Recall on engine was replaced 2 years ago for having metal shavings in the oil. The second motor has 15,000 miles on it and it's burning oil and smoking to where you can't see anything. I was getting on I 65 going north and smoke came out. It hesitates to go. Can't drive it over 45-50. Steering has a recall for a plastic cuffling behind steering wheel. It was replaced last year according to riverchase kia in pelham alabama. It is now making a popping noise again. Condensation is getting in tail lights causing the bulbs to blow. The tail light's on my vehicle continue to collect condensation causing problems with the electrical components. I have returned to the dealership on this issue for a repair. 5 Tail Light Switch problem of the 2012 Kia Motor Optima

Failure Date: 01/22/2020

Issue started 2 months ago. Noticed that vehicle acceleration is sluggish. Sometimes I have to take foot off the acceleration pedal then depress it again in order for vehicle to accelerate. Acceleration is unreliable and dangerous. Electronic stability sensor also started lighting up and cruise control became inoperable. Also noticed that my tail lights lit up on its own (and did not turn off) while vehicle is parked and fob not near vehicle, draining the battery. Police came by in the middle of the night to report that my tail lights were on. Tail light did not turn off when pressing the fob unlock/lock button. Had to restart the engine, drive around the block then turn off engine before the tail lights came off. . . But it turned back on again on its own that same night (in the middle of the night) and had to repeat the process. My battery was drained and had to replace it 3 days ago. I thought it was a battery problem (and was informed by dealer that it was probably a battery related issue) but problem persisted. Read reviews and this seems to be a running complaint with issues on brake pedal stopper or brake sensor stopper. Will bring vehicle to dealer in the morning.

6 Tail Light Switch problem of the 2011 Kia Motor Optima

Failure Date: 10/04/2019

My electronic stability control light came on after pressing the brake on a wet street while my vehicle was in motion. The next day I went to get a oil change and noticed that my tail lights did not work when I pressed the brakes. My tail lights work but the tail lights did not. I changed the bulbs and the problem still persisted. I also changed the brake light pedal switch but that did not fix the problem. My turn signal lights fail to work all the time.

13 Tail Light Switch problem of the 2006 Kia Motor Optima

Failure Date: 03/11/2011

My kia Optima 2006 has had several problems: bad oxygen sensor, an electrical short, and most recently- will not shift out of first gear. Kia says my VIN is not included in the current recall. I took the car to a kia dealer a few weeks before the gears quit shifting, but they couldn't find a problem. I have replaced six headlights and three tail lights. This car is a lemon! please ask kia to extend their current recall as, obviously more cars are affected than they are reporting. Please investigate!.

14 Tail Light Switch problem of the 2007 Kia Motor Optima

Failure Date: 01/04/2010

We have a 2007 model kia Optima and have had continuous problems with the turn indicator bulb on the tail light blowing. Also the same problem with the left front headlight burning out. We have replaced the rear bulb three times and the left headlight twice already since we have had the car. I was curious as to whether this was a common problem that other kia owners were having. The turn signal bulb went out in June of 2009 and again in October of 2009. The latest incident was on January 4th in 2010.
