Takara recall: my engine had been knocking/shaking for a good minute now. When I have it running and hood open it's just vibrating extremely hard and constantly. I've noticed it wants to stall or no shift correctly after a dead stop and something going into 3rd gear. Even while just idling I can feel the engine shaking the whole car from inside.

"takata recall" my engine started shaking and the car stopped!.
While driving on many city streets 0-45mph and interstate 0-70mph service engine light comes on and goes off periodically. When the light is on, car shakes and sputters as transmission gears shift (not engne). Appears to be something to do with the transmission. Caught the light on and read code p0711. According to TSB 043 [rev ] /2/2013 this is an internal problem and must be corrected by a licensed mechanic.

Jerking and loss of acceleration when driving and when shifting in parking/reverse. When shifting in reverse it makes a jerk and make a thud. Same thing in drive but a little more harsh. Jerking also just when shifting to drive after starting the car. Even when I drive it would give a jerk a few times when switching gears, and also when I brake to slow down it does it. I also remember the car shaking one time when I turned it on. It also lost acceleration while driving to work in a 45 mpg area. Had to pull over and shut/restart the car a few times. Taken in to kia each time this happened. Last night, June 30, was the forth time. Kia can't figure out what's wrong with it. It is scary and unsafe as I feel it can cause a rear-end accident.
The contact owns a 2013 kia Optima. The contact stated that while attempting to accelerate from a stand still position, the vehicle would shudder and failed to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician stated that this was a normal occurrence. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 2,320.
The vehicle had three expensive problems in rapid succession. The first was the transmission which started a severely hard downshift on braking from about 25 mph. The whole car shuddered and felt as if we slammed on the brakes for a second. After troubleshooting, kia told us we needed a new transmission for $2700 with no help from kia. After this repair, not even two weeks later, the air bag light came on. Diagnosis from kia, defective sensor in the passenger seat, not covered by warranty and a $1500 replacement estimate. We decided not to fix this item because we were going to trade the car in on another make and cut our losses. The third problem which occurred one week later was a failure to start after parking the car for an hour at a doctor's office, stranding my wife in 95 degree heat. The car was towed to a non-kia repair shop as I no longer want anything to do with kia who will deny any claim against their so-called quality products and will be disposing of the car as soon as it is running again since kia does not stand behind its defective products. After three major failures in a short period of time we feel this is an unsafe vehicle.
