I would have to use my high beams on the highway or regular roads sometimes to avoid sharp turns or just to see the street lines.
Headlights have gone out multiple times even after replacement with new headlight bulbs. There has been one occasion where the headlights went out while I was driving at night on a busy road. I've had to replace the headlights at least every 6 months because of this issue. *when did this happen* date is the most recent of all occurrences. Headlights are also always very dim even with new bulbs.
My low beam headlights are barely on. I can not drive at night without using my high beams. This is very dangerous and I have seen on the internet that this is a vey common problem that is not being addressed because it has not caused any serious harm to people. Kia needs to step up and do a safety recall to fix this problem.
The kia headlights regularly and suddenly turned off and flickered back on with varying duration while the vehicle was in motion under normal use. This was noticeable at night when everything was dark and suddenly the headlights turned off when we needed them and quite often while making a turn. The problem occurred more frequently when the turning signal was activated which impacted the safe operation of the vehicle for both the passengers and other surrounding cars and people. Driving at night with no street lights on a 2-lane road with incoming traffic, then planning a turn and activating the turning signal caused some concerns to both the kia driver and the incoming vehicles when the headlights turned off and caused loss of visibility at night at the wrong moment. It is not good to not see and not be seen. I believe this was a serious issue that increased the risk of accident particularly at night. I brought the car to the kia dealership and had it fixed for about $400 total (parts and labor) but I feel this headlight issue is not normal and serious enough to be reported to help prevent unfortunate accidents.

My low beam headlights have been an issue for some time now I have only had the car 3 years and at first the headlights went completely out after replacing the bulbs I no longer have enough power source going to the headlights to use my low beams anymore. I took it to kia and they told me just the light bulb needed to be replaced on the driver side and my whole passenger side lighting system needed to be replaced. This sounds so wrong because both the lights work but they are so dim they are not useable. The driver side went out first the car was stationary then a month later the passenger.
Low beam headlights burn out every 2-3 months, one after the other. Sometimes one will go out and be out for a couple days and then come back on, but usually they go out and stay out until the bulb is replaced.
My car has been parked and every time I go outside my lights are on. The has been going for a month. I have been having problems out of my headlights every since I purchased the car this has gotten to be costly. When I'm driving sometimes the headlights on the passanger side will go out. These lights have had me buying batteries and bulbs .
Both low beam headlights went out at the same time. I checked the bulbs which turned out to be fine. It seems to be an electrical issue in the wiring. I have researched it and it is fairly common. Upon contacting kia they claim it's not covered under warranty.
I bought my 2012 kia Forte brand new. Well. . I don't understand why this engine has not been recalled. It makes a horrible ticking noise like its about to blow up and I was told the engine needs to be replaced. My mileage is 96,000. My dim headlights keep blowing as well. And its something electrical. Kia needs to be responsible and go ahead and recall because I have the same engine as the one thats been recall but they say mine isn't listed in the recall. ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly; 3 - VIN corrected, error in one position (assuming check digit is correct); 14 - unable to provide information for all the characters in the VIN. #vpic#.

My headlights keep going burning out. I have replaced them at least 5 times in the past year and a half.
"takata recall". My headlight wiring on the driver side keeps melting and blowing the bulbs which are not cheap. Had it fixed several times but it is still happening. This is a fire hazard to me and it should be recalled.

When I turn on directional the headlights go out, I then have to turn the directional on an off to get the headlights to come back on. City streets while I am coming up to my turn.
While driving at highway speeds headlights flicker and sometimes shut off and then back on. Failure appears immanent.
2014 kia Forte. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle and headlights not starting up. The consumer stated the vehicle failed to start and the headlights and interior lights would flicker. The dealers advised there were other vehicles with the same failure and that there was no resolution. The manufacturer stated the vehicle was operating a designed.
Notice my lights would go on & off on dash board during g day times thinking car had dimming effects, then notice when the car was off & lights should be off they would stay on. Then I would be sitting outside look at car & lights would just come on by themselves. The worst I was trying & headlights & insides lights went off while I was driving and continue to do so. I'm scared for me and my family safety. I dont even want the car anymore and sometimes smells like there's electrical burning or something dont know how to explain it.
Just recently (within this month) I have noticed that when I turn on my blinker either way, or step on my break my radio or music from my phone cuts out. It does not happen every time and I do not notice it happening at a particular speed. It happens mostly on the freeway but I just notice it did it on a surface street today. My headlights and my inside roof lights flicker also. Had a friend check it out and he said he could not find anything. Checked all the wiring for corrosion, something grounding where it shouldn't be, check my battery voltage and my transmission. Cannot figure out the problem and I am concerned about it being an electrical issue due to me driving 100+ miles a day, 6 days a week. Last thing I need is for my car to catch fire. . .
This car has several issues which I have found other 2014 owners having the same issue as I do. The headlights and taillights take turns going out. I am to the point about every 5 weeks I am replacing a burned out light. One headlight will go out then I fix that. A few weeks later I will get pulled over for a taillight. Being out. One officer told me he was giving me a warning because his wife has the same issues with her lights going out. I will replace the taillight then a few weeks later the other headlight will go out then the other taillight will go out. I find myself always replacing a light. I've pulled up to many Forte owners to let them know a taillight was out and they all say "again" the lights are a major problem. Also my driver side window won't go all the way up. I have had the problem fixed then about 6 months later the same problem happened again where the window will go almost all the way up but it still leaves a little gap in the window for air to come inside which will cause your car to rock back and fourth from the air flow in and out. Its dangerous as it has even pushed me into the other lane from the air pressure coming through the opening in the window.
The front headlight covers have long cracks in them. It has been sitting in front of my house?.
Starting about a year ago, the headlights on my car (low beam) started to regularly burn out about every month or two. I finally brought it into the dealership to find out what was going on and was told that there was a ground problem in both the wiring harnesses for the headlights. (the same issue in both ?? ) this has to be a safety defect as it has caused me to be driving at night when both of them burned out at the same time. With the same defect being in two different parts on the same car, I have a hard time believing this is not a general problem especially after talking to people in the dealership having similar problems. .
